Backpacking Cambodia: 3 Suggested Itineraries for 2025
"Karma Traders Kampot is a comfortable hostel with a pool, AC, hot showers, an on-site restaurant, and a rooftop bar; the staff are great, it’s easy to meet people, and it has everything you need for a fun stay." - Matthew Kepnes
Was worried this hostel was too far out of town, but is perfectly walkable in 15/20 mins or so. Amazing staff running the place, always happy to help and the food is fantastic. TBH I just loved the ash trays. They make the hostel the place it is. Seriously, I love the ash trays. Go check them out.

Very cool hostel for open minded and explorative backpackers. You will meet many cool and interesting friends here. The tacos are delicious, the pool is nice and they have everything you need. Many good recommendations for things to do in Kampot. The beds inside the building are better than the ones in the containers. I had some issues with my bed but they made sure i was made satisfied and got a discount and free beers. Very good service.

Stayed at karma traders when we visited kampot. Such a nice hostel. so many friendly staff, Zac at the pool bar made our time there. Perfect location, 5 minute tuk tuk into the town, lots to do around kampot too! We rented scooters from the hostel for very cheap! The food was incredible and reasonably priced, and taco tuesday was good fun with live music.

My favourite hostel so far! The food and the service is amazing, rooms with AC. The rooftoop and the swimming pool area are great spots for meeting fellow travellers, and to relax. Shout out to Brian and Zach who made us feel so welcomed and safe.

I stayed at Karma Traders for 4 nights and really enjoyed my time here! The rooftop bar is amazing for meeting people and has a great atmosphere. The food is delicious especially the chicken burger.
The rooms are clean and comfortable, with fans at each bed (although mine unfortunately wasn’t working). The staff are all super friendly and helpful. Sokha in particular made the experience extra fun! He’s so kind, and his own bar, Peacocks, is fantastic for karaoke nights.
You can also rent a bike for $6 a day mine was in great condition and perfect for exploring around Kampot.

I loved this place!! There’s not much to do in the town of Kampot, but Karma Traders is worth the trip. They host great events and it’s super easy to meet other travelers here. It’s a little bit set apart from the main town of Kampot, but it’s not a far walk or cheap tuktuk into town. You also HAVE to rent a scooter from them for a day to drive around Bokor National Park! It was such an easy ride and so fun to see the monkeys and view of the coast. The food is also really good here for lunch/dinner!

really nice vibes here, feels very social n met loads of people to hang out with. food and drinks is good. we saw the pods online and thought we'd get those in a hostel room but then got put in a shipping container in the garden with old style bunk beds. but was still nice and chill. one thing I will say is that we were stared at quite a lot by the male staff which was uncomfortable at points.
