Karmen Apartments

The degree to which the owner, Marc, cares about his guests was demostrated to me when I saw him standing in the opening in the city wall watching to make sure I had arrived safely. That was the beginning of a great stay. |The studio apartment is perfectly sized for a solo traveller. It is cheerfully decorated, very clean with great natural light and well supplied with everything needed for a comfortable stay. The location is just a short walk from historic sites, cafes and the harbor, with a great restaurant and bakery just down the steps from apartment. |I would gladly stay there again.

After booking on a whim, staying at Karmen apartments was definitely a highlight for us! Marc was a pillar of support despite cancelled flights and even met us in the harbour to walk us up to the apartment. The apartment itself is gorgeous, cosy yet spacious and decorated with artistic, bohemian charm. Despite being able to touch the wall from the windows, it is still a calm, quiet oasis within the city. Every traveller should aim to stay at least a night here, it really is that special of a place!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Karmen Apartments. It was in a perfect location, close to everything but on a quiet location. Best of all, it was only a few steps above the main level of Old Town. The unit was very clean and welcoming with a quaint patio. When we were booking the unit, we had an availability issue, but Marc worked with us to make our stay possible. Marc was pleasant and easy to work with via email. The nearby Gianni ice cream and pastry shop was an added bonus.

We stayed at the Karmen Apartments for three nights. We chose to stay here primarily because of its great location next to the City Wall with a view of the harbor. The owner, Marc Van Bloemen, speaks English and offered insights and suggestions regarding our stay. The rooms are spacious and fully furnished. There is a kitchenette if you would like to prepare some meals, (breakfast comes to mind). We are meeting with some friends who are planning a trip to Croatia, and will recommend Karmen Apartments to them.

Karmen apartments were perfect for our stay in Dubrovnik. The location is ideal, inside the walls and close to everything. It was nice going back to the apartment after touring to regroup before dinner.|The apartment had everything we needed. There are kitchen items to use and a comfortable bed. The apartment was very quiet.|Marc did an excellent job with communication and was there to answer our questions. I will definitely recommend the Karmen apartments to friends.

Marc our host was wonderful. Accommodating us with a ground floor apartment (the hotel was fully booked) and meeting us at the taxi drop off, and arranging transportation from the airport. The apartment was ideally located on a quiet street near the rectors place. It was well stocked, clean, charming, and quiet. Everything we needed was there. I recommend the apartments on a visit to Dubrovnik.

The experience, apartment, and location couldn't have been better. The apartment was well-appointed with a comfortable bed, a kitchen, and a dining area for a nice cup of tea in the morning or an afternoon rest. The extra room was a nice place to tuck our luggage away. Marc, the owner, arranged for transportation and met us on arrival (given that it is a pedestrian-only walled city, this was reassuring). Marc was lovely to chat with and learn about his adventurous life. Our windows overlooked Mount Srd, the wall, and the marina. The location was perfect to enjoy a more "local" experience in the quiet of the morning and evening after the tourist lessen. We even got to watch the local waterpolo team play in a meet just outside the wall. I would recommend this location (especially since there are fewer stairs to access it than other places) to anyone and will definitely return on future Dubrovnik visit.
