Kata Rocks

"Opened in 2014. What? Within walking distance of two of the island's best beaches (Kata and Kata Noi), this resort's terraced lofts, villas, and penthouses come with private pools and iPads to control lighting, temperature, music, TV, blinds, and service requests. It's almost like St. Barts! Get me there now! Over a dozen airlines fly to Phuket from Bangkok and Singapore."

Kata Rocks (Karon Beach, Phuket Area) 1 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Strange as it may sound, there’s something about the sparkling new Kata Rocks, on Phuket’s southwestern coast, that’s strikingly reminiscent of a resort in the Mediterranean. Maybe it’s the whitewashed buildings clinging to the rocky cliffside that make you think of Santorini, or the minimalist poolside décor and ambient music that conjure of memories of Ibiza. Maybe it’s the sleek Italian-style kitchens with Nespresso machines and leather furnishings by Natuzzi that remind you of the Amalfi Coast." - Tablet Hotels

I stayed at Kata Rocks recently and while the property is visually stunning, I left with mixed feelings. The design is very modern and minimalist, but personally I found it a bit too sterile and cold for a tropical holiday. The atmosphere felt more like a high-end showroom than a place to truly relax and disconnect. The service was professional, but it lacked a genuine sense of warmth or connection that you usually find in Thailand. Everything ran smoothly, yet it felt scripted rather than personal. I also found the environment very quiet — almost to the point of feeling empty — which made it less enjoyable for someone looking for a lively or social vibe. The facilities are of high quality, but the overall experience didn’t match the emotional comfort I expected for the price. I felt slightly disconnected from the sea and local culture, as the property’s focus seems to be more on image and exclusivity than on authenticity or relaxation. In summary, while I can appreciate the architectural beauty and elegance, it’s not a place I would personally choose again. It’s perfect for people who love ultra-modern design and privacy, but for me it lacked warmth, atmosphere, and the welcoming Thai spirit I usually enjoy elsewhere.

We booked a 10 day stay and highly recommend. The staff were very friendly and accomodating, with a big shout out to the restaurant staff including Max, Cherry & Jay who always went above and beyond. Everyday we went for our cocktail hour before dinner and watched the most amazing sunsets. Our room #205 was lovely with a fantastic view, our room was serviced every day and the pool was cleaned every other day. We never waited longer than 5 minutes for our buggy to take us where we wanted to go ie breakfast, dinner or down to the main street or beach and the drivers were always friendly and happy. We would definitely go back for another stay. Kun Jason and Kun Donna.||

My Girlfriend and I had an absolutely incredible stay at Kata Rocks. From the moment we arrived the staff made us feel genuinely welcome, They were attentive, friendly and always happy to help. The room was immaculate, spacious, beautifully designed and spotlessly clean. The stunning views from our private pool made it hard to leave. Dinner was also fantastic, everything we ordered was full of flavor. Thank you to the entire team for making our stay special!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I had dinner with a stunning sunset view — absolutely beautiful, I really loved it. The food could be improved a little, but honestly, I didn’t go for a big meal. I mainly came to enjoy the view, and it was worth it! 🌅🍷

Kara Rocks is absolutely amazing. I think most people already know how luxurious and beautiful the location is. While it can be a little challenging to get there with your own vehicle—since it’s located on top of a hill—it’s definitely worth the effort. Once you arrive, you can enjoy the restaurant and bar, which offer a great selection of food prepared by skilled chefs. The best time to go is around 5 to 6 PM, so you can catch the stunning sunset over Kata Beach while you dine or have a drink. It’s truly a perfect spot for a special evening.

We are on our last night staying at Kata Rocks through a Luxury Escapes deal and couldn’t be happier with the experience. From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional — the staff were warm, attentive, and truly made us feel welcome throughout our stay.||The villa was stunning, with breathtaking views, every modern amenities required for a week stay even a washing machine, and thoughtful touches that added to the luxury feel. The pool and in-room facilities were impeccable, making it hard to leave the comfort of our private space.||Dining was also a highlight — delicious food paired with top-tier service and incredible views, don’t forget desert they were amazing ! . Every detail of our stay felt curated for relaxation and indulgence.||In a good location if you want to be away from the busy Patong area. Easy to walk to beach using the Hotel buggy and shops are near by, getting taxi’s or using the grab transport made it easy when venturing out, we did use the hotel transport but found this to be a little expensive.||We highly recommend Kata Rocks for anyone looking for a luxury escape with outstanding service and unforgettable scenery. We’ll definitely be back!

Service, atmosphere, and food were all excellent. Yes it is expensive for Thailand, but they are giving you high end food, exclusivity, unbelievably attentive service, and the best view in Kata. Before we went I read reviews where people complained about the minimum purchase for a front row table. If two people legitimately consume a meal you will meet the minimum. Totally understandable they are trying to keep people from just sitting there eating an appetizer or something. At the end of our meal they used one of their golf carts to take us back down to the main road.
