"Take in the atmosphere of Helsingborg’s medieval tower, which doubles as the best photo opportunity in the city. You’re made to work for it though, as you'll have to walk across gravel paths and climb a steep wooden staircase to reach the top of the tower. Built during the early 14th century, the keep was formerly part of a much larger castle that played a key role in Swedish-Danish relations over the centuries. Find out more at the new exhibition that focuses on medieval life during the tower’s heyday."

The tower was closed at Time when I was there, but it is a significant landmark even from outside. I definetly have to get back here one day, to see it from inside and top. The staircase to the tower was open, and it provided beautiful view to surrounding as well.

Kärnan stands as a significant historical landmark in Helsingborg. Situated atop a hill, this well-preserved medieval tower offers a commanding aerial vista of the city and the Öresund strait. For an even more elevated perspective, visitors can ascend the tower, where panoramic views unfold, showcasing the urban layout and the surrounding landscape. The grounds surrounding Kärnan feature a charming park, providing a pleasant environment to enjoy the scenery and appreciate the historical context of this notable site.

Nice landmark with a beautiful view of Helsingborg and even a view of Denmark. Inside there are rooms which explain a lot of history in Sweden and Helsingborg, and there is even 3 short 3d films with easy to understand history. The main tower building is only open in summer as far as I know. One bad thing is that it is a lot of stairs...a lot of them. There is also a nice park to walk around in.

It is so beautiful on a sunny day. You can literally see the ocean from the top. The castle is closed as of now. So you cannot climb it up.

A great site to visit, historical, clean and well preserved. An extraordinary panoramic view of the east coast of the city. A large green area around the top and next to the boulevard. By paying, you can enter inside the tower, everything else can be visited at any time.

Kärnan (The Core) in Helsingborg, Sweden, is an imposing medieval tower, the last remaining structure of a once-mighty castle. Its strategic location overlooking the Øresund Strait offers panoramic views of the city and the Danish coast. Climbing the narrow spiral staircase to the top is rewarded with a breathtaking vista. While the tower itself is relatively bare, the historical significance and the stunning views make it a worthwhile visit for history buffs and sightseers alike.

Yelp
If you for any reason are visiting Helsingborg, there is actually not much to be recommended for the sightseeing. This little castle should be included in any case within your To-Do-List. It is located very centrally, very close to the harbor, Central Station and some of main hotels in the city. It is not very high, offers anyway amazing view across the city. There are also some benches on the top for sitting and relaxing.

Yelp
There is not much left of the castle here. The Swedes demolished a lot of it to stop the Dane's getting a foothold on this side again, which seems rather defeatist to me...sounds like the kind of tactic English football coaches might employ! It was originally built by the Danes themselves as this part of Sweden was part of Denmark for many years Still the view from up top is nice and it only costs a couple of pounds equivalent to go up there (and they are sympathetic regarding counterfeit notes that you got given earlier (http://www.qype.co.uk/review/1091808) )
