Wow, this place was fantastic! Celebrated my birthday here and would absolutely return. Upon being seated, I received a comprehensive lecture on the place's Aboriginal history and management, a unique touch not common in most high-end restaurants nowadays. The food, part of the $100 menu providing an overview of the entire selection, was exceptionally delicious, featuring intriguing tastes that harmonized well. The oysters were a standout, and the drinks were delightful. A generous bartender even treated me to a complimentary cocktail for my birthday. The food arrived promptly, ensuring a satisfying experience. Highly recommend to anyone in Byron Bay. A solid 5 stars.

Excellent dining experience with the Smoke and Fire set menu. We felt it was really good value for the quality, volume and price. Cocktails were also excellent and the service was warm and engaging too. We enjoyed our meal so much that we went back two nights later. Highlights: Kangaroo pie Beef short rib Damper Paper bark oyster Sugarloaf cabbage Carrots with macadamia cream (So virtually everything) We will be sure to be back.

The interior of the place is absolutely stunning. I instantly felt the friendliness and warmth as I walked in. It was a great atmosphere catching up with Family. The food was delicious and the staff gave us a bit of history on all our food choices, which I really liked and found interesting. If you are in the area, I would definitely recommend trying this place out!

Table for 2 at 7pm. Fantastic heritage paying homage to local native foods. The food was delicious, however some confusion with timing on dish delivery. Our cabbage dish arrived once we’d finished our main meat dish. The restaurant manager was kind enough to remove this dish from our bill. Staff were attentive up until we placed our order, but then somewhat absent thereafter.

The best meal we have had in Byron by a long way! Food was so fresh and use of native ingredients was subtle yet well incorporated into their dishes. Our favourites were the scallops and green curry, but seriously everything was amazing. Even our kids fish and chips were great! Will be back!

Mindy is an amazing chef and it was the best food I've ever eaten. Her ability to use native Australian ingredients with modern techniques brought together thoughtful, beautiful and delicious dishes. Each and every course was stunning with flavours I had never imagined together. My highlights were the complex flavours of the damper and butter, the perfect cook on the fish and the richness of chocolate and wattleseed in the desert. Mindy has such a joyous outlook on life and it shows in her food. It was amazing food, fantastic staff, a beautiful venue all at a great location close to the beach. I look forward to visiting again and trying more.

Interesting ingreident selection with amazing flavours. Steamed fish was definitely our favourite. Nothing to fault - do much umami and perfect texture of fish. Had to fingerlick the plate to get last bit of broth. Definitely gone way beyond the expectation. Must visit

Great casual dining experience with tasty share plates so you can try a bit of everything! You can tell the produce is farm to table with the tomatoes looking like they came straight from the garden. The prawns and gnocchi was a highlight that went great with the macadamia hummus and freshly baked bread with olive oil. The cocktails were great too!
