After taking a 6 mile walk on the rail trail we stopped in for lunch. Our friend has been to Karma Road before but it was our first time. It’s a small place with a few bar stools and tables. You order at the counter and they will bring the food to your area. Their tag line is “Fresh, Organic Food for the Soul” which best describes Karma Road. Two of us had the Falafel Wrap ($13.99) “Our falafel are baked, not fried and joined with our own hummus, grated carrot, tomato, lettuce & tahini dressing.” My wife had a flex bowl with millet and lentil, blackened tofu and our friend had the soup of the day (tomato and bean). The service was excellent. They were very friendly and worked hard to keep things going. We messed up our order and only got one of the Falafel Wraps. Our fault, but they quickly made us a second one. We ended up taking that one home to enjoy the next day. We also got a couple of Triple Berry muffins. Everything was delicious. A perfect way to end a nice walk on the rail trail.

Google
Great food! Nothing was overly cooked in oil or salt and actually tasted like food. The quality is great - wonderful bread options, tempeh, sweet potato biscuit all handled with care and respect. Everything is plant based. Staff are kind. There's indoor avd outdoor seating. Lovely spot.

Google
Great food. Service was excellent. We came in close to closing and they graciously allowed us to eat in and finish while they cleaned up. Generally healthy food. Intentionally affordable options.

Google
Delicious! We grabbed something from Karma Road every day we were staying in the area. Tempeh sandwich was terrific, as was the mammoth breakfast burrito and delicious smoothies. Friendly staff and tons of great healthy options. Highly recommend!

Google
What a delicious experience! I love finding and supporting restaurants that offer any types of vegetarian options, so locating an entirely plant-based eatery was a must. Their version of a BLT using tempeh & the Avocado Explosion were both bursting with flavor & fresh greens. I would deduct half a star for the bread which we both felt was underwhelming.

Google
Vegans, vegetarians, AND meat lovers rejoice! While it’s a vegan establishment, I can guarantee there’s something for everyone here. I was so excited by the entire menu. Between the sandwiches, salads, bowls, smoothies, and juices, I wanted to try it all. I’ll be looking forward to returning the next time I pass through town. The baked tofu sandwich was 10/10. The sturdy multigrain bread, the crunchy lettuce, creamy mayo, pesto, tofu, and roasted red peppers married perfectly. Meat folks: when vegan is done right, I promise, you won’t miss the meat. The kind gentleman behind the counter even gave me a complimentary plate of samples which included black bean salad, crispy tofu cubes, and roasted Brussels sprouts. THEY WERE ALL SO GOOD!!!! Ugh, I just loved this place. Don’t miss it!

I own a business down the street and it's been such a treat being closer to Karma Road. My partner and I often come in after our cafe closes to enjoy some great food provided by a kind staff, who go above and beyond (even when we sometimes sneak into the restaurant 10min before close!). The folks here have really paved the way for vegan food in this area (and beyond) and their menu never fails. At the moment I am hooked on the the Baked Tofu sandwich especially. Highly recommend for vegans and non-vegans alike!

Yelp
Super friendly service! They helped me pick out my breakfast burrito which is delicious. They suggested the hibiscus lemonade which I am truly enjoying. A very good vegan meal!!!

Yelp
This place is an absolute gem and was a highlight of my recent trip to the area. I was staying in New Paltz and looking for a spot to grab some lunch and maybe get a little work done. I found Karma Road on Yelp--a vegan cafe? Yes, please. It's a small cafe with a few tables inside as well as a few outside. When I arrived, the outdoor seating was full but there was a few tables available inside that were perfect for my needs (dining and working). It's an order at the counter set up. I knew I wanted a sandwich and was leaning toward an avocado sandwich they had on menu. The worker was excessively kind and welcoming. Upon hearing it was my first time there, they asked if I might like a recommendation. I mentioned I was thinking of getting a sandwich. They shared that they're favorite sandwich was the baked tofu. I asked if I could get it with avocado added, they enthusiastically recommended I do so! I did, and my goodness--that sandwich was outta this world. It was absolutely divine. It came with some cucumbers that were seasoned and seemed to have maybe a squeeze of citrus as well? I truly don't know what they had on them but what a simple yet absolutely astoundingly fresh and fabulous side. Whether you're vegan, vegetarian, or simply like good food--seriously, give this gem a shot. It is well worth the stop. Get to it!

Yelp
What a gem of a restaurant this is! We finished walking on the River to Ridge Trail and were starving. I had the vegetarian Reuben and it was so delish. The people were so friendly and the atmosphere is eclectic. Def will b back.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious!!! The tofu pesto sandwich is super delicious!!! All the sides and veggies are amazing especially the Brussels sprouts and cauliflower. The bean & corn salad was a nice treat.. I never like beans lol but karma had me craving and driving an hour to eat beans in their breakfast dishes also !! I will always crave everything I have eaten from here

Yelp
Cute little place to grab a healthy bite to eat on the way back from Fleishmanns to NYC.

Yelp
I have loved this place for years now. Such a wonderful spot with a cozy interior and always friendly staff. The TBTS is probably the best sandwich I've ever had and is consistently amazing. It's worth the detour off the NYS Thruway just to try it- the combo of the tofu scramble, tempeh bacon, and vegan mayo is so insanely good. I haven't even tried their other menu options because I really don't think you can beat this
google avatar

Yelp
Golden Milk Coffee. That's all I have to say. Oh em gee is it delicious!!!! Gluten free wrap, where do they get such a delicious wrap that actually stays together?! This place is adorable, the staff is friendly, the seating is minimal, but it's a Main Street so there are indoor and outdoor options to sit. Stop in if you're in the area, this place is worth it! And the area is adorable and trendy too, plenty of little shops to hit while in town!

Yelp
Every single thing is great. I feel like I am thanking my body for life and eating here is rewarding me and ensuring I keep caring for it. Love karma road!

Yelp
If you are looking for something light after a tiring hike, the one that leaves your stomach unsure that it will accept a heavy or light lunch. Look no further; Blackend tofu, curried zucchini, cucumber salad with dill and tempeh bacon are the perfect things I wish to have after a hike. They are perfectly made, not oily but still flavorful; just the right spice to let the flavors come through. The stomach is happy, a light casual ambiance and no dead animals :)

Yelp
Always 10/10. Can't visit without grabbing a favorite- wake up call smoothie. Perfect blend of coffee and cocoa to start the day. Baked tofu sandwich and a hybrid breakfast burrito made with extra love.
google avatar

Pratiksha R.

Yelp
Great tiny place for filling vegan meal. We found a little pricey. We ordered hybrid burritos it was delicious. The roasted potato and tofu scramble added a lot of flavor. The another thing we ordered was baked tofu sandwich with avocado. Pesto in the sandwich was amazing. For drinks we ordered freshly squeezed orange juice and mango and ginger smoothie.

Yelp
You have not lived until you have eaten Karma Road's TBLT - tempeh bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich. I get a hankering for one about once a month - and I'm an omnivore. Every server I have ever encountered there has been in a great mood, smiling, and ready to help. I dig the artwork from local artists, too.

Charles H.

Yelp
Amazing menu!! So many options sounded too good to pass up, had to make a tough decision on this lunch! Got the TBTS as a wrap and did not disappoint. Also, super cool interior. Nice and relaxing and super sweet staff.

Yelp
I went to college in New Paltz and during that time, Karma Road was a staple! I'm not vegan personally, but I have lots of friends who are and this has been a great place to go with them when they were visiting me while I was in college. Plus, you don't need to be vegan to enjoy some of the delicious and healthy food here! My two favorites- sweet potato biscuit toasted with earth balance (I literally dream about this sometimes...it hurts that I live on the West coast now) and their Chocolate in my peanut butter smoothie. I'd definitely recommend checking out karma road if ever in the New Paltz area. You won't regret it!

Heather C.

Yelp
This place warms my heart. Good food and good people. So many options: a mix and match deli case, sandwiches, smoothies, salads (try the Kalecado with smokey tempeh!). If you are eyeing the soup of the day, order a toasty sweet potato biscuit on the side. Be sure to grab a muffin or PB&J thumbprint cookie to-go because the rail trail is a hop skip and jump out the front door. GF accommodating and 100% Vegan. An exemplar of whole food cooking. Thank you Karma Road!
google avatar

Meara L.

Yelp
I got the Tempeh BLT Sandwich, and was quite impressed. The bacon was cooked well and it complimented the scrambled tofu. I also got a tropical smoothie wirh oatmilk and it was SO good, very refreshing. The smoothie was $10 which is a lot. The sandwich was fairly priced, I would like to see them put their prices on their menu in the sto

Yelp
Great place for vegan options! Large selection of food, smoothies, salads, etc. everything that I've tried has been good. Definitely more on the expensive side

Sarah L.

Yelp
We got the Karma Reuben, mixed veggie slaw, and the French lentil & butternut squash soup. Each bite made our smiles bigger and bellies fuller. We are full of food, nourishment, and love. Seth is one of a kind, with extra kind

Yelp
I'm not a vegan but this is still a great place to eat. It's a little pricey compared to other local places (not insanely pricey) but you get what you pay for. The h gradients are always top quality, the staff is friendly and accommodating and the smoothies are fantastic. I really like the vegan Ruben wrap. I don't even miss the meat. This is not a big place and even before COVID there was not a lot of room to dine in but it is still worth the visit.

Yelp
This spot is our GO TO when we're in the New Paltz area! This place is ESPECIALLY great if you come STARVING after a hike! My boyfriend LOVES the Climber's Plate. It's MASSIVE and has so many things going on! It has roasted potatoes, tofu scramble, beans, grains, vegan cheese, salsa, and toast. He adds Tempeh Bacon. definitely pick at his whenever we go. The vegan cheese they use reminds me of a sharp cheddar..? It definitely overpowers a lot of the flavor of the dish, but I mean that in the BEST way ever!!! It's amazing. I get the Tempeh Bacon and Tofu Scramble Sandwich. If you're not ABSOLUTELY starving or hungry enough to eat the Climber's Plate this is a great option as well! Service is friendly here and food comes out in a good amount of time! We love it

Yelp
It was pouring and we got kinda lost in the mohonk preserve so perfect end to our day. Get the mango stinger, nice sour mango ginger taste. Sweet potato biscuits are the bomb! Enough said. Enjoyed the vibe, ppl, food

Yelp
I love this place! I particularly enjoy their 'Climber's Plate' and avocado toast. I also enjoy their 'milk' shakes. The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating.
google avatar

Yelp
came in to try here, def something new for me. I was greeted warmly as I enter and I got a mango berry smoothie. the smoothie so refresh and clean. it felt a burst of fresh fruit in every sip. first time I had a fresh smoothie that was pure and tasted like real fruit. love the décor and vibe there. :)

Suchita S.

Yelp
So good, we went there twice in two days while visiting New Paltz! We've had the Choc PB and Mango Blueberry smoothies, the Climber's Plate, the PB Jelly cookie, the sweet potato biscuit and the Baked Tofu sandwich with tomatoes. All yummy. Our favorite was the sandwich!

Isabelle L.

Yelp
Insanely high quality and delicious food. The tempeh bacon is incredible, and all the produce is incredibly fresh. Absolute must.

M L.

Yelp
Healthy, hearty food with huge portions. It's the kind of food I wish I could eat every day. My only warning is that the burrito is not a small handheld. These can feed two people, and they must be eaten with a knife and fork.
google avatar

Joseph G.

Yelp
Great vegan food made fresh. I go here almost every time I'm in NP. But I've only had a couple items - I recommend the Climbers plate.
google avatar

Lo P.

Yelp
Karma Road is vegan's paradise! It's so delicious and has a great menu with pre-made sides, smoothies and sandwiches/wraps. I love the Brussel sprouts, cauliflower, and the veggie burger. Great location right on Main Street with outdoor seating and a parking lot in the back.

Paul D.

Yelp
Have always liked The food and vibe at karma Road. Although on our last visit we both ordered creamy white bean soup. My wife overheard them talking about being low on this soup. Then they brought us a completely different soup (Vegetable lentil) and said nothing. I guess they thought we wouldn't notice?

Nate C.

Yelp
I was helped by Josh. Not only is this lad handsome but his customer service more than satisfactory. I was very impressed with his politeness and vibrant skin. Can wait to go back soon. Great food. -Booba

Yelp
Great GF options , lovely vegetarian vegan options. Quick and friendly service. Great smoothies!

Penny S.

Yelp
very overpriced and kinda dumpy. I ordered the tempeh Reuben. it was tiny. wrapped in foil. no side at all. 12.49 plus tip. they don't give you a plate! won't be going back.

Yelp
They make a very good shake . I love the climber's plate and their soups. Great place for vegans and non-vegans alike.

Yelp
Early morning stop on the way to Minnewaska for a big hike. Breakfast burrito was great and we grabbed a bowl for lunch during our hike which was equally great. Much more important to me was the kindness expressed by what I believe was the owner of Karma Road. My Autistic son had a tiny little Autistic moment and let's just say the one worker did not have her right balance of morning coffee, based on her response. I did not complain, as my son (and me) made a mistake, and we literally paid for it. It happens in the complexities of dealing with Autism. The owner came out as we were eating breakfast and literally could not have been nicer, rectified the situation without me asking or saying anything, and she now has a customer for life. We will be back and #AutismFriendly places really are appreciated in this world. Thanks Karma Road, and the food was really great too. Mike and Dusty Sweeney

Yelp
My favorite place to stop whenever I'm in New Paltz. Health conscious options for vegetarians and vegans. They offer juices, smoothies, coffee/tea, wraps, burritos, sandwiches, soups, and they have a deli counter where you can choose a combo of different sides. They also have some house-made baked goods. Everything is labeled so you can easily tell what is vegan and what is not. Their sweet potato biscuits are seriously the most incredible things you will ever eat. I always get two ;). This is a wonderful spot to hit after a hike at Minnewaska. Perfectly located in the heart of New Paltz The place itself is pretty small, with some indoor and outdoor seating. Really great energy inside, with colorful and loving decor. The kitchen is open and the chefs are right there to answer any questions you might have about the food. The staff is super laid back and friendly, always have a great experience with them. You get your food pretty quickly and you can taste that it's made with love. I love everything that Karma Road stands for.

Amanda K.

Yelp
TLT FTW! And golden (oat) milk delish! Wish the Rueben was on rye bread (can we really call it a Rueben if it's not?) and had a bit more of the fake meat, but the BLT is fantastic and we'll definitely be back!
google avatar

Dan A.

Yelp
Amazing food, friendly service! Hands down my favorite place to get breakfast in New Paltz, and one of the best places to eat there overall. I often stop by to get a breakfast burrito or sandwich on the way to go climbing, sometimes coffee or a smoothie also. Everything is always great. Their muffins make a great snacks as well. The place is entirely vegan, but my nonvegan friends enjoy the food also. Service can be a bit slow when it's busy, but if you're in a rush you can call ahead and they'll have your food waiting for you. Very nice atmosphere inside or on the patio on a nice day. If there's any downside, is that it's easy to spend a lot of money here, but that's only because all the food is so good! Pricing is definitely reasonable for what you get.

Yelp
Stopped eating meat, fish, eggs and starting eating lots of grains and veggies. I visited New Paltz yesterday and wanted to try to eat vegan. Found this place on Yelp. The food was delicious and creative. They have lots of options to choose from. All ingredients are organic and put together to make amazing Vegan dishes! I will definitely eat there again, because the staff are friendly and helpful with all things on menu as well as any questions about the food and recipes.

Michelle T.

Yelp
I was truly disappointed upon my latest visit to Karma. I live in N Jersey and we made a family day trip and decided New Paltz was the place to go. We have many good memories of this area and Karma always stood out. We went and were surprised to see the menu without any prices listed. When I asked about the price of a salad, the girl working the counter looked annoyed and said it was about $12-$14. "about" is not a good answer. I then asked for a printed menu in hopes that had pricing and no luck, they didn't have any. So we stayed staring at the written items on the menu board but truly were upset that we would have to keep on asking the cost of items. We simply left and ate at Mudd Puddle not too far away. I will not be visiting Karma on any future trips. Not good.

Kennedy M.

Yelp
The food is so good and really fresh. I would highly recommend trying their food vegan or not. I went with a friend (I am vegan she is not) and she really enjoyed her food and wants to go back!

Yelp
Looking for a clutch smoothie or healthy spot after the gym? Karma Road is that spot. I regularly opt or the Strawberry Banana smoothie with almond milk and hemp protein. Delicious and healthy option.

Yelp
While visiting New Paltz, my husband and I decided to visit this deli one day for lunch. My husband ordered the veggie burger and I got the kale salad. I really loved my salad. It was a massaged kale salad with avocado dressing, topped with cashews and raisins. However, I wish it was larger and that there was visible avocado in it, rather than only the dressing. I actually asked the waiter, "Where's the avocado?" I just really wanted some avocado. My husband did not say much about his burger, but he enjoyed it ok. He was kind of in a bad mood because he had to go to the bathroom but the deli doesn't have one available to customers. The burger came on toasted bread with a side of coleslaw, which my husband didn't eat. Although I enjoyed my food, I am giving this restaurant a 3/5 because: 1. I think my salad should have been bigger for the price. 2. Seating is limited, which is fine, but all the vacant tables were dirty with previous diners food particles, which is disgusting. 3. It took an exceptionally long time for us to get our food. 4. Although I told my husband ahead of time that there was no bathroom, he complained to me the whole time about it. I do think that it would be nice to have at least one small bathroom available to customers, especially to wash their hands. However, this is not a huge issue if you prepare ahead of time, like I did. It's just something customers should be aware about before visiting. As a Celiac, I appreciated that there are a wide variety of gluten-free options available. They also have a deli and you can make your own bowl/lunch for a really good price. Overall, I'd totally recommend this place if you are taking the food to go and it is already prepared and available in the deli case.

Yelp
Sad to give this place 3 stars. It's all vegan! Call ahead, for example there was a party for staff today so they closed at 3. Their hours are limiting, they usually close at 5. I called ahead about our order because we were in a rush, and they were kind enough to make our large ish order within 20 minutes. The veggie burger was good, but it doesn't come with avocado, and was a bit small. The burritos were too mushy and we bought 3 - I think the quinoa doesn't hold up well, and I think black beans would probably hold up better. There is salsa on the top which I suppose is okay if you are eating it immediately, but a bit annoying if you are ordering to go, would have preferred it to be on the side. The salad on the side of the burrito is not flavorful. The smoothies are good. Our favorite item was the kalecado, it had a good amount of flavor. If I came back, I would order sandwiches over the burritos. Probably wouldn't recommend the burritos at this place. We went to Lola's the day before and they had an all vegan menu that we loved.

Yelp
In New Paltz for a day trip from Brooklyn and was so happy with the food here. Delicious, fresh, clean and filling food. Don't miss the sweet potato biscuits with walnuts. Very friendly service too.

I love the place very nice . Food is delicious . I had mushrooms quinoa soup and kale salad with nuts and raisin . I really enjoy it and definitely recommended .

Yelp
Fantastic food!! I love the Affordabowls with the grains, legumes, and your choice of ... We also had the sweet potato biscuit , which was excellent and the yummy smoothies. We're WFPB and we were very satisfied. Definitely going back tomorrow!
google avatar

Kat L.

Yelp
Came here for breakfast and this place exceeded my expectations! Being a vegan, I was overwhelmed by all the options for once! I settled on the Climber's plate and it was by far one of the best vegan dishes I've ever had. I was tempted to get something from the deli part (I was specifically eyeing those sweet potato biscuits). I like how this place offers a variety of vegetarian food that is not just limited to salads or fruits. They offer plenty of savory meals which is sometimes hard to come by. The next time I am in New Paltz I will 100% be coming back here.

Yelp
very good smoothies and prepared foods. but you got to be willing to wait 20+ mins even on off-peak hours. try calling in your order prior to
