I love everything about in this restaurant! From the ambiance, wines, to the roasted duck and music! Is it so fantastic ❤️ finding an excellent place to date your special someone in Budapest? I highly recommend Karpatia. Please note the live violin music will start to serenade you at 8pm😍😊

Very grand restaurant with beautiful decor and really good food. When we entered the front door, we were greeted by the host but we were a bit taken back as the front of the restaurant was absolutely empty! We thought the restaurant was closed or we just entered a tourist trap. But the host reassured us that the restaurant was open and took us to the back room where the diners were. There were live music and quite a few big groups (perhaps festive dinner at this time of the year?). Food was very good with attentive service. I highly recommend this place.

Wonderful gourmet experience. You shouldn’t miss this place if you are in Budapest. You can eat authentic Hungarian cuisine at this high class restaurant. You can enjoy live gipsy music as well.

Very nice. Staff is kind and professional. They speak English and a bit of everything. Food is great, actually beyond expectations. The atmosphere is compelling and dark like in a vampire movie of the 50's. The gipsy band is noisy but romantic in its own way and after all worth it. Don't get the welcome drink: it's not free. (E a questo proposito grazie Giulio Rolfini per la recensione utile e piena di info rilevanti.)

A very cool restaurant with old world feel. You could be dining in the 19th century. The food was superb and the staff very friendly. It loses two stars for being overly expensive. In a city where it can be hard to spend money the main lunch course of venison was 28 euro about twice the average in a good restaurant in Budapest. Having said that the meal and atmosphere, though a little quiet, was top class.

The experience was nice, the staff was super friendly and very attentive. Food was good, not excellent but real good! A bit on the pricier side but not so bad concidering there was live music.

If you value your hard earned money and time, don’t set foot in this place. If you do, there’s a very good chance you’ll fall for the charm of a waiter in a smart suit and tie. That will be an unfortunate mistake for you, and probably the last time you’ll smile in the hours that follow. Where do I even start? This was one the WORST meals I’ve EVER had. At the average price of €17-20 per course, it’s pretty shocking. - Be warned, the waiters don’t know the menu. They dangerously recommend dishes that aren’t safe for allergen free customers. - Hot rice, cold sauce. Yin and yang is good, but not like this. - Overcooked, chewy, oily meat. - Bland burnt dumplings. - Salt overload. - Check the reviews- it seems you’ll be charged if a musician plays at your table. - 12% compulsory service charge. That always rings alarm bells for me. Surely it’s more of an effort to cook a dish this badly than it is to make an even average standard dish?? We actually received a 100% discount for a meal after complaining, and credit to the manager at his friendly efforts at the end. But nothing can make up for the waste of an evening, and 1 star is all it deserves.
