We had a wonderful stay at this adorable hotel. Check in was a breeze. We were traveling as a family of 4 -- 2 parents and 2 20s/late teens kids. We stayed in a two-room suite, which was perfect. The room was clean, and the beds were comfortable. The hotel's included breakfast was awesome and a great way to start each day of our stay. Note that the hotel's elevator is tiny, so we had to go up in shifts, or use the stairs. I tended to take the elevator up and the stairs on the way down. This wasn't a problem, but it's a good thing to know before you book. ||I would give this hotel 5 stars, but I took off a star for three reasons:||1. It took forever for the shower water to get hot. We had to turn the knob to the hottest setting, wait a while, and then regulate the temperature once the hot water made it to the shower. That was frustrating. Also, the hotel provides shampoo and body wash but no hair conditioner. ||2. With our room we were provided 1 old-school key with a giant keychain that had the hotel's name and room number on it. That is a huge security issue. If I were a woman traveling solo (which I often am for work), that would make me not stay here.||3. Our room could only lock with the key -- from both inside and outside. This is a fire hazard. It also was a problem when 3 of us left the room, and 1 stayed behind. Because we only had one key (and apparently, there is only one key), we had to leave him with the key, and he had to lock it from the inside. He then had to lock the room and bring the key with him when he left to meet us later in the day. ||I thought this hotel was super cute, and we had a good stay there. But the issues with the key might keep me from booking again if we have the opportunity to go back to Vienna.

A lovely hotel in Vienna, it is not in the main traffic area which we enjoy. It has a rooftop garden you can enjoy, coffe is available all day, everything is in walking distance. The room was very clean. Breakfast was delicious, the staff is very friendly and efficient.

The location is perfect, off the beaten path in first district, so quiet, however easily walkable to nearby attractions. The staff are very friendly. The hotel is very clean, quaint and offers an amaz8ng breakfast. Definitely reccommended for a perfect stay in Vienna.

This hotel is an absolute jewel. It is tucked away in a quiet corner of the Inner Stadt which makes it a short walk to everything and the perfect base of operations for your stay in Vienna. Rooms are meticulously clean, tastefully decorated, and comfortable. The property has lovely period details but has been refurbished with all the modern comforts. My 8 y/o asked if we could live there. Speaking of which we were in the family/triple room which was perfect for our family's stay. Breakfast is cozy, yummy and the perfect start. The staff is absolutely wonderful, especially the front desk crew. I would happily return.

Stayed here on our first time visit to Vienna with the family. We had a wonderful week stay here. The staff here is very efficient, check in and check out awesome. We had the spacious Dom Suite which were two good sized rooms and separate toilet and separate two sink bathroom and shower. Very clean and very comfortable. Note: the elevator goes to 5th floor, the room was 6th floor so one extra flight of stairs to carry luggage but gentleman at reception offered someone to carry luggage if needed. Enjoyed their Art Deco style elevator, tile and stairwell. One of the major perks was their awesome, plentiful, breakfast with hard working, highly attentive breakfast supervisor and team. Impressed. Loved the espresso machine, hot meals, grain bread, muesli, fresh fruit, cold cuts, cheeses, muffins. Great location near the Schwedenplatz metro and Stephanplatz. Very walkable location to many of the sites and first rate restaurants and shops. Hotel was quiet and located in an area that was safe and quiet. Overall wonderful stay and would definitely come back again.

We chose Hotel Kärntnerhof based on the glowing reviews on TripAdvisor, but unfortunately, our experience fell far short of expectations. We were hoping for charming old Viennese decor with an upmarket feel, but instead, we found the hotel in need of a complete refurbishment—especially the rooms.||The decor was very tired and dated, and the bathroom was particularly in need of an update. To make matters worse, there was no hot water in the mornings, likely due to everyone using it at the same time. The walls were paper thin, and we could hear everything from the room next door, making it hard to relax. The floor at the entrance to our room was in poor condition, and while the bed itself was fairly comfortable, the pillows were lumpy and odd.||On a positive note, the location is good, and the breakfast was reasonably decent, but nothing exceptional. Overall, this hotel did not offer good value for money, and we left feeling quite disappointed. We really don’t understand why most reviews are so positive—unless we were just unlucky with our room.||Unless significant renovations are made, I wouldn’t recommend it

Very nice hotel. Old lifts which are nice. Friendly staff. Breakfast is nice with some cooked options. Great location near to the Stephenplatz which has a tram and tube stop. But also in a quiet area. Only thing that was disappointing is there is no kettle in rooms, you can make your own tea in reception but only in the afternoons.

Yelp
Location is amazing. Hotel was clean. Breakfast was nice, they even let me have an early breakfast. Check in was no problem, staff was helpful. Wi-Fi worked well. TV has channels from many countries. There is no AC but a nice breeze came form the window. Hotel decor was nice. Room was decent size. I guess only downside was restroom and bathroom were two different rooms, but not a big deal.
