"Katie’s Kitchen, just outside Lancaster, has delicious potato soup ($3) — an Amish thing — and a big menu. It’s a 1970s-era restaurant that’s now Amish-operated and serves classic Pennsylvania Dutch food like ham loaf served with pineapple glaze ($10), and a pork-and-sauerkraut dinner platter with applesauce ($10). The staff is very friendly."

As an expert Google Local Guide, I feel I have to share my honest experience. I truly expected much more from this place, but unfortunately I was disappointed. We came here for lunch: the portions were generous, the prices were very good, the staff were kind and attentive, and the food itself was very well-prepared. No complaints at all about what we ate. The problem is the location. A restaurant’s atmosphere adds just as much value as the food — sometimes it even elevates it. Think about eating in the mountains: you expect wooden interiors, warm lighting, the cozy feeling of a cabin, and décor that reflects the local culture. Or imagine dining in a medieval castle: stone walls, heavy wooden beams, rustic furniture, and an atmosphere that matches recipes from the 1400s. Those settings make the food taste even better because the experience feels authentic and immersive. Here, instead, the dining area feels bare, cold, and completely out of place — more like a factory cafeteria than an Amish-style restaurant. Random decorations, mismatched furniture, and no sense of warmth or identity. Even worse, the bathrooms were dirty and had a strong odor, which is simply unacceptable. This place really needs a complete redesign from the ground up to reflect true Amish charm: solid wood furniture, warm lighting, and a style that actually matches the culture the restaurant wants to represent. Only then will the excellent food, good prices, and kind staff be supported by an atmosphere worthy of them.

This place is so busy so make sure you have time. They do take call ahead seating but you will still need wait once you get there. The lovely ladies who run the kitchen and serve were wonderful. We started with the rolls and they were served with a peanut butter spread. Food was delicious, there were no complaints at our table. This was a great find for lunch before our show at sight and sound.

The wait was about 35 min at 2-3 pm on a Friday. I didn't mind the wait, but it gets crowded/congested fast! Lillian was our server and she was so very nice and attentive. We are visiting from Texas and needed a good warm meal. We were not dissapointed! The rolls and the peanut butter spread were amazing! My husband ordered the Philly cheese steak and enjoyed it. I ordered the grilled fish, Mac n cheese, and a garden salad. Everything was so fresh and delicious! The staff was so so nice and all with smiles. We also had shofly pie and a pumpkin whoopie pie for dessert. Amazing! Tasted soo good! Highly recommend this place!

A must stop while in the Strasburg area! Typically during peak times they will be a wait, but we felt it was worth it. The food was hot and delicious! Our server was sweet and attentive! We definitely recommend this restaurant for some authentic Amish food and service 🥰

Very homey, clean and has very nice decorations among other cute items for sale. Variety of foods and desserts to choose from, as well as good portion sizes. Haven’t had meatloaf in years and it was really good, as well as the pie! A very nice place for the experience all very nice ladies.

We had an AMAZING breakfast at Katie’s Kitchen at 200 Hartman Bridge Road in Ronks, PA! Our server was Rebekka and you couldn’t ask for a sweeter or a more helpful server! Katie’s Kitchen is an owned and operated Amish-staffed restaurant on Rt. 896. It has a dining room with indoor counter and booth seating; as well as outdoor shaded picnic tables. They are open for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner every day except Sunday and Monday. They are open 7:30am- 7:00pm. On Saturday, they close at 6:00 pm. They offer Pennsylvania Dutch favorites including Amish desserts and soft-serve ice cream for dine-in or take out. The restaurant also offers catering service for events. Katie’s Kitchen has been opened since 2006. If you are looking for a delicious breakfast with Amish atmosphere, please look no further and try Katie’s Kitchen. They even have a very small but cute area that sells Amish goods (jams, children and adult Amish clothing and souvenirs). Rebekka left us a Bible Verse on the back of our bill!❤️

Went for breakfast about 8 am on a Thursday morning. Best scrambled eggs I ever had. I ordered the 2 egg meal with potatoes, toast and choice of bacon which I asked for crispy and it was! It server Mary Ellen was a pretty I believe Amish young woman with a pleasant demeanor and a beautiful smile. I notice that all the servers were just as sweet. I was unable to finish all my potatoes but look forward to returning for breakfast next time we are in town. Dining area is small but there is a counter on the other side. I never saw anyone there so they must get the people in and out in good time.

Each time I drove past there was a line out the door! This place is very cozy and is very welcoming. Service was phenomenal and food was great. Prices are beyond reasonable for the quality of the food.
