There are places that feel like home and are a must-visit every time you return. Karura Forest is one of those places. The nature walks are truly unique — you feel relaxed, energized, and above all, calm. It’s yoga in nature, and nothing compares to that feeling once you’re done.
This has been my sanctuary whenever I visit Kenya. I love the morning walks there. A few years ago, while hiking, I had some dried mango in my bag. When I opened the zipper, two baboons started chasing me. I immediately dropped the mango, and they stopped — a clear reminder that you’re always being watched in the forest, so no food allowed. It was a great experience nonetheless.
This year, we enjoyed a much more peaceful walk. Don’t forget to touch some of the oldest trees and soak in the positive energy. I highly recommend this place if you’re ever in Nairobi.
Cheers,
