Went here for wine tasting only. I had an appointment. Another couple showed up without an appointment and were treated like they did something wrong even though when they joined the tour it was only 3 of us total. The tour part was OK, but the guide was bored. Then the tasting was a disaster. She made us pour out all of our tastes so she could pour the next one quickly. I've never been this rushed at a tasting anywhere. In Greece you can stay at a restaurant or bar as long as you want. This was the extreme opposite. She just wanted to leave as quickly as possible. So un-Greek. I had the opposite experience at the other winery in Metsovo. I will never buy their wine.

This review is for the winery tour operations. We arrived at 12:30 and there was a sign on the door that the next tour would be at 14:00. We came back at 14:00 and it was then told to us by the shop associate that it is a private tour…nowhere on the signage did it say it was private or else we would have just left for our next destination without waiting around. Just a suggestion, please be clearer on your paper makeshift door signage or utilize social media to communicate closures or private events. We squeezed in a purchase of a couple of bottles of wine before the private group took over. The wine was great, no complaints there! Cheers from USA

Very good hotel with friendly and helpful staff in a fantastic setting over the winery with historic references. Close to the center of Metsovo but in a peaceful atmosphere. Fantastic variety in breakfast buffet. Baby friendly also. Highly recommend.

Visiting Winery was great choice for gaining a better insight of economic development of Metsovo and entire region. We had Averoff wines in the local restaurants and that’s why we came to the winery. Beautiful place with well organised tour, entrance and the tour is free, you pay only degustation if you choose to try wines.

We got a very warm welcome at this hotel and I was impressed. Spacious room and lovely bathroom. Easy walk into the village center. Peaceful location. Breakfast was exceptional. Lots of local quality products and homemade pies and cakes. Best bacon I’ve ever had in Greece!!!

Visiting Katogi Averoff Winery was an unforgettable experience. Nestled in the heart of Metsovo, this winery beautifully combines tradition with modern winemaking. The guided tour was insightful, taking us through their rich history and the fascinating winemaking process. The atmosphere inside the cellar, with barrels lining the stone walls, felt both authentic and inviting. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable, passionate, and welcoming, eager to share the heritage behind each label. If you’re visiting Epirus, Katogi Averoff is a must for wine lovers and culture enthusiasts alike. It’s not just a winery, it’s a soulful journey through Greek viniculture.
