Must say the setting is rather funky, it just feels as though you are out of town, food was great, though the portions are not big. In the lamb shoulder dish i had the piece of lamb was not even 200g, but very tasty. Service was fine, not great but was friendly. Definitely worth a visit and the menu has some interesting items you won't see elsewhere, worth a visit.

Enjoyed a very hearty breakfast and had to resist licking my fingers off. The atmosphere was very homely and cosy. The fireplace was lit and provided relief from the cold. The staff was attentive and the service great. Bonus; it has a bookshop, and Suzette is just lovely.

Last Friday night I found myself in a really artistic space at Karoo Cafe...with a very South African menu...bobotie, mosbolletjies, ouma rusks and koffee, roosterbrood lamb burgers, koeksisters, pepermintcrisp tart...familiar but not my usual fare so I settled for roasted marrow bones (average in comparison to what I have tasted at other places) washed down with a glass or two of Rose...service was also slow but I put it down to the evening event....listening to the music of the young artists... voices taking us down memory lane...a relaxed evening, in a really lovely space and seated with really nice people...I would happily return to this space to enjoy the cozy nooks I spied, and enjoy a good read and a cuppa...but also to experience on a normal service day...

Lovely place to sit and relax. A lot of effort goes into creating a homely, upper-class farm-style dish and a rural, edgy atmosphere. The French Toast with banana and bacon is to die for:)

Went for breakfast at this lovely establishment. Lovely calming atmosphere with a self-made water feature. Ample safe parking on the premises. They serve breakfast, light meals, and lunch. Lovely generous portions and the food and service were tops. We each had the cuppaccino double shot (R38). My friend had the pumpkin fritters with bacon, brie, rocket and cherry relish (R97) and I had the chorizo, mozzarella, sundried tomato and basil pesto (R99). It was lovely! They have a second-hand bookstore and an art gallery on the premises. Marshall, a gentle giant greatdane slumber on the couches and comes and greets you personally. I will definitely be back to do a lunch.

They provide an awesome service, and the new management is making good strides when it comes to providing awesome service for the customers. The atmosphere at Karoo Cafe is awesome, and it feels like home away from home! The meals is delicious with a nice and wide variety of options to choose from! I can recommend going to them any day of the week!

I had the banana bread. It was extremely dry. And with only 2 very tiny pieces of banana on top the presentation was really not looking like anything. No creamed honey as on menu. When i asked for honey, a bottle of regular honey was placed on the table. Definitely not worth paying R105 for two very dry pieces of banana bread. 😔 ....I really expected more.....
