I was in Portland for a memorial celebration of my close friend's life. I stayed just up Congress St. I am thankful we stumbled upon Katie Made Bakery. It was so good we had breakfast there three mornings in a row. The breakfast sandwiches were absolutely perfect. I don't know how they made the eggs so fluffy! I had the Spinach & Goat cheese sandwich which was so delicious. The next day I had the same and added a sausage patty! Perfect. The staff was extremely friendly and kind. I also had a blueberry muffin that was decadently delicious - loaded with blueberries.

Google
This little cafe is an absolute delight. Everything is fresh and delicious, including coffee, breakfast sandwiches, and baked goods. We stayed close by and liked this bakery so much that we ended up eating breakfast here every morning of our stay in Portland. Definitely add this to your travel list for Portland!

Google
Such a sweet place with delicious food and amazingly nice people working there! We stopped in Portland and had seen this spot-so glad we drove from Old Portland to try it. Scones, egg sandwiches, veggie quiche (we have been enjoying for a few days) and coffee were all SO goood. They also recommended we drive up the street to the promenade & so glad they did .. it was so beautiful. Highly recommend and love supporting lovely local places. So glad Katie made it! No photos, we ate too quickly!

Google
Stopped by to grab a cinnamon roll and breakfast sandwich but unfortunately they were all sold out of cinnamon rolls so I settled for a slice for blueberry pie. The breakfast sandwich was delicious and made of fresh, high quality ingredients. The blueberry pie was also delicious, flaky crust and not overly sweet. I'll for sure be going back again to get my hands on a cinnamon roll.

Google
Stopped in here yesterday before leaving town and the woman taking our order at the front was so sweet and so kind - excellent customer service! Literally the best scone I’ve ever had (ordered the blueberry). Sausage, egg & cheese breakfast sandwich was delicious, as well as the iced coffee. Really cute place with tables outside to enjoy the fresh air… very highly recommend.

Google
Very solidly average breakfast place. We got English muffin sandwiches - can definitely make comparable sandwiches at home. The service was strange too…we walked in with a group of 7 and were told to eat somewhere else if we wanted fast food. Nobody had made any comments about needing a quick experience and that was our first interaction with the cashier before hello. The place was also completely empty so it wasn’t like our party was crowding the indoor space. Overall would not return.

Google
2 sister's teamed up to bring great food, service, and baked goods. If you looking for breakfast and lunch the made to order sandwiches are amazing. They also have great fantastic backed goods my favorite is the strawberry Danish. Katie will also make you a custom cake for a special event, her cakes are amazing!

Love this place so much. Best vibes, excellent food and super reasonable prices. Also the people working there are the best!

Yelp
What a cute bakery! I'm obsessed with the exterior as well as the cozy interior. The staff is so friendly and I love the idea of grabbing a juice and a quick bite from their bakery and popping a squat at a table next to their large windows. If I lived closer this would totally be my go-to breakfast spot. There's plenty of natural light and the window seats have cushions and cute pillows. So cozy and inviting. Highly recommend the cinnamon roll -- it's topped with tons of frosting (we love to see it) and the lemonade was very refreshing! Not too sweet, but was such a cold and tasty sip. Lots of folks were coming in for the blueberry coffee cake so that's a hot item for sure!

Yelp
Lovely experience here on a summer weekend morning! It's a small place, but clearly everything is homemade in front of you. I got the veggie breakfast sandwich sandwich and an iced coffee. There are plenty of ways to dress your iced coffee, including whole milk, oat milk, and half and enough. They also have a homemade simple syrup, which I really appreciate for iced drinks. The breakfast sandwiches took a little while to come out, but we were happy to wait. There's cute seating both inside and outside. Once we got our sandwich, it was awesome. Fairly sized for the price, which wasn't too expensive, and generously topped. It was full without being bursting, so I felt like I could actually eat it as a sandwich. They have a couple ketchup and hot sauce options as well, which I appreciated. no notes!

Yelp
A hidden gem that we stumbled upon while looking for a place to grab breakfast before heading to the airport. The breakfast sandwiches were not only very tasty, but very filling as well. The eggs on them were so fluffy and could not have been cooked any better! All three of us got a different version of a breakfast sandwich and we were all very pleased. We also couldn't resist grabbing a pastry to go with our sandwiches. The pumpkin muffin, peanut butter cookie with chocolate and the blueberry coffee cake were all delicious. So much so that we ordered a pumpkin muffin and peanut butter cookie with chocolate to go! The coffee was enjoyable as well, smooth and not too strong. No lattes here but there was creamer and flavored syrup available for us to add to our coffee, for those who wanted it. Not only was the food great, but the service was as well. Friendly atmosphere that just made you glad you came. Highly recommend this place and will go back if I am in the area again.

Yelp
This is a gem well worth going out of your way for. I happened to be staying not far from here while visiting Portland, but having had their blueberry-raspberry muffins I would gladly walk here from anywhere in Portland to get some more. Absolutely terrific. I sat outside on the nice clean patio to enjoy mine along with orange juice that tasted fresh squeezed. When I finished I went back in to buy more of those muffins to take with me. Very warm and friendly service... do yourself a favor!

Yelp
Great breakfast and bakery spot, you feel as though you're sitting in someone's kitchen. Best part, gluten free roll for a breakfast sandwich. Good food, nice staff. Make sure to stop by!
google avatar

Mandy W.

Yelp
Delightful spot, we tried the blueberry coffee cake, strawberry danish, and a few breakfast sandwiches. The staff was awesome! We loved the food so much we went back the next day for more! Highly recommend!

Yelp
We went in search for a great breakfast sandwich but found so much more. The breakfast sandwich was delicious with these awesome fluffy eggs )still wondering how you get them so fluffy) the bacon was perfect crispy just like we hoped for. The avocado , cheese and egg was so good. Looted with avocado. The thing I can not rave enough about was the lemon ginger scone. I have not tasted anything like that before.. I am tempted to get back in the car and get another one. The scone had a natural lemon flavor with large pieces of ginger it was amazing!!! The inside of the bakery is very cute and welcoming as is the owner and staff. I have put this on my must go back list , they also have lunch which I am definitely going to try. As a side not they have compostable straws, lids and cups

Yelp
Nothing particularly bad about this place. Really nothing particularly good either. Sandwiches were about fine. Kinda small for the price. But VERY flavorless. The cookie was about "Pillsbury" pre-frozen quality, but again, completely flavorless. It's like the cookie was made out of diet sugar-free low-sodium fat-free corn cellulose packing peanuts. Typical overpriced milquetoast business that will probably survive based on their gentrified location. Sorry KT.

Danielle ..

Yelp
I loved my visit to this little bakery. It has great food and a cute atmosphere. It seemed to be a popular spot, but wasn't overcrowded on a Saturday morning.

Sarah M.

Yelp
Updating to say: "We love Katie Made!" Best staff, breakfast sandwiches, and iced coffee around!

Philip H.

Yelp
We were visiting Portland and didn't really know where to stop for breakfast, but this place turned out to be exactly what we were looking for. The coffee was wonderful (a dark roast that was rich and strong) and the people were quite friendly to us. We enjoyed a sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich (with plenty of melted cheese... which was delicious). Most remarkable about this sandwich was the soft and flavorful toasted English muffin. We also shared a blueberry coffee cake, which was moist and delicious. There were no ceramic mugs available when I ordered my coffee, so I just bought one. I will take it home with me and think fond thoughts of this place every time I use it.

Yelp
5 stars for the best muffin in history. I almost didn't get it and then it changed my life. Thank you!

Laura P.

Yelp
Love Katie made had been a few months since I've been able to make it in but as outstanding as I remembered . The best scones so full of fruit my favorites are the cranberry and the blueberry delightful . The egg sandwiches are so tasty and fresh . Many options for ingredients in the sandwiches . I love that this bakery is local and fresh and the owners and staff are always so kind.
google avatar

Ryan N.

Yelp
This rating based solely on breakfast sandwich-NOT bakery items (which looked amazing!) for $5 it is worth checking out KatieMades breakfast sandwiches. It is the exact same breakfast sandwich I can make in my own kitchen, HOWEVER, I did NOT have to shop, prep, cook or do any dishes. The convenience is worth the $ but do not expect a crave worthy breakfast sandwich.

Yelp
It only took me two and a half years and I live walking distance to this establishment but this is the best breakfast sandwich in Portland! Delicious from start to finish. The breakfast sandwiches are made with love. Really, really tasty and filling, and stays together nicely doesn't go all over the place like when you are Chevy Chase in the movie Vacation. Munjoy Hill coffee used to do phenomenal sandwiches, then they stopped, then they redesigned, now theyve reinstated but they are not as good as before. Superette does breakfast sandwiches and they are pretty good typically, occasionally once or twice the quality control is missed. Katie Made is the best. Best breakfast sandwiches. And while we are at it. The coffee is really, really tasty too. Get your day started right! I only wish they opened at 7-am! Or Ide go here daily.
google avatar

Raymondo R.

Yelp
The breakfast sandwich was fresh right off the cooking apparatus that I was ill concern to inquire; the atmosphere is so intimate and yet seemed ample for social distancing if you prefer. I had coffee and bacon egg and cheese on an english muffin. Homecoming quality assembly without the grandiose presentation that is all too often the hook of "under new management ," or "grand opening," proprietor operated store fronts. The coffee was piping hot and plentiful for self service that was considerate of proper cleaning and sanitation for single serve condiments for "to taste," adjustments of finicky coffee ritualistic caffeine habitual "routiners," like myself. I just happened to stumble across this hidden gem, by chance of being early to Sunday Worship. The immediacy of close proximity to so many religious institutions makes for a no brainer detour from the normalcy of lengthy line corporate america baristas. Take your own risk at seeking this cozy location out for your own peace of mind. I did!

Yelp
This place is s'good! All that's right with America is happening at KMB. Their breakfast sandwiches are made with fresh ingredients that are locally sourced and it's super affordable to boot. Gotta respect a place that doesn't cut corners and doesn't seem to be hung up on the bottom line being the be-all-end-all. Go here. Or don't. Fine by me.
google avatar

Gary B.

Yelp
What a great spot and super friendly. Went on a Sunday right after mass and were so glad we found them. Go there. The owner is really sweet.
google avatar

Marc B.

Yelp
Katie Made Bakery is in the heart of Munjoy Hill and serves various, pies, pasteries, and breakfeast goodies. My husband and I decided to try out some breakfast sandwhiches. I got the fully loaded with sausage and it was amazing! They really make it a point to stuff the breakfast sandwhiches with fresh vegetables, egg, and sausage. We will definitely be back!

Rebecca P.

Yelp
Absolutely wonderful. Came two days in a row on my recent trip to Portland. The breakfast sandwiches are beyond amazing and the baked goods looked the same (sadly, I don't really do sweets). The owners and staff are delightful and the place is very homey. Highly recommend.

Theresa F.

Yelp
Best pumpkin muffins I have ever had. I go there just for that and refer everyone I know. Breakfast sandwiches are super too. Luv the one w goat cheese. They also have adorable holiday cookies. Obviously I love this place. We like to grab breakfast there and go to the launch and sit w the beautiful Casco Bay view.
google avatar

Tara T.

Yelp
Solid baked goods, excellent fully loaded breakfast sandwich with unbelievably fluffy egg and tasty sausage (although I wished for more onions/mushrooms given it was supposed to be fully loaded!). Sammies will run you around $5-6 depending on what you get. Also got the Maine blueberry bread which was okay...a little underbaked perhaps but still tasty and totally LOADED with fruit.
google avatar

Ashley B.

Yelp
Open for takeout! I walked into this east end joint on a weekday morning for breakfast. Got the veggie breakfast sandwich and iced coffee. The veggie sandwich had egg, mushrooms, spinach, and cheese on an english muffin. It was simple and good, however a bit too much egg for me, compared to the ratio of veggies there were. The iced coffee was average and they had oat milk as an option to add in as well. I would come back to try some of the baked goods...they looked amazing!
google avatar

Joe M.

Yelp
This place is awesome! The girls here were friendly and nice. There was no wait to place my order, and my sandwich was prepared from scratch quickly. On the days when I jog, I NEED a good breakfast. They're Fully Loaded sandwich with sausage filled me up, and now I'm ready for the day. The place is quaint and clean, and the prices were also reasonable. Thanks Ladies!

Kerrie D.

Yelp
Katie made bakery has delicious baked goods, creative breakfast sandwiches, unique lunch specials and solid coffee. There are a few small tables inside with more outside on the patio, making this a great place to stop for a bite when walking your pooch. The staff is super friendly and prices are extremely reasonable. A loaded breakfast sandwich with 2 eggs, mushroom, onion, ham and provolone is $4.75! Specials this morning were a breakfast sandwich with egg, french ham and brie and a house made corned beef hash, 2 eggs and toast. Check this place out for great food and a super chill vibe!

Grim R.

Yelp
Holy moly i was not expecting food this good in such large quantities. If you paying 6 dollers for a breakfast sandwich and you not getting it here you might just be paying too much

Cindy B.

Yelp
We were visiting from the Northwest and I needed a birthday cake for a friend. I looked online and not being familiar with any of them , I picked Katie Made simply because my daughter's name is Katie. Well, Katie Made did not disappoint. We enjoyed the most delicious carrot cake ever!!! Thank you Katie Made for the kudos we received when we served this cake for our friend's birthday party. YUM!
google avatar

Ceara P.

Yelp
Very good homemade sandwiches. Very local and friendly feel. I had lunch there, but I've heard the breakfast sandwiches are very good as well. They have a Katie Made Coffee by Design specific coffee that is good as well.

Yelp
I've only tried Katie Made bakery once. Here is my good experience! My s/o and I came into the restaurant and were greeted right away. In the same breath, we were asked what we were going to order. (Being our first time, we wanted to check out the menu before ordering.)I let her know that we would probably be getting a sandwhich. She told me that they had both breakfast and lunch sandwiches available. I thanked her. While glancing at the menu another associate asked what we were going to order. We'd only been looking at the menu for 30 seconds or so, and hadn't decided. At that point, we just hurried and ordered. The fully loaded breakfast sandwhich with sausage AND bacon, eggs, mushroom, onions and provolone was the clear choice. It only comes with one meat, but having both sounded delicious. We also asked what bakery good was the favorite. The cashier named a few favorites and the clear winner for me sounded like the strawberry & cheese danish. Yumm! A gentlemen came in after us and clearly had a large order that he pre arranged. Before starting my sandwhich, the ladies behind the counter took care of collecting the last few items of his order first. We weren't in a hurry, so this wasn't that big of a deal. Neither the breakfast sandwhich, nor the Danish had an ounce of disappointment. They both had rich flavor. I would order both of them again. They also carry CBD (coffee by design) coffee which is one of my favorites in Portland. We didn't want to order a coffee, so we didn't get any on this day. I'd like to try their cakes, tortes and pies one day!
google avatar

Steph G.

Yelp
Really amazing menu of different scrambled egg sandwiches. Coffee mugs are free refills. Small, intimate spot with outdoor seating. Friendly, quick service. I really like the number one (caramelized onion, mushroom and cheddar).

Whitney B.

Yelp
First time visit. I'm halfway through my veggie egg breakfast sandwich and I am stopping to leave a review - the sandwich is THAT good!
google avatar

Gabrielle D.

Yelp
I recently stopped in on a Sunday looking for a whole pie after realizing other local bakeries were closed. To my surprise they had a whole fresh strawberry rhubarb pie. Not many people at the brunch wanted pie so we ended up taking the majority home. I hate to admit it but it did not last long, at all. So fresh, sweet and tart but not too sweet. Buttery and delicious. One of the best pies I've ever had.
google avatar

Ivy S.

Yelp
Lovely inside. Their coffee cake with Maine blueberries is extremely fluffy and warm. I enjoyed the hot sauce they make and playing checkers with pennies. Overall a nice bakery
google avatar

Fussy J.

Yelp
best breakfast sandwich EVER And, their coffee is perfection. I try to order something new, but I can't resist the breakfast sandwich. The staff is so friendly and welcoming, it's hard to leave.

Yelp
Nice little gem in Portland. This place was a great choice for breakfast. My daughter & I loved everything about it. From the fresh flowers on the tables to the local photography on the walls to the wonderful smells coming from the kitchen. Don't let Bakery fool you this place makes a mean breakfast sandwich & offers great coffee. Although I didn't have any the pastries looked fabulous.

Diane M.

Yelp
Stopped by for a breakfast. I had the veggie breakfast sandwich. It was like an omelette on a English muffin. It was the fluffiest eggs I have ever had. It was great experience.
google avatar

Kate H.

Yelp
Great coffee, scones, and fell of being very homey! Stumbled upon this place when in Portland on a last minute vacation

Shawna V.

Yelp
Not sure if it was an off day but my husband waited 20 mins for a breakfast sandwich. That is all he ordered. It was the sausage sandwich and not as great as everyone else has reviewed. It is a cute bakery but a 20 min wait .... we will not eeturn
google avatar

Katie M.

Yelp
Amazing breakfast sandwiches! I got the veggie and my husband chose the spinach. Both were stuffed full, but did not fall apart at all. A surprisingly hearty and satisfying breakfast. We were quite pleased!

Harry B.

Yelp
Super friendly and cozy space for a coffee and amazing baked goods. Try the ginger scone!! Loved the fully loaded breakfast sandwich. It was perfectly assembled and super tasty!
google avatar

Sunny M.

Yelp
Great bakery with delicious breakfast sandwiches and brownies! Very friendly staff as well!
google avatar

Lindsay W.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I were really craving some breakfast sandwiches on a weekend morning and yelp directed us here. The vibe was cute and seemed like it was exactly what we were looking for. I was hungover so didn't really eat mine, but my boyfriend said his was pretty good. He didn't rave though. The sandwiches are stuffed with a lot of egg - so it's really just a preference on how you like your breakfast sandwiches. I actually probably would've just preferred something without egg which they didn't really seem to offer. Staff was friendly but we waited SO long for our sandwiches. It was not an in-and-out experience. I think we waited atleast 20 minutes. It seemed like other people waited less time than us for their orders so maybe we were just an exception which is why I'm not knocking this down to two stars. I'm not sure if we would try it again.
google avatar

Jayla B.

Yelp
Nicest staff and best breakfast in portland!!! Highly recommend for a quick bite and a healthy option

Marianne S.

Yelp
Close by to where we staying so it was great to be able to get up and grab coffee and a breakfast sandwich or scone. I thought the scone was on the bland side though. Also i have a friend that has a food allergy staff seemed put out when she mentioned it. Also was disappointed they were not open on a Monday.

Katie D.

Yelp
We arrived to the bakery around 10:55 and the breakfast sandwiches were sold out. We asked if we waited 5 minutes, if we could get lunch sandwiches (the sign said available at 11AM). We were told no, they didn't not have time, because they had a large catering order. We left. Service was rude!

Don F.

Yelp
The single best breakfast sandwich in the city, bar none. Small sunny seating area, very friendly staff and all world muffins and pastries. Fantastic spot.
google avatar

Eliza M.

Yelp
I love Katie Made stuffs and have recently really fallen in love with their breakfast sandwiches made to order. Friendly staff and you can often see Katie in there baking. They are very friendly when I bring my baby in (not all establishments are) and they do a KILLER dessert. Take a moment to stop in - the open kitchen is immaculate and the food is absolutely worthwhile.
google avatar

Joanna F.

Yelp
Tasty tasty breakfast sandwiches. They use provolone cheese which is a treat for a cheese lover like me! Tasty coffee and cute window seating! Would definitely go back!
google avatar

Patty A.

Yelp
Best fruit pies around. Prepared the way a pie should be - no gimmicks! Especially great for Thanksgiving!!
