Jay Ho Karni Mata. Holy place, feels great here. Too many mice, probably world's the largest population of mice - mopulation at one place here. Those are semi domesticated, fed, roam freely and seemingly not harming anyone.

Temple is situated in Deshnok, which is around 45 kilometers away from Bikaner. Unique temple. So many mice are present there. They might walk on your foot. Small queue in temple. Mice are present even in local shops in temple campus including sweet shops. Devotees feed those mice present in temple. Parking is available. Washroom facility is available but it is not clean. Deshnok railway station is around 50 meters away.

It is in Deshnoke 30 km far from Bikaner city, if you are going bikaner then easliy go here by auto/cab. I had heard a lot of this temple which was difficult to believe but it's true there are lots of Rats and this temple is dedicated to rats only. You will find rats every where in mandir premises, prasad etc. Should must visit this place for a different believe & experience.

This temple is a testament of how far humans can go for their believes. The temple is dedicated to Karni Mata, she was a queen of Bikaner in the olden days who the local considers to be an incarnation of mata parvati. According to the legends the queen never died but had taken the form of white rat and mingles around the temple and surrounding area. All the rats in the premises are believed to be descendants of Karni Mata who took the form of rats after their death. The rats enjoy princely status here, where everybody feeds them sweets, milk and other confectionaries. For us it was little hard to fathom as the place stank of rats feces and utterly unclean, a clear invitation for disease. Beliefs are ok, but seeing people eating rat's leftovers as prasad was more than we could have digest.

This Temple is totally different from any other temples in India. This Temple is surrounded with Rats specially known as "Kabba" (they are children of Maa Karni) and one can see them all over the Temple( around 20000 Rats lives there currently). It's believed by each and every person who visits here that the Kabba don't cause any disease, when we will get in contact with them or eat the prasad (temple offering mainly food and water that is offered to a deity during worship, or puja) which was already offered to Kabba, because of the Maa Karni's miracle. Not only the Kabba also the wonderful architecture of the Temple attracts the Tourists and worshipper The intricate marble facade, silver doors, and gold decorations add to the temple’s appeal. Inside, the temple’s grand marble courtyard and ornate carvings reflect traditional Rajasthani architectural craftsmanship. Jay ma karni 🙏 Karni Mata Temple is a famous Hindu temple located in Bikaner district of Rajasthan . The idol of Goddess Karni Mata is installed in it. It is located in Deshnok , 30 km south of Bikaner . The sight of a white rat in the temple is considered auspicious. About 25000 rats live in this holy temple !

The temple is unique because of the many rats that live there, which are considered sacred. The architecture is beautiful, and the place feels peaceful despite the crowds. However, the rats might be uncomfortable for some, and cleanliness could be better. Still, it’s an interesting and different experience worth seeing.
