This was my second time visiting Chiang Mai, so I know what to expect. For the price charged, this hotel is not worth it when better and cheaper options are available nearby.
While the hotel was charming, quiet, and clean, several basic issues made the stay frustrating and unpleasant.
One of the beds was broken, there was no hot water, the WiFi barely worked (about 10–15 percent of the time), my AC remote stopped working, and most notably the main lady at the front desk made little effort to communicate with us and resolve these issues.
We had to rely on slow, costly mobile data or leave the hotel just to get online, despite the hotel advertising free WiFi.
The AC issue was fixed, and the maintenance technician was kind. However, raising other concerns was largely a waste of time. A hotel catering to international guests at this price point should make a reasonable effort to communicate with their guests. They did not and it became clear it was a waste of time trying to address issues.
At $50 per night in Chiang Mai, this is unacceptable. We left and stayed at another hotel that was a 5 minute walk from this location for $27 per night. They had reliable WiFi, warm water, an attentive staff, an elevator, room service, a lovely rooftop, and other additional amenities. I would recommend looking elsewhere.
