We enjoyed our stay here. We had driven along the Snowy River Mountain drive which had steep and narrow roads. It was nice to be able to check in at 9pm at night (they're flexible but you must inform them first). It was fairly easy to find in the dark as there were signs for accommodation once you hit Gelantipy. You arrive into a community area full of little cabins and the main reception is further in where the big 'Karoonda Park' sign is on their wall. You check in at the cafeteria where we where we found the staff at the back working in the kitchen. There are no locks and all the buildings are left open so people here are very trusting. Of course you can always leave any valuables in the car if you're worried. All cabins can lock from the inside though. They sell basic foods in case you're all out such as cereals, snacks, milk and tea/coffee. They gave us some drinking water for our cottage (the water comes from the river which is cloudy white so some people may not like this).||We went into our cottage which was a lovely, old and had lots of character. There was a master bedroom with a Queen bed and a second bedroom with two bunk beds and a single. There is a self-contained kitchen with stove, microwave, kettle, pots, pans, plates, cutlery and fridge. The lounge had a lovely working fireplace and a separate toilet and shower room. All very clean and lovely!||The rate was $150 a night for a couple at the cottage which we thought was reasonable considering we had the whole place to ourselves with everything we need. The views are nothing special, some trees and fields. There is a petrol station, swimming pool, pigs, games room, badminton, boulder climbing and breakfast facilities on site. ||Shower was working OK, fresh towels available and also plenty of spare blankets as well as a heater. We used the tap water for cooking and it was fine.||Very convenient to do local sight-seeing such as Buchan Caves or Snowy River Mountain Drive.||No internet or phone reception but we didn't mind.||Owners are friendly, who live a few miles away from the property. If you need petrol you have to press their intercom to get them to come down and fill you up. It's only a 5 minute wait and reasonable priced. ||If you do the drive coming from the East side, stop at Tubbut. There is a honey farmer there selling buckets of honey that taste like toffee! Only $7 for 1kg of honey - delicious! It's an honest box so please don't steal and pay by placing money in the jar. Support local farmers! :)||Would recommend this place to friends and have done!
