Karon Viewpoint Phuket

Karon Viewpoint is a beautiful scenic spot in Phuket offering a stunning panoramic view of the Andaman Sea. From here, visitors can see three famous beaches—Kata Noi, Kata, and Karon—all in one frame. The viewpoint is easy to access, well-maintained, and perfect for photography. It’s especially lovely during late afternoon when the light is soft and the view is clear. Though it can get crowded, the peaceful ocean views make it worth the stop. A must-visit for nature lovers and first-time visitors to Phuket. 🌊🌴

Beautiful view. Plenty of spots to take photos. However, it is a bit of a tourist trap, but it’s not obnoxious. You can find some spots to sit down and just take it in without being bombarded with people trying to sell you stuff.

Nice view point overlooking the beach. There are several layers depending on your mobility. Lovely views but not much else there. See the white Buddha fat on the distance on top of there hill.

We visited Karon Viewpoint on 1st October as part of a city sightseeing tour with our family (2 adults and 2 kids). It was one of the most scenic stops on our trip. From the top, you get a breathtaking panoramic view of Phuket’s famous beaches — Patong, Karon, and Kata — lined up beautifully along the coastline. On the opposite side, you can also spot the majestic Big Buddha sitting atop Nakkerd Hill, which makes the view even more impressive. Historically known as *Three Beaches Hill* or *Kata Viewpoint*, this spot has long been a popular stop for both locals and tourists to admire Phuket’s natural beauty. It’s an important landmark because it perfectly captures the island’s charm — the mix of green hills, turquoise waters, and golden beaches in one frame. The place is well maintained, with viewing platforms and shaded areas to relax and take photos. Our kids loved the open space and the fresh breeze at the top. Overall, Karon Viewpoint is a must-visit for anyone who wants to experience the best of Phuket’s landscape and enjoy a bit of peace away from the busy beaches.

The viewpoint is good, but it is very far from Phuket city. So, if someone has some free time before catching a flight or there's no plan on that day may visit this place or this can be skipped.

The Karon Viewpoint Thai name is Kho Sam Haad, which means ‘The Hill of the Three Beaches’, and once we reached the place, just as promised, we saw three beaches. So, if this is your first trip to Phuket, you probably will stop for a few minutes at this popular and beautiful panoramic landmark to admire the view from the top of the hill. The closest and smallest one is Kata Noi Beach. A bit further, we could see the beautiful Kata Beach with its island ‘Koh Poo’, which means Crab Island, and far, we could also spot the very long beach of Karon.

Karon Viewpoint has amazing panoramic views of the coastline, and you can even spot the Big Buddha in the distance. Make sure to walk down the steps. You’ll find beautiful trees, better views, and some nice shade to relax in. Easy stop, great photos, and absolutely worth it.
