Kassai is such a solid neighborhood spot. The fish is always fresh, the rolls are delicious, and the prices are super reasonable. Staff is friendly and the service is quick. Definitely one of my go-to places for sushi in the area with family n friend

Randomly found this spot and WOW the sushi here is really good! The lady was super nice to my family and very helpful. She would always come by to check if everything was good. The sushi tasted fresh and it was filled with flavor. I recommend you try the Spider man it’s amazing!

Honestly, out of all the sushi places I've been to, this was my least favorite. The service was extremely slow. The food was decent. Staff was mainly on their cell phone. The price was good. I personally don't recommend this restaurant, though. The food looked good, too.

Great place to have dinner with friends. I was there on my vacation trip and the food was amazing, service was excellent too. Highly recommended to anyone who wants to visit Denver and looking for great restaurants in that area.

Been coming here for 10+years and yet Kassai is still the best sushi for the value in, and around Denver. Top quality and fresh fish makes everything you order a work of delicious art. Presentation and extremely friendly staff environment makes you feel like they are always there for YOU.

Got an order for pick up, did not eat in but everything was amazing. The food was delicious and they added extra sides/complements in with the order. They took very good care of separating sauces and other things in the order so it would keep well! Additionally, was super super quick and everyone was very nice. Was very well prices for the amount of food we got.

NOT BAD! little mom and pop and off the beaten path but great food. Authentic taste not small portions. Everything I tried tasted great. I don't have pictures of the sushi cause I was really hungry but that was pretty good too.

Went here for me and my twins birthday while I was in town. Food was really good! Sake was delicious. Our server was hilarious because my friend said "I'll take two" and she said "of what?!" And we cracked up!! Their smoked salmon nigiri was buttery and delicious. I can see why my bro and his wife like this place. We enjoyed it!

Yet again, Kassai delivers an amazing dinner experience. We've never been disappointed by food or service. They have killer quality and it is so refreshing to come back to a staple and know you'll get what you're expecting. I will forever be convinced that the only reason this place isn't absolutely packeddd is because of location being off the beaten path. Quality, price, service 10/10

Came in for our first visit. Parking spaces should be available most times of the week. Not too busy on a Saturday night. The food was good. They almost met my expectations of amazing. The service was the same. Good versus amazing. The ambiance was chill with the vibe inside. At one point someone was cleaning with some very strong smelling chemicals. Talk about a scent you do not want to smell while enjoying dinner. We may come back for more in the future. But most likely will only visit a couple times a year. I have higher expectations when spending $100 bucks with tip.

Can't even finish. Afraid the food will make me sick. Should've known better getting sushi in Denver but I gave it a shot. Waste of money

Lexi & I went here last night for a sushi date! And like usual it didn't disappoint! The Mexico roll is my favorite and I will get it every time. The gyozas were crispy and flavorful! Lexi loves salmon so she always gets a roll that has salmon and of course the salmon nigiri! Our server was excellent! She was nice, and attentive! Anytime we need sushi this is our favorite spot that isn't too expensive! Dan & Lexi

Doordash review for Kassai. Honestly the sushi was decent for the area. I know sushi generally more $$$ than other cuisine but I did feel like for a $50 meal (3 rolls), the size of the rolls and quality of the fish could have been better. I did not like the jazz roll as the black pepper taste did not mesh well with the tuna. The other rolls were decent, but nothing mind blowing. I also think they were using overcooked rice cause some of the rice in the rolls were crunchy af. Wished my to go order came with complimentary miso soup or house salad, but I might have been spoiled by sushi establishments back at home.

I ordered a teriyaki salmon bento box. The soup and salad was good. The California roll was good. But the piece of salmon was really small and over cooked. And the yakitori was inedible. It was so overcooked, I had to throw it away. I will try the restaurant again one day since it's near my workplace.

I've eaten here 2 times, so I decided to right a review after my second experience. My first experience I give it a 3 out of 5 and decided to give it another go because it was close to where I live and needed a quick meal before work and flight the next morning. Why the one star review? Food Poisoning. This was my first meal of the day after working night shift and I was back for a second night of work. I ordered the spicy scallop, Tokyo and Manhattan roll. The Tokyo and Manhattan roll were mediocre at best, typical American Japanese sushi where the sauce and extra ingredients over power the overall taste of the sushi. Fish was decently fresh and wasn't fishy. The tuna wasn't that deep red and obvious and was ok to the taste. The spicy scallop roll was where it went wrong. This was the only roll my gf did not eat and she was fine the whole night and next morning. I ate about 3 or 4 pieces of the roll until I noticed a bad taste, it was bitter and did not have the sweetness from a fresh scallop. The first bite was bitter, and then the final was rancid. I thought it was me at first but it was obvious that the scallop was bad. I went to work and by 9pm I was wretching and having the runs. I work as an RN and I knew it was the scallop roll and that I contracted food poisoning from it. I vomited 4 more times and was stuck in our staff restroom for 30 minutes. After 2 barf bags later and 4 BMs later, I went home. Adding insult to injury, I had a flight to Norway the next morning that I had to endure. What a way to kickstart my vacation in September :) The bathroom was terminally cleaned for the rest of the staff to use .

The sushi was so good and the service was fast. The Monkey brains and Bird's Nest were 10/10.

I would not return. The sushi was not good and tasted fishy. The calamari tasted stale. I don't expect fresh seafood in Denver, but this was not good at all.

Yummy lunch specials, super friendly staff that are always cleaning. There are a ton of unique fancy rolls- loads of spicy options.

Order in writing and explained the spice edinamie for an appetizer a. Brought when they served main course and it was barely warm b. 43 minutes 2. Again we ordered in writing the spicy toro roll $16.95 a. It was NOT brought out so the waitress asked if we still wanted it DUH b. After we had finished and were sitting for about ten minutes waitress asks if we still wanted it (really?) 3. My wife ordered and point out on the menu she wanted a Pinot Grigio and got a Pinot Noir instead (replaced about 5 minutes later) 4. Oh you want napkins ...half way through our meal we each got one flimsy napkin 5. Had to ask for wasabi It was not crowded in fact there were many wait staff standing around. NO HERE COMES THE WORSE IT SMELLED LIKE BAD FISH....HOPING I DONT GET SICK TONIGHT

I gave them another go and happily increase my stars to 5/5! Ordered off DoorDash on a Tuesday night and my food was ready & delivered quickly. They put a cardboard box under the sushi container in the brown paper bag in came in to ensure the sushi stayed nice and intact. Very thoughtful! I tried 2 new sushis from my last visit, and was happy to see they were much bigger than before. In the attached photo I had transferred the sushi to a platter so you can see the ingredients better. MIA roll (left) - shrimp tempura, cream cheese, jalapeño, topped with spicy tuna. Not too much cream cheese, generous amount of spicy tuna. Jalapeño gives it a nice crunch and punch! New York roll (right) - tuna, avocado, topped with salmon So good! Can't wait to order again.

Great spot Tim and time again. Also, they will let you deep fry almost and roll. And their Ebi app is a go to.

I really wanted to like this restaurant a lot more based on recommendations from a close friend. Overall the experience was fine but I believe could've been a lot better. They appear to be very short staffed which added to my 2 star rating. We all received menus but explanations of the different types of sushi and what was included was not very clear. The The sushi was good but the rice wasn't packed very well, it would fall apart on picked up with either chopstick or your fingers. Once the waitress took her initial order we never really saw her again so we didn't get refills of any of our drinks without getting up to ask. We also had to ask for more napkins chopsticks etc. my wife got the teriyaki chicken which was actually really good probably the best food out of all of our orders. I will definitely get that again. I may try this restaurant again in the future and hopefully they'll be fully staffed so I can get a better feeling for their customer service.

The food was very aesthetic + tasty! I come here very often and I'm always so happy with the service and quality. The servers and managers/owners are very kind and attentive!

Expect a reasonably priced sushi meal with all the usuals and originality in Kassai's special rolls like Hot Night, Thunder, Soicy Girl and Angel Rolls. And the California rolls are solid - a legit sushi spot has gotta have good Cali rolls. They prepare with fresh ingredients and have a daily sushi happy hour (per piece about $2-$2.50 dine in only). Great place for a cheap(er) date until you decide to open the wallet for an up-scale place! The service is attentive and the decor is hopeful. It's tucked into a retail strip but don't let that drive you away. Bring your family and friends and enjoy.

I've been highly disappointed with the sushi restaurants here in Denver until I came across this neighborhood gem! Fresh, artistic, beautiful presentations, and absolutely mouth watering. Kassai, you have a new regular customer! Can't wait to introduce my friends to your orgasmic cuisine

Perfect neighborhood sushi spot near Lowry and Central Park. Recently dined in after a snowy week on a Friday night with a group of girlfriends. We ordered off of the specialty menu near the bar - Mars roll, Ninja Roll (Shrimp tempura, spicy tuna inside;eel and avocado outside), sashimi dinner 15pc, calamari appetizer, dinner box B, yakitori appetizer, some other specialty nigiri/rolls and an Oyaku donburi. The quality of the sushi is good but not the best. The sashimi looked great but definitely didn't taste as fresh and I probably wouldn't order of the sashimi 15pc dinner again. Unfortunately there was definitely not the freshest taste and not a lot of flavor. I do suggest ordering the calamari appetizer and other Japanese dish entrees that are cooked. The calamari appetizer was delicious and perfectly seasoned and fried. On that night of dining in, the yakitori appetizer was dry and difficulty to chew but still tasty. My friends love this neighborhood sushi spot and I would go back because of the friendly service and nice dining atmosphere. However I would go to other sushi spots nearby or in the Aurora/Denver area if I had the option or I would order non sashimi, sushi items or cooked items. In the past I've ordered take out and other items on their menu like their Chicken Katsu, tempura, hamachi kama, Katsu don, unagi don and more. I do recommend ordering the hamachi Kama or the tempura. They also have a good miso soup and salad with a delicious house made ginger dressing that comes complimentary with some dinner sets. The restaurant does do a great job with take out and packaging with care. Dining in: The staff was very accommodating and very friendly. On a Friday night parking was a little challenging, and a little icy in the lot but definitely recommend carpooling if in a group due to limited parking on a busy evening.

We have visited Kassai 4 times and have loved it each time. We especially enjoy the spicy edamame and the specialty rolls. Prices are very reasonable, and servers are professional and friendly. Highly recommend!

Favorite sushi spot in Denver! The yellowtail jalapeño is our favorite sushi roll. Everything is so fresh and delicious and the service is always great. Be sure to check out the specials on their board. Happy to be regulars here :)

This place is great for the area, I just feel like the the sushi isn't very good quality. It's definitely on the lower end of the spectrum especially with the prices they charge. Maybe they need a new distributor because for the amount I paid I am very disappointed, there was drama going on between the servers. They seem to prioritize to go orders more then people actually sitting in the restaurant. Hopefully it gets better. There main entrees are all consistent and good though, I would stick to those!

Great food! The prices are pretty standard for sushi, and well worth it. The sashimi 15 or 18 piece is an incredible deal with large portions or fresh fish! Yelp checkin also gets you a complimentary hot sake. They have a daily happy hour but I'll have to explore that another time to see what that entails. Definitely recommend.

Okay, irrespective of the fact that their nigiri is just a skinny piece of fish on sushi rice, two of us got violently ill 6 hours after eating there. Based upon our Gross observations...we are fairly certain that what made us ill was their salmon skin roll. We have tried to reach out to them. They do not have a legitimate website. They have no contact email. We called several times but only got a voice message. No call back. Please keep our experience in mind before deciding to eat their food.

For being such a small place, they seem to do great business. It's good! Hubs doesn't eat fish, let along sushi - but he was impressed with vegetable tempura. Mostly the standards on this this menu, so do t come looking for unique rolls.... but what they do, they do well! And the staff was super friendly. we were there for a late lunch. It's so close to home for us that we order frequently.

Really nice people in here. Their sushi is excellent, fresh, and a good value. When I get delivery, it's also extremely quick and well-packaged. I particularly love their dinner boxes and their unagi don, which feel like great meals for the value. So happy to live close to Kassai.

This place is delicious and has a very chill vibe. Plus I checked in on Yelp (my first time ever) and I got a free sake! Score! The fish tasted fresh and the service was good. It wasn't overly crowded which is hard to come by in Denver these days. For sushi prices it was reasonable; looks like I have a new go-to spot!

"Never judge a book by its cover." Well, Kassai Sushi is a prime example of that old adage! SPACE/ATMOSPHERE: Upon parking it looks like a little hole in the wall sushi joint. Not the kind of place I usually frequent for a sushi fix. However you walk in and everything is sleek and modern. Just what you'd expect in fabulous sushi restaurant! EATS: Everything was fantastic! I noshed on the Spicy Crab, Fire Cracker, and Mexico rolls. My eyes were faaar larger than my stomach, so I had leftovers. The Spicy Crab roll was a simple spicy crab mixture with seaweed and rice. The Fire Cracker roll had tuna, jalapeno, and avocado inside, tempura crunch and sriracha sauce outside. Now the Mexico roll was Spicy tuna, cream cheese, and jalapeno, deep fried w/ special sauce. The sauce was a bit sweet to complement the spicy filling. It was delish! I enjoyed all the rolls immensely. DRINKS: There's the usual line up of Japanese beers and sakis. I opted for a small Sapporo. It was the perfect pairing for my sushi meal. They have a Yelp check in offer for a free hot saki! So def redeem that it you're feeling adventurous. SERVICE: The service was great! Servers were very attentive and offered to answer any questions I had over the menu. They checked back with me to ensure I was enjoying my rolls and also inquired about which were my favorites when I was done. So nice! PRICE: Eh. It was just a tad higher than I would've expected. By a couple dollars or so a roll (anywhere from $5 to about $15 a roll, yikes). I'd highly recommend coming here with some friends so you can sample a few different rolls! Or dine in between 4:30 pm and 10 pm for their daily sushi happy hour!! Sometimes the best things are in unsuspecting places. I'd def recommend checking our Kassai Sushi next time you're in the neighborhood!

I first ate here the other week, in person. I came with 2 of my friends, and we had one of the best meals we'd had in a while! I got the Yellowtail Jalapeño (one of my all-time favorites), a few pieces of the happy hour sashimi, and a fried banana with mochi ice cream for dessert. It was so neat because our server arranged my fried bananas and mochi on the same plate in a really cute and fun way. The service here was impeccable, as was the sashimi/sushi. The server made many well-placed suggestions that led us to try many new things during our meal, including 3 different types of saké! The first bottle was free (due to the awesome Yelp! check-in special going on right now!), and our waitress suggested the next 2: one lightly sweetened, sparkling floral saké, and another lightly sweetened plum saké. Both were chilled, and really good! Ordering delivery from here tonight is an honor! (Note: I went with the Poke, 18pc Sashimi Platter, and fried bananas for tonight's order.)

I made a pick up order of 4 rolls last night. I was told it'll be ready within 40 minutes, but had to wait 1 hour for it to be ready. I got home with the food and ate it with my girlfriend. The fish was warm and i didn't give it too much significance because it tasted ok. A few hours later we woke up from sleep both of us with a strong stomachache and we spent the night awake throwing up. Bad and not fresh food is one thing that should never happen when you eat outside and therefore I don't advice you to choose this place.

First impressions: The restaurant looked nice and the menu sounded good, but smells like fish as soon as you walk in. Food: The food definitely looked and sounded better on the menu than it tasted in real life. I wouldn't say that it was bad, but didn't have the freshness and flavors I was expecting. I was hungry enough to eat it though. Otherwise, the menu had a variety of choices, good prices, and good portions. Service: The server was really nice and friendly. No complaints about the staff or service. This wouldn't be my first go to for Japanese food, but I wouldn't be opposed to giving it a second chance.

We wanted to scratch off Kassai Sushi from our "romantic restaurants list" for Valentine's Day Tour 2021 for Nick & I. The restaurant was beautiful inside, super intimate space to get into lovey-dovey talk with your significant, special other or whatever.. The staff were incredible, and definitely trying their hardest to really make our dinner special.. The staff, although sweet, were sooo far behind on online deliveries and just couldn't make our 7:00pm "reservation" to work. I called to make that reservation and the restaurant didn't even take reservations! Just that they promised table vacancy, as it is NOT "usually busy around that time." I decided to put on hold, all other considerations for the other restaurants... I originally was making reservations for a place nearby Wash Park, but wanted something close, because hello? Work tomorrow. Also Colorado's weather was -9! We wouldn't even been able to walk anywhere and enjoy it. We parked, got a glance of the outside, super amorous, then my jaw dropped at the crazy line! Nick and I just accepted our loss, and the hostess was asking us if it's delivery/dine in. We asked for dine in, we actually got our table prioritized. Turns out the first red flag was that line of ONLY online orders. The hostess admitted they were behind schedule and it's going to be a wait. We didn't mind. We came at 7:00pm. It was 8:00pm, and the tea we ordered, completely forgotten about. The sushi didn't come until 8:30pm, the other tables just looked so upset. We were applauding to their chefs, working their tails off. My, they were busy. We got some Edamame on the house, and we got our teas replaced. After that wait, Our Monkey Brains came out and it was just... much to be desired. Tasted strange, bland and the flavors didn't compliment each other. Different flavors, but just didn't mash well. We got our 2 cups of Japanese Hot Tea, WHICH WERE COLD. They charged $5.50 for them. What a joke. The Ebi roll was the only alright roll for $2.00. The Godzilla Roll lacked of flavor, and Nick finished that one. The roll itself wasn't what I liked. The Smoked Salmon tasted stale, and tasteless. THe Alaska Roll was decent, just annoyed how late it was brought out. The 3 Avocado rolls we ordered were actually one of my only ones that I enjoyed. I don't even think they brought out our Salmon Mango Roll. We didn't even stay for dessert, and I always order dessert. This place wasn't for dessert. We ran out of there.

Solid sushi place. Servers were friendly and efficient. All of the dishes were tasty, portions were larger than expected! Presentation of dishes was average. Spices Girl roll- jalapeño, tuna, wrapped in soy wrap Tokyo roll- spicy tuna inside, yellowtail and avocado outside Salmon sashimi- large slices, fresh! Agedashi tofu- big portion for only $5!! Lots of bonito shavings Salmon collar- deep fried, super crisp skin, could maybe use some salt Dessert- fried banana came in slices, tempura fried, drizzled with chocolate and whipped cream. I think the banana slices had been previously frozen? But still sweet and tasty. Mochi- mango and cappuccino, both yummy ALL of this plus a big Sapporo came out to around $65 before tip and we were both quite full. Quite a deal!! We will definitely return.

A very good Park Hill delivery option, especially when you want sushi last-minute. I've ordered from these guys at least twice in the past few months. Get: Sweet potato roll. Theirs is a nice balance of savory and sweet. I also like to soft shell crab with tonkatsu. I've never picked up or dined in, but the sushi is on point.

Don't know why this restaurant gets so many stars. Food is subpar, atmosphere is depressing, and it's unclear what safety protocol are observed ; all together disappointing.

She lives in the area, and recommended the little gem for obvious reasons - which I'll gladly share with you below! ++ They offer a 2 (or 3) roll lunch special, featuring about 15 rolls to choose from for a mere $10! The special includes salad, and soup too! Can't beat that! ++ Food is delicious! I chose to nosh on the special above - with unagi maki and spicy tuna which was full of flavor and fresh! The tuna was by far my favorite, which I happily gobbled up! Salad and soup are small, but give you a taste of good appetizers! ++ Happy sushi hour is offered from 4:30-10pm, nightly - featuring $1.50 rolls for dining in only! ++ Staff is friendly, quick and to the point. We opted to order our sushi to go - and before we knew it, our order was in and we were ready to go! ++ Space is quite small, but does feature a large sushi bar, and various seating options inside. It's a bit flashy, creating a fancier atmosphere. ++ FREE bottle of Sake when you check in! ++ Pricing is on point for lunch specials and bento boxes but special individual rolls add up fast! My friend opted for her favorite, The Mexican Roll - and other of her choosing to which was a whopping $20. ++ They do offer delivery - which I've been told is quick and free! Although my to-go order didn't come with condiments or chop sticks, I could easily see myself returning here for another delicious meal - dine in or takeout!

I have actually never been to this location except for pickup. This review is strictly about the food! I don't really eat much raw or adventurous sushi but we love the shaggy dog roll and the lobster tempura roll at this place! So so so tasty always tastes fresh and delicious. However the portions are pretty small compared to other spots I have ordered from so I would say to just keep that in mind. I will certainly continue to order from here when funds permit :)

The sushi /sashimi is always fresh. Service is terrific. This is the only restaurant where we dined indoors during Covid. Social distancing, masks and cleanliness were taken very seriously by the staff.

This place is amazing, it's by far our favorite sushi place in the area!! They have such a great variety of rolls. Unlike a lot of the sushi places around here they have some more of the traditional sushi rolls, as well as many delicious special rolls. Every roll I've eaten at this place has been delicious. They also have a good sake selection! This place can be a little pricey, but in my opinion it's totally worth it. Also the staff is super nice and personable and even after only being there a few times remembered who we were. We come here all the time, and will continue to do so because we love Kassai Sushi!! My favorite items on their menu are: The MIA roll, the Kairina roll (a special that they have), and their gyoza!

My boyfriend and I ordered takeout from here late on a Wednesday night. The lady on the phone was very nice and repeated the order back to me to make sure it was correct. We ordered the Tokyo roll, the black dragon roll, and 2 pieces of seared tuna. It was ready in about 20 minutes and extremely well priced ($36 and something cents). We both thought the food was fresh and delicious. The fish smelled and tasted fresh and the avocado wasn't browned at all on the rolls which was nice to see (last place I ordered from had very brown avocado in their rolls). They also included 2 containers of soy sauce which I forgot to ask for and was pleased they gave to us. Excited to have a new favorite sushi place close to our apartment.

Ordered the Mummy and Manhattan Roll. The sushi isn't cheap, but you really get what you pay for. Both rolls were great and the quality of the tuna and salmon meet my expectations. I especially liked the peppery flavor from the seared tuna on the Mummy Roll.

The sushi is so good! And the people are so nice too. We get takeout from here often and I am Picky about our sushi! Definitely recommend
