This beautiful building, built 150 years ago, is the largest clothing department store in Austria. Definitely worth visiting to admire the beautiful decorations, among which elegant figures of birds and squirrels stand out. From the terrace you can admire the view over the entire historic center

A six-level store. On the top floor, there is a bar/restaurant with a stunning view, and I recommend the pastry products. They are delicious. The store is luxurious. I keep coming back here for one main reason: there’s simply no real alternative in the city that offers the same level of convenience right in the center. The location is, honestly, what saves this place. Beyond that, the overall experience is very inconsistent and depends heavily on which floor or counter you end up at. Some days you meet genuinely friendly, helpful staff; other days it’s the complete opposite. I’ve had multiple negative experiences near the Clarins counter, where two sales assistants came across as noticeably rude and condescending. One of them seemed openly irritated—almost angry—simply because I asked to see several different shades for comparison. That is not acceptable customer service, especially in a premium retail environment. To be fair, I’ve also had the opposite experience: on another visit, a consultant near Dior was professional, warm, and genuinely pleasant. That proves good service is possible here, which makes the inconsistency even more frustrating. Given that this store is in a central location and attracts an international customer base, staff should be able to communicate respectfully, patiently, and professionally. If consultants cannot interact properly with international customers, that’s a clear no-go. The product offering also doesn’t fully justify the experience. Sizes, shades, or specific items are often unavailable. And on top of that, many products—especially cosmetics and perfumes—are significantly cheaper online. That’s just a fact. If a physical store charges a noticeable premium, the service should be consistently high-end and reliable. Unfortunately, that’s not the case here. Bottom line: the prime location is doing most of the work. Service and availability are too inconsistent to justify the higher prices. This place has been around for a long time, but it’s time to modernize—set clear customer service standards, train staff properly, and deliver a consistently professional experience so customers don’t have to rely on luck to be treated well.

Not the store I knew few years ago. Premium / luxury brand are mostly gone, replaced with cheap wannabe brands like Joop. Half of floors are empty shelves where shoe store was. Many people still seem to like it, they feel important to go there. But sadly it’s not anymore the place to buy something nice and special.

Even everyone knows this is one excellent store I have to add a little note about it‘s great shop windows. It happens to me quite often to stop there and enjoy in artistically arranged shop windows. This time I took some photos as evidence. Great job!

We always have a great time in Kastner. The clothes are having a good quality,the Piano Bar on the 1st floor is also great.

Great department store with a fabulous roof terrace, this is a dangerous store to your wallet, there are so may fabulous things to buy, has a far nice ambiance than Selfridges and it's easy see the clothes. Then there is the roof terrance with its walkway over the roof so you can see across the city, delicious drinks and cheesecake

Great department store, al major brands are available. The Ecoalf shops in Men and women are fantastic ! Very friendly staff

A huuuuuuuuuuge shopping center for such a "small' city ;) No kidding, you can probably find anything you wish for in there. But I didn't went there for shopping, nor for one having a drink or food in one of their cafés... I went on top of the building, where you will be able to enjoy a very nice view over Graz and its very famous "Uhrturm" from a terrace - also part of a Café. I took some great pictures in the sunlight and will definitely remember this terrace as one of the highlight of this beautiful city! Next time I shall make time for a snack or coffee!

this is the nr 1 department store in town. beautifully renovated in 2010 it boasts 5 floors of designer goods and friendly service. one of the main attractions is the wonderful rooftop terrace where you can grab a latte and enjoy the great view over the old town. the restaurant on the 5th floor is highly recommended for a nice designer breakfast. i enjoyed the donatella versace and the karl lagerfeld once. delicious and cinsidering the location a bargain @EUR6.90 EUR9.90
