Excellent stay for 3 nights in July. We stayed in the Annex building, which was modern with clean, spacious rooms. Breakfast was great with plenty of choice. The bar in the evenings was good with a lovely seating area outside. Great value, staff were great, rooms excellent, overall a really nice stay.

Lovely little hotel and so handy for the Ypres experience. Friendly staff and a lovely room in the new annexe. Nice breakfast and reasonable rates. Free parking

I arrived early and my room was ready and able to check in which was awesome. The room had a huge bed, air con and a bath. The shower was a hand held device and no shower curtain. This did not pose any real problem for me though.||The food was excellent but the restaurant is closed at the weekends but again not a problem because you are quite close to Ypres and the facilities there. Breakfast was a continental type and very good.||The hotel is on the front line of WW1 and next to a crater caused in the Great War and a cemetery a short walk away.||I walked into Ypres from the hotel and is a pleasant 45 minute walk. I didn't see any buses. I think most people have a car or bicycle so again not a problem. The staff are great and it is lovely sitting on the patio with a drink in the evening after some difficult touring during the day.||For motorcyclist - the drive is gravel and a little awkward to move heavy bikes about.

We came specifically to visit the trenches and it was quite beautiful. Well kept, well preserved WW1 trenches next to a beautiful hotel building and it only costs €1 to visit for people not staying at the hotel. The hotel staff was also super nice and helpful. Absolutely recommend a visit!

Kasteelhof t'Hooge is a nice family run hotel close to Ypres and actually in the middle of what was a WW1 battlefield. The original house was rebuilt in the 1920s. There is a big amusement park behind it but it wasn't an issue. I can see it being noisier in the summer months with the windows open but no issue in October. The rooms and hotel are a little quirky but everything is very clean, the beds are comfortable and there is good water pressure in the shower. It takes a minute to find what is the little bar/restaurant within the hotel as it's not really marked but I was also jet lagged. There is an annex building that is new, which looks like a doctor's office but I would still recommend staying in the main building if you like historic and charming. There is a nice patio and walk around what was the battlefield but it was too rainy and cold to enjoy. The food in the restaurant/bar was good and they had a nice selection of wine, beer, etc. Breakfast was included and was very good - everything was fresh and not much processed breads, etc. If you are interested in WWI, this is a good spot to feel in the middle of history. Loved the comfy down comforter and slept very well. It's not a Marriott or other chain so if you like those, this probably won't appeal but I was very pleased with my stay. Would definitely stay again.

Lovely hotel, stayed for 2 nights. Friendly welcome upon arrival, good sized car park. |We stayed in the new part of the hotel. Large comfortable room great shower, lots of storage. Kitchen available for us to use. |We stayed at the front of the hotel but no problem with road noise. |Comfortable beds had a great nights sleep. The whole hotel and grounds were spotless. ||Continental breakfast - yoghurt, meats, cheese, bread and pastries, boiled eggs, tea coffee and juice all fresh and tasty and very filling. ||You can walk round the gardens and there are interesting remains of WW1 to see. ||10 minute drive into Ypres centre directly opposite Hooge Crater Cemetery and next to a WW1 museum. The Aqua park is to the rear of the hotel. ||There is a bar serving drinks which has a nice atmosphere. ||Recommend staying here for a relaxing break with the benefit of being close to many WW1 sites.

Great hotel at a truly beautiful standpoint in landscape as well as in history. It has a free WW1 memorial backyard with all kind of relics, which is free to visit for hotel guests. Large rooms with all the things you could need Amazing location near Ieper. The only downside is that the kitchen is understaffed, and that the food prizes where a bit high. Breakfast was amazing though.
