Visited as part of exploring Kampala. Got a bodaboda from central Kampala and its about 10-15min. Learnt so much about Buganda Kings and burial traditions. The King still comes twice a year on a private visit to pay respects. Such a cultural place and a must see. We had a fabulous tour guide for a small fee. A must visit. Could not get into the King's burial tomb as under repair following a recent fire. Hope to come back when completed. Its a UNESCO heritage site.

Good and informative guide. Great to learn about the history of the royal family and to also see how life continues here in the compound as if nothing has changed. The only downside is that the main attraction (the original house and current burial chamber of the Kings of Uganda) was burnt down over a decade ago and they still haven't finished the refurbishment which means you can't go inside it at the moment. 30,000 entry for foreigners.

The guide at the tomb was hospitable and he is well equipped with the knowledge about everything of the Royal tomb exclusive of buganda kingdom

An interesting site. Not clear what the entree fee is. We had to take a guide with an entrance fee, Estelle’s on 25 k per person which Sam’s high. we got explanations and a tour of the groundsThe main building is not accessible and some are restricted to males!

Interesting place. The main house is in restoration. It is not necessary to visit the graves of kings.

I went to visit the Kasubi Tombs with my children. I paid 25K as an Eastern African resident, for my children I paid 10K each and our (Ugandan) driver I paid 15K. 60K for seeing basically the welcoming hut of the site because as a woman I am not allowed to enter the royal drums hut (my children were not allowed either), and the main hut is only available to members of the royal family. And you cannot even approach it, the picture here I took from where I was standing. Then there was a half hour visit of a CEMETERY. A standard cemetery with crosses of the kings' wives, sons and daughters. NOT a place to visit with children. Also the guide asked me to wear a cloth to wrap around (like at a Mosque), but he actually planned to put it on me, I had to stop it with "I can do it myself thank you", to which he just replied "but it can't fall down". Avoid this place, it's a waste of time and money.

Some random police man said they will take cash of 35000 per entry, but no ticketing info. Corrupt and embarassing. UNESCO should review back it's heritage status and do something about this. Don't bother to come.
