A New Theme Park Is Coming to the Caribbean — and We Got Exclusive Details About the Rides

"Touted as the Caribbean’s first world-class theme park, this immersive, family-focused park centers on the fantasy storytelling of The Hidden Realms of Katmandu and features several signature, state-of-the-art attractions: Voyage of the Fathom Wanderer (a suspended-theater underwater adventure with a surprise ride element), Challenge of the Mad Mage (an interactive, multisensory 4-D theater where guests battle with blasters), Legend of the Desirata (a 4-D dark ride combining scenic elements, projection, and special effects to convey the origin story), and EtherQuest (an interactive walk-through gamelike experience). Smaller offerings include mini golf, an outdoor ropes course, indoor climbing, and a carousel; the venue emphasizes a “Big Experience, Small Footprint” approach and will open exclusively to resort guests in December before welcoming the public in early 2023." - Elizabeth Rhodes Elizabeth Rhodes Elizabeth Rhodes is a senior editor at Travel + Leisure, covering everything from luxury hotels to theme parks to must-pack travel products. It’s a quaint little park however a lot of missed opportunities to the general public. You can go during the day, however it’s so hot you feel like your melting so you don’t last very long. By the time you come back thinking it’s operating till 10pm or 12 midnight, almost everything is shutting down because after dinner from your hotel you arrive well after 9pm. You could possibly enjoy one or two games if your lucky and then it shuts down quickly. The staff shut it down way before 10pm or operating times making it even harder to enjoy. It has potential to be an amazing park but who ever is managing the operations MUST ASK THE PUBLIC for feedback. This will help them increase their productivity and revenue. My kids enjoyed all their 3D or 4D and it’s quite enjoyable but if it was just open long enough during evenings while the weather is a bit more enjoyable as well. So apparently Monday Tuesday Closed Wednesday to Sunday opens however times are what screwed me because Sundays it closes at 6pm but I was told 10pm? So anyway good luck and enjoy.

It was fun for my young boys, they enjoyed the mini golf and the upper level of the obstacles course. The staff was excellent. We had tickets included at our hotel so we went twice. I am not sure what it would cost without.

Katmandu is closed I think permanently, I was here once when it was opened, it was very expensive some locals said it was around the same price as Disneyland with zero rides, very sad to see it closed after such a short amount of time, I think 6months, my family view of the experience - it was much of the same you went into rooms and fired a gun at creatures then similar in the following rooms, one room /set I wasn’t allowed into because I had flip flops on so I waited outside and Out comes a guy in flip flops, I’m not even sure why you would be expected to wear shoes in the Caribbean, they had an ice cream kiosk that was invaded by wasps, there was also this really high climbing frame thing which was really no good for small kids and some adults, I understand it cost around 80m USD to build so it’s a bit sad really as my last video on this Mall was about the demise of the previous attempt on this same spot. the problem it has its in the wrong spot not a nice walk to get here and out of the way really, tourists want the beach and the entrance price was a ripoff.

Recommend for families with kids from 5 years old to really enjoy the park. They have some stores outside, like dolce Italia, ice cream and crepes store, and Mira (to shop nicely beach clothes)…and completely gift shop (I bought a peptobismol there). Actually they’ll show you a preview of the park until march 15, 2023 (their oficial opening). We went with our 2 years old kid and we had to wait until one of us get into the attraction and go back. I wish they had attractions for families with kids under 3 years old. Recommend attractions: challenge of the mad mage and the legend of the desirata.

Good time at the Katmandu Park. Our favorites were Mad Mage, Fathom Wanderer, high point adventure and mini-golf. We had a great discount as Melia's guest which made the 3h visit worthy.
