Well if you are, you should probably bookmark Katz's Deli right away because all of those major food groups are represented right here in a big way.
Five of us had a fantastic lunch visit yesterday and we loved everything. The decor, ambience, service, enormous menu, prices, portion size, and quality of the food.
We started off with complimentary bowls of pickles and cole slaw and then took on the task of navigating their enormous short story of a menu.
We ended up ordering two pastrami sandwiches, a cheeseburger, a chopped liver sandwich and a bologna sandwich. Sandwiches are available in 4 ounce, 8 ounce, and "Sky High" (with two meats) options.
I went for a small Matzoh Ball Soup, and because I'm donating blood on Monday (and wanted to boost my iron level) a chopped liver sandwich.
The soup was fantastic! Delicious brotgh plus a big fluffy baseball-sized matzoh ball, and carrots. And by the way, the "small" soup came in a bowl.
My sandwich was on seeded rye and I ordered it with lettuce, tomato, snd sliced onions. It was excellent and so big I took half home.
Our lunch with five drinks ran $81.69 after tax and before tip.
I would definitely return if in the area.
