The Doge's Palace in Venice Welcomes Newly Renovated Sculptures of Adam and Eve | Vogue

"I saw it firsthand last July as part of a UNESCO World Heritage complex: the famed Romanesque entrance portal carved by Radovan in 1240 and the Renaissance chapel of Giovanni Orsini by Donatello’s pupil Niccolo di Giovanni Fiorentino, all treasures that had been crusted with centuries of grime until Toto Bergamo Rossi and his Sansovino team, under the auspices of Venetian Heritage, brought them back to their intended magnificence." - Hamish Bowles

Croatia Itineraries for 2025: From One Week to a Month!

"The Cathedral of St. Lawrence in Trogir began construction in the late 12th century, and if the tall 15th-century bell tower is open I’d recommend climbing it for a great view over the town." - Matthew Kepnes

St. Lawrence’s Cathedral is a stunning historical landmark with incredible architecture and a peaceful atmosphere. The interior is beautifully decorated, with impressive altars, artwork, and stained-glass windows that tell fascinating stories. It’s a perfect place for reflection, photography, or learning about the local history and culture. The staff are welcoming, and visiting feels both inspiring and serene. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in the area!

When we entered the small Cathedral which was indeed beautiful in white marble, but, in our opinion, not being worth the 6 euros we paid for the entrance, we were a bit disappointed. However, once we exited and reached for the bell tower through a veeery narrow and steep staircase (beware!) we were rewarded with breathtaking views of Trogir. It was Sunday and although the streets of Trogir were pretty busy, the Cathedral and the bell tower were very calm!

It was a dangerous climb especially at the top for those who are not nimble on their feet as it became very steep and the steps were deep. Middle aged ladies came back down refusing to go to the top, were indeed sensible. But we were rewarded by a panorama and a serene view of Trogir

Went here 6 pm on a weekday, perfect time, not crowded at all, other than a short wait to get up the bell tower. The stairs are not for the faint of heart, but it was ultimately more than worth it!

To be honest, I'm not that into history or cathedrals. However, I really like good views. And 5 euros per person it's worth it for impressive views of Trogir. If you're not good with heights (like me!) it can be a bit scary, especially the last bit up which is almost like a ladder. But there's enough rails to hold onto as long as you take it slow (definitely recommend coming down the ladder section backwards) Lovely views from the top in all directions, and I highly recommend it.

The Cathedral of St. Lawrence occupies the main spot among the churches of Trogir. It is located on the main town square, and it stands out due to its height and construction style. There's paid entry into the cathedral, which, may be worth it if you want to go up the tower and see some of the rooms / crypts inside.

This is the No 1 attraction in Trogir and if you see nothing else, a must visit. Built across a number of centuries (13th to 17th) it incorporates both Romanesque & Gothic architectural styles. Whilst the climb up the Bell Tower is quite challenging in places, it's well worth doing for the great views of the town from the top.

We arrived for Holy Mass, but the two girls said: "The church is closed because there will be a mass." 😀 But we finally managed to get in. It was a great experience.
