12 reasons to spend the year-end holidays at Karma Kandara in Bali - SilverKris

"This clifftop five-star resort offers an exclusive, romantic escape with secluded pool villas and private pavilions, an infinity-style pool facing dramatic Bali sunsets, and an emphasis on privacy and relaxation. Over a festive 12-day celebration (23 December–3 January) guests are treated to daily spa offerings, gourmet experiences, themed parties and moonlight movie screenings by the sea. Entertainment highlights include all-day beach DJ sets, a Caribbean-style carnival with percussion and fire dancers, a circus-themed New Year’s Eve with acrobats, dancers and magicians, and community-focused events such as Christmas carols performed by underprivileged children in partnership with a local foundation. Active guests can join beach competitions (including a beach volleyball and stand-up paddleboarding “cup”), numerous fitness and wellness classes twice daily, and themed spa pop-ups offering IV hydration and healing sessions. Festive cocktails are rotated daily throughout the period, while on-site kids’ programming keeps younger visitors occupied so adults can enjoy spa treatments and nightlife. After the festivities, guests can unwind in airy, Balinese-inspired villas that open onto teak decks and private pools." - SilverKris

Karma Kandara is a beautiful resort, truly like a paradise. Everything is very clean, and the villas are spacious and stunning. The staff are amazing . So friendly, polite, and always smiling. The whole place has a great vibe, and you can feel how much the team cares about the guests.||Now, a few suggestions for improvement:| • The menu should be changed more often. I stayed for 10 days, and by the end, I already knew everything on it. The food was okay but not “wow.” It would be nice to have more traditional Balinese dishes instead of mostly Italian food (pizza and pasta). Also, the food prices are a bit high.| • The cable car to go down to the beach or up to the restaurant is very slow. Sometimes you have to wait up to 20 minutes in line, which is not pleasant after spending the whole day at the beach under the sun. I suggest adding another cable car in the future to make it faster and more comfortable.| • One thing I really didn’t like was the membership sales pressure. During the holiday, we were constantly approached about becoming members of the Karma Group. In my opinion, that’s not professional — guests come to relax, not to feel stressed or pushed to buy something. The marketing and sales approach could be more subtle and respectful, especially for a 5-star resort.||However, I want to mention Lily, who works in sales , she’s an amazing human being, very kind and professional.||Overall, we had a wonderful experience. The staff are fantastic, the place is beautiful, and with a few small improvements, Karma Kandara could be absolute perfection.

An absolutely charming property with the most stunning views and amazing service. Our villa was just perfect, the private pool was deep and big enough to enjoy leisurely times, and the room was beautiful with all the amenities you could want and more. The entire property is built beautifully, and it was fun to walk around in the maze like cobbled routes (they were almost streets) that almost felt like playing temple run live. The beach and the gorgeous views from the property of the beach are the best features of the resort. The main pool overlooks the beach from the cliff, there's a gondola to take you down (could sometimes be shut for regular maintenance) and if you're adventurous or craving an extra workout you can take the stairs down too. The staff is really sweet and attentive which is a big plus! Perfect place to chill if you're looking to be away from the hustle bustle of city/crowds. The towns aren't very far either and you can just book a Grab or rent a scooter. Overall a lovely and relaxing stay!

The Villas were mostly very old and in poor condition badly in need of a refurbishment! I’ve been there many times over the years and this time post Covid , I find the resort infrastructure at its worst form from before! We had a few Villas booked and most of them had malfunctions in them be it air conditioning or power supply or water heater issues. From the rates charged it is no more value for money. The only thing keeping it popular with its dated infrastructure is the breathtaking view from its location.

We loved our 2brm Mentari Apartment at Karma Kandara. I had 3 bathrooms and fully equipped kitchen including a water cooler and coffee pods machine.|It was roomy with a balcony overlooking the sea and countryside.|A buggy was available to go to the restaurant as paths are quite steep.|The spa overlooking the ocean was amazing. We loved the free beach access and bars and restaurants on the beach too. All the food was great during our one week stay

Karma Kandara — Truly a Honeymoon Paradise This place is simply stunning and, in my opinion, one of the best honeymoon spots you’ll ever find. It’s not just a place to stay — there are plenty of activities to enjoy, making it feel like more than just an escape. Honestly, it’s an unforgettable experience. 🌊✨ I would definitely come back again. The price felt very reasonable for what you get. Service was warm, the place was spotless, and everything was well-maintained — truly top of the best. Although it’s a bit far from everywhere? it’s absolutely worth it! 🌴✨ A true hidden paradise with great service, beautiful views, and unforgettable vibes. In karma beach This place is more than just a beach—it’s a honeymoon paradise. You can enjoy so many activities here, from watching movies by the beach, relaxing on the sunbeds, to swimming in the clear ocean.

We have been loyal Karma members for almost 10 years and even recently upgraded our membership, trusting in the brand’s promise of quality and hospitality. Unfortunately, this stay was far below the standards expected from a five-star resort. Our villa had multiple issues — the kitchen hob didn’t work, toaster was faulty, lights were not functioning properly, and bathtub water pressure was extremely low. We also faced delayed responses to basic requests like an iron and clothes stand. Even the shared pool was closed intermittently, leaving us with no pool access for days. What made it worse was the complete lack of management follow-up. Despite raising multiple complaints and sending an email (which remains unanswered even after six days), no one from the management team contacted us. The only time a customer relationship manager spoke to us was on the first day — to discuss upgrading our membership, not to check on our comfort or satisfaction. This trip was meant to celebrate my father’s birthday, but instead, it turned into a frustrating experience. For a resort that positions itself as luxury and member-focused, the service and accountability were shockingly poor. We truly hope Karma Group takes guest feedback seriously and improves its maintenance and service standards.

Beautiful location with attentive, friendly, cheerful and helpful staff. However our experience was mared by loud building noise on a daily basis on plot adjacent to the villa. We were offered alternative accommodation but it was of an inferior standard so we stayed put. Appreciate that Karma had no control over building work as it was not on their land. Maybe we should have been informed prior to arrival? Apart from that, an enjoyable holiday in beautiful Bali!

I had a wonderful time at a villa at Karma Kandara in Bali. The villas are spacious and beautiful and give (almost) total privacy. The restaurant has a lovely view of the ocean and serves delicious food and beverages for very reasonable prices. The restaurant at the beach served me a delicious cold coffee preparation with an orangy twist. I also enjoyed a relaxing massage right next to the sea with the roar of the ocean in my ears and the sea breeze fanning me. I also took a boxing class to stay in shape. The staff are very polite and helpful. I had nothing whatsoever to complain about.
