A refreshing change to the other kinds of bars! We popped in only for a drink and few snacks, especially the oysters. It's a really lovely bar and quite different to the more local places - it's a little bit more modern and stylised, no vintage dark wood etc - think modern low lighting and marble. It was nice to go somewhere like this for an hour or two! We had some local white wine, oysters, a beautifully soft poached egg with potato which was incredible, and some ham croquettes. All the food was incredible and there is quite an extensive menu, the service was wonderful as well. I'd definitely go back, especially if you're looking for somewhere a little less casual and crowded.

Nico made our experience outstanding. He was super excited with every menu selection we made. The food and drink and bar experience was amazing! He suggested the perfect order of our selection and suggested the perfect wine parings! The overall experience was perfrct! Don’t miss this place!!!

The fried calamar was amazing. Whereas the ceviche was not great. The staff was lovely. Nice outdoor calm terasse with a view.

We stopped in here for some snacks and a glass of wine. The food was very good, and the oysters very fresh. The wine selections were excellent and the service very efficient. We especially liked the ambience.

We had great lunch at Kata4 - my green rice dish was amazing and I loved the option of ordering half portions. Our oysters were fresh and the service was very attentive.

Busy place with a great selection of local oysters, both French and Spanish. They are happy to assist you in selecting oyster varietals if you aren’t sure. There is a full bar of pintxos and a full service restaurant as well as ample outdoor seating overlooking the river. If you love good fresh seafood, give this place a try.

Nice fresh oysters! Their other dishes are great too and overall we had a pleasant date night! The service here is quick and attentive and their prices are fair in my opinion. The Bao Bun was really nice too

This is our second time here in four days: once for dinner and again for lunch. Fantastic service, amazing food and the most fun vibe. Lovely people working behind the bar who are helpful and give great recommendations on food and local wine.

Really incredible and unexpected experience. We came for the goose barnacles, but stayed for its service and kitchen. Our server went out of his way to ensure we were content, and was more attentive than what we've experienced so far basque. We ended up having a proper dinner and everything was above our expectations, especially the barnacles. Finally, our bill was no where as much as expected. Thought something was surely wrong, but aside the 2 glasses of comp'd wine - I believe everything was correct. Highly recommended. A casual Michelin-star experience if there was such a thing.

Shared some delicious plates here. Simple yet refined food, on point. And the wine is very cheap - a nice bottle of Verdejo for €11. Waiting staff was nice, but too busy so had to wave a couple of times. But they're forgiven cause the place was packed. We had no reservation and could get a table after 15 minutes.

Disappointing on multiple levels. Although the Basque are not known for their warmth or hospitality, Kata4 proved decency and honesty is not a strength of theirs either. Such rudeness + Kata4's ways of cheating visitors really hurts the local people, not just visitors. -Horrible service; menus provided after 15minute wait and 3 attempts to retrieve the menu ourselves. And We weren't in any particular rush, allowing for relaxed service is one thing, not able to get water is another. -Order taken incorrectly, requested small portions (pequeno) however large/full size portions were brought out. Drinks were not right, had to request water around 7 times.. and the restaurant was not busy. The additional smirks and commentary the hostess and waitress had between themselves and patrons was also appalling. They assume dumb Americans don't know other languages. -Multiple additional charges included in bill (which unfortunately happens a lot!!) charged for additional dishes and drinks, unclear service charge fee and patio service charge was added... it was shocking.. but the worst action after all these 'mistakes' were finally corrected, was the credit card was run in USD without asking us. My husband worked for Visa, this is illegal. There are many other restaurants to enjoy- this one should be avoided.

If you like slurping oysters and choosing from a number of options in size and region then you need to walk into Kata 4. While walking around town taking in various places I saw a crowd in front of this place and wandered in. Kata 4 is a bit upscale. I was wearing shorts and had my light weight rain jacket tied around my waist and felt a bit out of place. I stood at the bar and enjoyed a half dozen of the medium sized fresh oysters and a glass really good white wine. The price was reasonable and the staff was not just tolerant of my lack of attitude, they were super cool and helpful. Great place to try oysters, drink wine, bring a date or hang out like a kooky business character and look at the pretty people.

My favorite newer and younger scene on weekends. It's trendy new wine bar and restaurant for pinxtos, if you get in late and don't want to save Old Town for a recharged night. It was my favorite wine bar!!!
