Charming, Instagrammable Stay in the Heart of Thamel
I stayed at Kathmandu Guest House for just one night, but it left a great impression. Nestled right in the heart of Thamel, it’s surrounded by cafes, clubs, shopping spots, and currency exchanges — perfect for tourists looking to explore on foot.
The hotel itself is beautiful and full of character. From lush gardens to cozy corners, it’s a photographer’s paradise — super Instagrammable! They even have a museum, souvenir shops, and a tea tasting corner, which was such a lovely touch.
I stayed in an Executive Suite, which was spacious, comfortable, and worth the higher price for a short stay. I noticed that the more budget-friendly rooms felt a bit too small and cramped, so I’d definitely recommend going for the higher category if comfort matters to you.
The breakfast was okay — I had higher expectations, but it was decent for a one-night stay. The staff were helpful and check-in was smooth. The garden areas and outdoor seating really make it a great place to relax.
My room didn’t have a great view, but honestly, the hotel itself is a destination — I’d love to stay 2–3 days next time just to explore more of it.
Overall, a lovely and peaceful escape in the middle of the buzz of Thamel. Would definitely recommend it for those who want both charm and convenience!
