Best place ever! They have karaoke many nights and gave free tequila shots everytime you sang! The vibes are amazing and the view is gorgeous. Furthermore they always end at 10pm so you would always get some good sleep!

We stayed here for 3 nights in a private double and had a fanatic stay! The rooftop view and bar is perfect for sunrise / sunset views and also to chill during the day. It has a great kitchen and is close to the main square. Tom is so, so helpful and available for anything you need. What I was so impressed about was the warm welcome and the huge amount of usual information they provide for hiking and tours. Tom will help you arrange any guided hike or tour but also give you all the details you need if you want to do hikes and day trips alone, without paying for a guide / tour. They are so honest and it is was so refreshing to stay somewhere that generally wants you to enjoy your time and is not focused on trying to sell you extra services. We will absolutely stay at Kasa Kiwi anytime we come to Xela.

Excellent hostel in the centre of town. Our private room was huge, with lots of natural light and a great bathroom. The hostel runs plenty of day trips and shuttle services. We took one day trip and a shuttle service, they were well priced and well organised.

Awesome hostel, for a great price. Tom (the owner) is amazingly helpful in planning and everything else. It’s great to see an owner active in his own business. Free filtered water, shared kitchen, and large lockers outside the rooms. Bathrooms are limited, but I didn’t have to wait. There is a bar on top of the hostel, that is sometimes loud, but the music does stop around 9:45pm.

It's definitely hard to get a good night's sleep in this hostel, both due to noise from the street and fellow hostel guests. In the private room, cleanliness was really fine. Facilities are a bit dated and only two burners worked in the kitchen which made cooking a very slow experience. As a solo female traveller I felt safe. It's pretty cheap. Overall it was okay for a night, but I would not come back.

Tom, the owner, is a great and honest guy who gives you a lot of information and tips. He don't want to sell you tours - he even encourages you to do hikes on your own and supports to connect with others who want to do the same hike. The Deluxe room has all you need and is very spacious. The kitchen is in good condition and clean. Furthermore we liked that the nice rooftop bar is also open to locals so you can connect easily with them - much more interesting as just staying in the "traveller's bubble" like in some other hostels. Thanks for the great time!

Great place for a stay in Xela - The stuff is friendly and helps with arranging tours - if the owner Tom isn't there he's very available on WhatsApp. The location is very close to the main square. There's a nice clean kitchen with some passive aggressive signs where you can socialize. Dorms have wide beds (no bunk beds). The bathroom is quite basic and there are only two of them for the dorms, and the shower is electric. That's the only down side. The private rooms are quite descent as well.

What stood out to me the most about Kasa Kiwi were the owners - they were both present, kind, and knowledgeable, and honest. I booked a tour of the hot springs nearby for my birthday and was driven to the hot springs by one of the owners and they even helped me find a birthday cake! They know the area and treat their guests well. Facilities were clean and well maintained and the rooftop bar was gorgeous! Not the most social atmosphere when I was there, but I think that’s due to the hostel not being super full. Thanks Kasa Kiwi!
