I got to play before a lot of great people! Brian, the sound guy, did a great job! I had no problem hearing everyone in the band. And the house drumset was excellent. We all had a great time. I hope we get to play there again real soon! I did not eat there, so I can't say anything about the food.

Great place to come listen to live music! We went to the "Jam Night" on Tuesdays. Bobby Rondinelli played drums. Everything sounded so good, and the performances, (musicians) are top notch! 15/10 definitely recommend!!

Great stage for bands. Wish they had seats with backs instead of stools. Uncomfortable to sit and nowhere to hang your jacket or purse.

Cool spot for live music - Interesting set up with pretty solid sound. Outdoor area. Cool looking bar. I'd visit again.

I love this place so much. I’m not a big drinker, partier, or bar person, but I’m here weekly for trivia on Mondays and karaoke on Thursdays. The owner and the bartenders are all incredibly welcoming. The pizza is amazing, thin crisp crust and full of flavor (try the taco pizza). They are in the process of expanding their food selections. The drinks are outstanding (ask for “the Liz”) If you are looking for a low-key chill place to relax, perform, and socialize, Where everyone is welcoming, supportive, and friendly, this is the place for you. This has been my new second home for the last year and a half. I am so glad to have found an establishment like Katie’s to frequent weekly.

A great place for locals to enjoy if they live in Smithtown. This bar is known for locals and a great community vibe is present when you come here for a show. Came here for Halloween which was a lot of fun. They had costumes for all people who came, a live band, some drink specials and whatnot. You can bet that you'll get your regular bar fare here in terms of drinks, bartenders don't make anything too crazy or fancy. If you want food there is a Portugese restaurant down the street that everybody frequents and brings into the bar to eat. Also, piece of Long Island lore, Katies is notoriously known to be Haunted! Many crews have been here to investigate finding creepy evidence of paranormal activity Could have swore I felt something tug on my cape when I was close to the wall. Hence why we came here on Halloween. Spooky and Fun!

Went to Katie's of Smithtown about a month or so ago to see my cousins boyfriends band. The place is really tiny, and the stage took up a good chunk of the room. They had Guinness and maybe one other beer I recognized but other than that there were newer beers. At least new to me. The service was good. Even though it was crowded with for the band, the bartenders got my beer out in just a few minutes. The bathrooms were at the other side of the stage, and the woman's bathroom was tucked back almost behind the stage, which was a bit annoying to get to

Oh boy do we love our Katie's! Katie's is always there like an old friend. So laid back and mellow with great atmosphere. Loads of dark beautiful wood all around. Downstairs is like a hidden gem and has the feel of a speakeasy. It's not open often though so look for special event nights. Great selection of revolving taps usually featuring local brews. Not much in terms of food. They sometimes have catering trucks parked outside to enjoy or a basic quick cook pan pizza. Nothing fancy but hits the spot when drinking on an empty stomach. Ok, so in terms of the so-called "hauntings", I've personally never experienced anything strange here but staff swear that mischievous apparitions appear to sometimes knock over glasses or throw things across the room so..idk the jury is still out on that one for me. The only spirits I've ever encountered there are in a glass!

Only go there because friends band plays there. Seems like typical local bar w typical bar flies. Standard beers. Even though they have food truck, expect food suited for children- chix fingers, fries and grilled cheese. So dont go there hungry!

It's always a fun time at Katies of Smithtown. They offer live music on many nights and a fun food truck outside. The staff is just awesome serving up some fine drinks as the crowd enjoys the music. The Stanton Anderson Band plays there on a monthly basis rocking the house with their original sound! A fun venue to hang with friends!!!!

The downstairs is now open and has a type of speakeasy feel. It's pretty cool and always a fun spot to go. However they do charge $20 at the door for a band and if you're not interested in the band it's not worth it. Overall good place

Had the food truck for a grad party. They did an amazing job! Good was great and the kids really enjoyed it. Everyone commented how great an idea it was. The staff was super friendly and the set up was perfect. Couldn't have asked for anything more. Food was delicious, hot and fresh! Would definitely recommend this food truck for any catering needs

This restaurant has horrible service, staff, and attracts unseemly people. Be sure to think twice about ordering and being a patron here. My family felt unwelcome, and a little grossed out by the quality of this establishment.

So let me tell you about "Katie's of Smithtown". This is a bar with a kitchen, that accepts credit cards as payment, and shares it's parking lot with neighboring businesses. As you enter, you'll notice that The Bar Area is located on the right hand side of the wall in a L-shape. They have about 8 beers on tap, with plenty of bottled beer, canned beer, hard liquors, and wine in-stock. Beer Flight is available for 4 or 8 glasses. They have a large selection of food to pick from, such as Appetizers, Mac And Cheese, Grilled Cheese, Salads, Burgers, Tacos, Wings, Philly Cheese Steak, Sandwiches, Hot Dogs, and Desserts. They offer Arcade Games such as Cards, and a Multi-Platform Gaming Machine, Free WiFi, Multiple TV's at various sizes, Touch-Tunes, and they have Live Music playing here. There's separate restrooms for men and women, and smoking is done out front or out back. This place has a cozy atmosphere about it, and is worth checking out. First class operation. Good food, pleasant decor. And great live music with one of the very best sound systems on all of Long Island. The owner/operator is a standup guy who supports the community and various charitable organizations. Highly recommended!

We came here for a nice drink to escape the cold and we happened to come on game night! I think it was Wednesday. The place was pretty empty around the bar area and had a few tables full of customers playing games. Definitely a place for us twenty-somethings! The drinks were good and the bar is really cozy and inviting. We also had a lot of fun playing the games that were left on the open tables.

The food sucks it tastes like McDonalds I'm never ordering again what a waste, I also received a crusty nugget and it smelt like farts don't waste your money and time here the people are nice but the food sucks ass

This place doesn't even deserve one star! First of all they charge a cover at the door for a band that never comes on on time. Waited 30 minutes and still no band. We really came for the food truck that promotes Mac n' cheese even has a huge sign on the truck. Only to find there was no Mac n' cheese. The lady was supposed to start at 8 and we waited a half hour to find out she only had frozen chicken tenders and grilled cheese. This place is a dump. Nothing like what it shows online. Waste of time and money.

Went to the place on a recommendation. The people at the front looked at me weird as if I didn't belong. They sat us in a table way too small and didn't give us water. The server was rude and short. Food was average. We went out and there are better options in the area.

Bar with live music. Finding decent bars with live music seems to be getting harder these days and finding decent bars with live music that is good is even harder. Katie Donegans fills the bill on both. A no frills place but not quite a dive bar, they serve up decent drinks in a fairly large room with a stage as its centerpiece. As others have said - there is an upstairs, downstairs and an outdoor area - but it was cold so we didn't try out the outside. The band commanded a $5 cover and frankly, I'm not a fan of the cover charge but I have to say, this was $5 well spent. The band playing was a Zepplin cover band and frankly, they were pretty damn good. Drinks came in pint sized glasses to get you in the mood. Decent sized crowd - with all generations represented so you won't feel out of place. Parking is on the side and at the LIRR station behind it.

good drinks, good music, good times! They used to host my roller derby team's after-parties. We always had a blast!

Katie's is an awesome bar in Smithtown, it's been around as long as I can remember. It's a step above the local dive bars- the inside has been updated with quality woodwork including a built in wooden bar back. Lots of local bands play here. They usually have a couple craft beers on tap in addition to the usual AB stuff. There's frequently a food truck out back for midnight noshes and a huge outdoor area for eating and drinking. Katie's is pretty much an institution and I hope it'll stay around a while.

Katie's has a few things going for it. The crowd is typically filled with friendly faces. Their bands of recent are actually pretty good! The beer selection is pretty good as well. They actually have two bars.. one upstairs and one downstairs. During the summer this place shines. The outdoor area is the spot, likely cause of the BBQ with awesome prices for food. Great spot on the right night to have a good time. Whoever Katie is, she must be cool.

As much as I enjoyed the pizzas here, finally the food truck has arrived. The grilled cheese really takes me back, and the waffle fries were amazing. I really enjoyed Karaoke Night and will be checking out Trivia night on Monday.

Cool bar, cool owner, cool bar tenders. Some great bands come through here. The food truck in the back is off the hook delicious!! Love going to Katies!!

Love going there on Tuesdays. Great music, great atmosphere. Great bartender and drinks. Fun place to go and have a few drinks with friends and relax.

Katie, Katie, Katie, you have so much potential, but fail miserably. You have a great stage, two story bar, location is right by the LIRR, a great outside patio, but how come every night its dead unless there's a fundraiser happening? Because your specials suck, you don't utilize the stage, you never ever change your tap, you are out of pumpkin spice on a friday night in october and you always close the downstairs. I still go here for the summer because there are only a few bars left in the area that has a sit down place outside. I want you to succeed Katie, please change for the better

I REALLY liked Katie's. I admit it... I love ghost adventures and ghost shows, so I originally just dragged my friends here because of all the haunted rumors. However I really ended up liking this place. I thought I was going to hate it the second they had us pay a $10 music cover before walking in.... come on.... if you can not afford to pay your bands then do not have them... especially when they are local cover bands.... I think what I really liked from Katies was the variety (okay and the haunted stuff too).... upstairs was like a rock concert (there was a great heavy metal band playing that night) the stage was a little crammed but the placement made it cool. The main area looked like it was newly renovated, or just not beat up at all. I could see it as a place for many ages. I enjoyed the 50s-60s motorcycle groupie crowd that night. There is an outside, which I hear is cool in warm weather. Unfortunately it was freezing and I did not go out there..... but I will once it gets warm! The downstairs was a completely different atmosphere. I saw the younger bar goers down there. The room was run down, with a foos ball table, pool table, and darts. I immediately got the feeling of a typical college dive bar. There was seating, and another smaller bar as well. I could not help but enjoy these two diverse floors, which served certain purpose depending on what mood you are in. I did not see any ghosts, but I did watch the most recent Ghost Adventure episode. FREAKY STUFF! Too bad the bar is like 40 minutes away from me or I would go more often.

It's fabulous! Katie's is the best Irish bar on Long Island. The atmosphere is far superior to the other bars I've been to, and believe me, I've been too A LOT. I've been to Irish bars all over Long Island and NYC, yet found no spot that compares to Katie's. It's magical. It's as if a leprechaun kissed this place. I love it!

Great atmosphere, great drinks and bartenders. The newly redone outside patio is very nice. The food truck serves great food until late hours. Classically designed interior is warm and inviting. Karaoke Thursday's is always a blast!

Great place; clean, well decorated, with beautiful dark wood bar. The outdoor area is nice. There's enough room for people to sit at tables and still have room for dancing by the stage. The tap list is heavy on Bluepoint, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Katie's is a bar with huge potential. The interior is beautiful and would be great for private events. The staff is lovely and always a great local community

Last night was my first time at Katie's and it won't be my last! This bar is beautiful and very clean. It doesn't have that bar smell. The A/C was on so it was comfortable. Most bars are too hot. The owner Brian is so friendly and down to earth. The downstairs area was roped off but Brian allowed my husband and I to go down there. We were hoping to experience some paranormal activity... The food truck had some delicious items. The outdoor area was really nice but we stayed indoors. The band, "The Angelo Gallo Trio" was awesome. They are a blues band with all original material with a few covers mixed in. The bar staff were friendly and the drinks were perfect! No "Bar Rescue" needed here! Everything was awesome and I can't wait to go back!

You think 8 shots and drinks would get you a buy back, but no many dollars down the drain and nothing back... :(
