We came here twice on our journey. Staff was very nice and helpful. We had a problem with the hot water and they offered us to relocate to another room meanwhile they fixed the issue. The location has a lovely garden with a super playful Japanese Spitz puppy named Babu. We loved playing with him. All in all the guest house is totally fine, sheets were very clean, beds comfortable, location is the best (literally in front of the tourist bus station) few minutes walk from Durbar square, in Thamel but far from the chaos. The facilities could be improved but that wasn't a massive issue for us.

The Garden House is only 5 minutes walking distance from Thamel, making it a great choice if you want to be close but not in the middle of all the fuss. The owners/stuff are friendly and welcoming and willing to help any time of the day. The little cozy garden is the best place to unwind and chill any time of the day. Rooms are spacious, very clean, and the beds are comfortable enough, but don't expect much from the decoration and the furniture, which look a bit old - as expected for the price range. The breakfast and especially the dinner choices are tasty and they come very handy when you don't want to leave the house. ||||There are some minor issues but as far as I know they are to be expected in most of the same budget houses in Kathmandu. There is no heating in the rooms, so if travelling in winter expect to feel cold during night, but feel free to ask for as many blankets as you may need. Wifi was working most of the time, not always at great speeds. The hot water in the shower sometimes took a lot of time to come. The terrace is a nice place to enjoy your breakfast on a sunny morning but the owners could do a little better in decorating it.

Kind staff & a nice courtyard to hang out in! Good location in Thamel too. Deducted a star because the facilities were a little drab and the fan in my room didn’t work. But a totally adequate stay in Kathmandu and a good value, I’d come again!

It was a beautiful place and I enjoyed my stay a great deal. The staff there was extremely helpful and nice to me, especially when they found out that it was my first time in Nepal. The rooms are clean, the water is warm, and they will provide you with any information you may need. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that I was having a wonderful time and felt at home, by providing me with all the information or suggestions I needed on what to do in Kathmandu or other cities. Please accept my sincere thanks for being such amazing people for me Those who wish to visit Nepal and want a place to create memories, and looking for reasonable prices, definitely should consider Kathmandu Garden House. Namaste and thank you, @ Kiran, Sandeep, Chandra🙏

Really enjoyed our stay here, as a result of the very kind and hospitable hosts, the fair price, and the great location. Loved having the garden area as well just to hangout and not feel like you need to pay to be somewhere. The sheets were really clean, and don’t forget to eat downstairs in the garden as the dhal baat was probably the best we’ve had in Nepal. The room bathrooms could use some upgrades/ deep cleaning / making sure that the shower water flows well but we’ve found that that’s pretty common. Would be great to have a squeegee to help the bathroom floor dry quicker. Special shoutout to Babu, he was the best! @ouiaretravellers

Clean room and good location close to main Thamel streets. Large social area but very quiet as not many staying. WiFi good. Shower good. Nice garden setting to chill and read. Had a power cut first night (common across Kathmandu) and the staff were very kind and provided us with candles. Would stay again.

We stayed at this guesthouse on our first 2 days in Kathmandu. The place is nice, it has a nice garden and the location is excellent: you are in Thamel without being in the centre of the touristic chaos. The rooms are nice and clean. One thing to notice: no heating! If you go there in winter, you will probably be a bit cold. But we survived! Perfect location also for bus stops to Pokhara and other places.

I stayed at 3 surrounding guesthouses in KTM, and this one wins. Staff is genuinely kind, helpful, and polite.|Staff is easily able to provide travel and tour arrangements, laundry service, and a restaurant on premise offering 3 meals a day. The premise is blessed with a nice garden patio area that is as green and quiet as KTM gets. Rooms are fairly large, simple but decent, very clean, and as quiet as Kathmandu gets. (However, do have both a mask and earplugs for KTM, as they are a necessity throughout the entire city. Stray dogs bark all night long, and dust is a major issue on most streets.)
