Kata Rocks

Went to the Kata Rocks for NYE and it was lovely. Food was very nice and the venue is stunning. Rooms looked beautiful, but we did not stay for the night, so I can't really say. I booked for the Countdown party, non-alcoholic option, as it was sold out. Upon arrival we were asked of we wanted the upgrade, and we said no, and the member of staff told us that we will have a midnight champagne in any case, if we wanted. We were happy. However, at midnight, a waitress came to serve champagne, and very rudely refused to give us a glass and left the area where we were staying, without bringing any non-alcoholic drinks either. That was not nice. Venue is stunning, and the parti was overall lovely. But that was buzz killer.

The advertised suite was a disappointment. I was very disappointed. We visited the restaurant on December 30, expecting a special dinner. The views were truly stunning, with a priceless sunset over the Andaman Sea from this angle. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience was a complete let down. 1. The service was catastrophic. The staff seemed untrained in basic procedures. The waiter could not identify the dishes from the photos on the menu, and he constantly asked for clarification and asked me to show him. This is unacceptable for a restaurant of this level. 2. An emergency that cannot be forgiven. The highlight of the incident was when my child was served a glass of vodka with ice instead of water (!), and the waiter confidently claimed that it was water. Fortunately, we noticed this in time. This is not just a lack of service, but a direct threat to the safety of our guests. The staff's knowledge of English is non-existent. 3. An unexpected and unpleasant bill. The menu doesn't mention that a 10% service charge and an additional 7% tax will be automatically added to the price of each dish. As a result, the bill was 17% higher than expected.

I didn’t stay at the hotel, but I spent the whole day here from noon until late at night just dining and chilling with my friend. The atmosphere was amazing. It’s a true five-star beachfront hotel with breathtaking ocean views that make you feel completely relaxed. The service was warm and attentive, the food was delicious, and the overall vibe was peaceful and luxurious. It’s the perfect place to unwind, enjoy the scenery, and spend quality time. I was genuinely impressed.

I stayed at Kata Rocks recently and while the property is visually stunning, I left with mixed feelings. The design is very modern and minimalist, but personally I found it a bit too sterile and cold for a tropical holiday. The atmosphere felt more like a high-end showroom than a place to truly relax and disconnect. The service was professional, but it lacked a genuine sense of warmth or connection that you usually find in Thailand. Everything ran smoothly, yet it felt scripted rather than personal. I also found the environment very quiet — almost to the point of feeling empty — which made it less enjoyable for someone looking for a lively or social vibe. The facilities are of high quality, but the overall experience didn’t match the emotional comfort I expected for the price. I felt slightly disconnected from the sea and local culture, as the property’s focus seems to be more on image and exclusivity than on authenticity or relaxation. In summary, while I can appreciate the architectural beauty and elegance, it’s not a place I would personally choose again. It’s perfect for people who love ultra-modern design and privacy, but for me it lacked warmth, atmosphere, and the welcoming Thai spirit I usually enjoy elsewhere.

Had a wonderful stay at Kata Rocks for our honeymoon. We stayed for 9 nights and thought the experience was fantastic. They have an incredible team of friendly staff who are always willing to help. Special mentions to Alesha and Fee at the front desk, as well as Katie who helped us book our island tours and had fantastic recommendations. We enjoyed the service at the bar and kitchen from Mat, Jay, First, Max, Fu and Cherry. Our room was cleaned thoroughly daily and there is nothing here we can fault. It’s quite entertaining seeing reviews that say otherwise as our experience was perfect.

Lovely place, a lot sweet details with service , very clean and quiet.Location: Perfect! The hotel is nestled in a beautiful, tranquil bay, yet it's only a short and inexpensive taxi ride to the vibrant Patong Beach if you want to experience the nightlife. The sunsets from the private beach were breathtaking every single evening.||The Room: We stayed in a Seaview Pool Villa and it was worth every penny. The room was incredibly spacious, immaculately clean, and the private pool offered the ultimate privacy and relaxation. The bed was super comfortable, and waking up to that stunning view of the Andaman Sea was a dream come true.||Amenities: The main infinity pool is a masterpiece, blending seamlessly with the ocean. We also loved the world-class spa – the traditional Thai massage was one of the best I've ever had. The gym was well-equipped, and there were plenty of activities like kayaking and snorkeling available.||The Staff: This is where truly shines. The staff are exceptional. They remember your name, they are always smiling, and they go above and beyond to help. Special thanks to Kai at the concierge who helped us book an amazing snorkeling trip to the Phi Phi Islands!

We loved our time at Kata Rocks from the booking to the check out! The staff is amazing from reception to housekeeping, from breakfast to spa and not to forget the always available buggy drivers. The villas are meticulously maintained and provide for an excellent stay. We had dinner once in the villa and the food was excellent and curated. We absolutely loved every single thing, most of all the stunning location and the kindness of the staff.

We had the pleasure of staying at this magnificent resort for 7 days. We stayed in an ocean view loft. The quality of the accommodation was exceptional? As was the quality of the food. The staff could not be nicer and are all so professional and could not praise them enough. You do feel very special staying here, we will be back. A big thanks to Jay and Jee who looked after us.
