Kasa Tambla - Hotel Ponta do Sol

Perfect location just next to the fishing port. Ponta do Sol is probably the best place to stay to do all the hikes of the area and enjoy your evenings. The room at the rooftop with private terrasse and 360° views was amazing! Very bright and breezy, and you can enjoy the sunrise and the sunset! Kind and helpful staff 🙏

I'd say the best choice of hotel in Ponte do Sol. Rooms spacious, clean and modern, bed extremely comfortable, black-out curtains so the light doesn't wake you, and a complimentary bottle of water. Breakfast absolutely the best, changes every day.... pancakes, pudding, cheese, fruit, fritters... fresh juice and huge cups of coffee, plus a selection of other foods if necessary. There is a cool green garden on the ground floor, and seating on the 3rd floor overlooking the sea. Rooms vary in shape, size and orientation. Staff welcoming and friendly, speak English or French. Just off the sea front opposite the fishing port, so plenty to look at!

We stayed 3 nights. The rooms are simple but clean and confortable. The breakfast is really nice with a lot of variety of local products. The staff is teally friendly and they have a lot of information about different routes, transport and everything you need for your stay in Santo Antaõ. Highly recommended!

Very nice accommodation with comfortable rooms right by the harbor of Ponta de Sol. The terrace is the perfect place to enjoy the sunset. The French owner and his team are helpful in organizing the journey from the harbor and the hikes. Very good breakfast. As in the rest of the country, the WiFi is not always reliable . Getting to the starting points of the hikes is not cheap. You have to expect to pay 25 to 40 € per trip if you are not lucky and can take a collectivo. There are a few restaurants in town, but I didn't find any of them particularly good.

Stayed for four very comfortable nights here. We were in Ocean which had windows of some description on all four walls so would have been really easy to keep room airy had we needed to ( it never got too hot whilst we were there but we did appreciate the ventilation).||Large comfy bed in room, sofa and tea and coffee making facilities. Ensuite. Views over the working harbour and upsettingly onto the courtyard (with 10ft high blank walls) of a building which was filled with rubble and a trye which was home to one sad little dog which slept on the tyre. Clearly getting fed and watered otherwise would likley have died whilst we were there) but nothing else. It barked a lot ( due to lack of company and stimulation?). Never saw anyone go near it. the street dogs were definitely better off.||Fantastic base for walking. we could get taxis and do linear walks or arrange a pick up. |This is stunning island but not for beach or "do nothing" holidays. Beaches were often inaccessible, stony or just dangerous. ||Thought Tequila the hotel dog was sooo friendly- then discovered she just wanted my water! after that she was polite.||All staff very lovely and helpful.||Would recommend

Stayed one night (booked by travel agency). Well located near the port. No elevator and narrow staircase; fortunately, the staff helped me take my luggage up three flights of stairs.|Clean room with good lighting and desk area. Comfortable bed and pillows. No electric kettle. Purified water provided. There is no A/C (not needed in January at night, not sure in summer); a fan is provided.|Sufficient number of power jacks.|Bathroom with everything in working order.|Wifi worked well.|Decent breakfast.

Very well located with view on the small harbour, the waves and the ocean. Some rooms are really spacious. Very friendly owner and employees. Good breakfast. Library with plenty of maps and books for trekking and other activities. Excursions can be organised from the hotel.
