"The largest coffee farm in the U.S., this estate sprawls over 3,100 acres and nurtures four million trees. Its roots stretch back to the early-1800s McBryde Sugar Company. Today, it uses the Pacific sun, rich volcanic earth, and ample mountain rain to produce smooth, delicious blends. Stop by its orchard and tasting room on the southwest side of Kauai, not far from the Russian Fort. Kauai Coffee offers free guided walking tours daily at 10 a.m., noon, 2 p.m., and 4 p.m. Or book a more detailed Coffee on the Brain experience, which includes a sample and traces beans from the branch to the cup (make sure to reserve ahead)."

Google
Such a quick and fun stop for coffee lovers. I can confidently say our kids would have been bored to tears but my husband and I loved walking the grounds, tasting all of the coffee varieties and of course, spending too much money in the shop. Totally worth it though and they shipped our goodies home for free!

Google
We took an unexpected detour to Kauai Coffee Company after spying the roadside sign on our way to lunch. Bummed we didn’t have enough time to do any of the tours, free self-guided nor the two-hour paid. Free coffee tasting from the sweetest barista I’ve met. So many coffee kinds and flavors to choose from. I had to get their buy “5 get one free deal.” They have ground as well as whole beans which they grind for free and re-seal to maintain the freshness. They have other snacks, clothing, and souvenirs for sale. There’s a giant coffee mug by the coffee plants, had to take our photos. Was running after the live roosters for fun. Parking was free.

We stopped by the plantation after our boat ride to try out Kauai coffee. They were giving out free coffee samples to try. I tried my first ever Iced Mocha Latte here. I loved it. My partner had a banana smoothie, which was delicious as well. Great place to pick up freshly brewed coffee and relax with a view of the plantations.

Google
Kauai Coffee Company was one of the highlights of our trip! The self-guided tour through the coffee estate was relaxing and educational—we learned so much about how coffee is grown and processed right there on the island. The tasting area is fantastic, offering a wide variety of blends and roasts to sample. You can really taste the difference in their fresh, locally grown beans. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, happy to answer questions and offer recommendations. The gift shop had a great selection of coffee bags, mugs, and local treats—perfect for bringing a little piece of Kauai home with you. Whether you're a coffee lover or just looking for a peaceful stop with beautiful views, this place is well worth the visit.

Google
Loved my farm tour and coffee tasting! The farm is beautiful, the staff are friendly and welcoming, and the coffee is delicious. The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and did a great job explaining the coffee production process and highlighting the sustainability measures that they use. I especially enjoyed her stories of growing up in Kauai and swimming in the irrigation canals!

Google
enjoyed the blended mocha and caramel coffee drink at Kauai Coffee Company, a smooth, creamy coffee with rich chocolate and subtle caramel notes that hit the spot without being too sweet. The free coffee tasting was the main draw, letting you sample their roasts and flavored blends at your own pace. Staff were friendly, sharing quick tips about the coffees, and I liked trying the nutty and floral options alongside my mocha-caramel drink. The visitor center has a relaxed patio for sipping, with views of coffee trees and green hills. A short self-guided walk through the orchard shows how coffee’s made, but the paths can get muddy, so wear sturdy shoes you don’t mind dirtying—our old trail shoes worked well. The gift shop offers beans and mugs, though it’s a bit pricey. It’s a quick stop worth making for the tasting and chill vibe, and I’d swing by again.

Google
Coffee Coffee Coffee! I enjoyed buying this brand in California so I had to visit the actual farm. Lovely drive to the site & you enter a small gift shop with an attached tasting Coffee shop. Then, wander outside to the walking self tour. This is not a long touring spot but a definite add to your vacation stops!

Francisco

Google
Great place to get your coffee for the friends you promised back home and to refill your stash. Also, a wide variety of souvenirs and free coffee samples. If you have time you can take the tours available. Then enjoy a hot or cold coffee or non cafinated drink if you prefer.

Yelp
We love stopping in at the Kauai coffee visitor center. As local residents, we get a 15% discount, which heads up for the coffee we'd love to enjoy! We particularly love to brew our coffee in our nespresso machine. There's nothing quite like it. And Kauai coffee delivers And provides Nespresso capsules! Mahalo!

Yelp
Fun free activity - Tasty variations - Book a tour Came on a cloudy day and it was a really fun an activity, I'd highly recommend. They have free samples ranging from all kinds of roasts and the flavors were fairly unique! I'd recommend to schedule a guided tour! Only $30, great for a low key activity or something to do on a cloudy day.

Yelp
Coffee tour is not worth the money or the time. I thought we would learn about coffee production on the island but got only a few interesting facts in an hour long open bus tour through coffee fields where the highlights were an irrigation ditch and the mulch piles, with a cup of lukewarm bitter coffee at the end (served by a hostile woman after waiting in line behind the other suckers). If this were $20 it would have been just okay-maybe. But $50 per person to listen to forced jocularity and bad jokes for an hour while learning next to nothing about coffee production? No thank you. Unfortunately I cannot recommend.

Yelp
The most logical stop after the canyons, since it's on the way back to the hotels on the east half of the island. Was amazed at all the rows of trees driving past before arriving at the company. Didn't realize all those were coffee trees and so much more owned by this coffee farm, biggest in America with 4 millions trees?! Free samples to try and grab a cold one too to recharge and check out the self tour. I remember years ago I used to buy up the kauai coffee vanilla mac nut cold brew coffee pods (concentrated liquid coffee) that made killer iced coffee at home. Not sure where that product went, they were hard to find in 2020, and it seems not even sold any more? Either way, good to check out the source of the past goodness:) Wonder if those concentrated liquid pods will come back some day...

Yelp
10/24/24 One if our few stops when in Kaua'i. Come & try some of their coffee samples. After stopping by to get Hubby's Aloha Shirts tailored by Jacqueline on Kaua'i, this plantation was just a few minutes away. Why not stop by? I will say to this day, I miss being able to sample the many pots of different coffees on our own (pre-pandemic, of course). Now we are barely given sips--which you cannot FULLY savor the coffee. Ever since, it has lost its luster for me. The staff are welcoming & always greeting every customer that walks inside their shop. Where the samples are provided (covered patio at the back of the merchandise shop) one staffer mans the coffee carafes to serve up a sip sample on a paper cup. Thankfully, creamer, sugar (& substitutes), stirrers are still complimentary in individual packets. Additionally, there's a window where you may purchase other refreshments like coffee, lattes, ice cream, malasadas on certain days until they are sold out, pre-made sandwiches etc. There are a handful of tables & chairs under umbrellas/canopies to enjoy your treats. A video is playing about their operation (pretty interesting). Self guided tours are available but customers may request private tours as well. Watch out for wild boars & their young, I encountered a few before (beware of their tusks!). Every year we come by to visit, I check them out for new things, I love to browse for shirts, local items (magnets, cups, pancake mixes & syrups, aprons, of course, coffee beans grown & processed in Kaua'i). It's still worth a visit.

Yelp
We stopped in here randomly so we didn't have time to book a tour. We did the free walking tour and tasted a couple samples of coffee. It was fun but very touristy. The staff were friendly. It seemed like a long wait if we wanted to order a coffee besides the samples which seemed strange since we thought they should have this together considering most people would probably want to order a coffee. The grounds was clean, pretty, and had great phot opportunities.

Yelp
Such a cool experience and the coffee is amazing. I'm currently sitting in Oregon drinking my dark roast Kauai blue mountain and dreaming of being back on the island. They have a subscribe and save option that we've decided to participate in because it makes us long for the island. Highly recommend a visit to the plantation!
google avatar

James G.

Yelp
We stopped by twice during our time on Kauai. They offer you unlimited free samples of all their coffees. They also have a window where you can order a variety of different coffee drinks, which I preferred. I had an iced coffee or hot, drip coffee, and both were excellent. They have a small gift shop and museum as well. You can also tour the coffee farm, and it is self guided. I loved some of the whole coffees and brought them back home with me. The staff were friendly and conversational. There are places you can sit inside and outside underneath the trees.

Yelp
Did not quite get the jolt I was hoping for on this return visit. It was a long time ago, but when I first visited, it was self-serve and that there were more coffees available. There is now a "barista" portioning out about 8 different samples from the coffee carafes. When someone asked for guidance or for opinions, the barista had none. Just tell her which one you want next. Instead of enjoying, I felt like I was troubling her. It was toward the end of the day, and maybe because of how long the coffee had been sitting in the carafes, none of them were that great. I remember being enchanted by the peaberry coffees before - totally disappointed this time. The closest I got to appreciation was the Typica and the Blue Mountain, but being generally underwhelmed, I couldn't fork out the $30-$50 10 oz price points. We did the self-walking tour again and enjoyed re-learning about how coffee is made. I appreciate that they even offer free samples and I would probably come back to give KCC another shot in the future, but I would not go out of my way for it. I do enjoy their basic blends from the supermarket.

Yelp
Fun place to stop and you can easily do a self guided tour with their easy to read signage with plenty of information. They also have free coffee samples and a great gift shop. They have a super small museum and lots of funny signs all over the place. The grounds are well maintained and just beautiful. The people working here were nice and generous with the samples.
google avatar

Alex K.

Yelp
Unlimited coffee samples and a free walk around tour? Sign me up! Walk in the through the gift shop and check it out. Lots of cool coffee related fun gifts. Leave the gift and have all the samples you want from 8 different varieties they have. Sit down and watch the informational video and learn about their process at the largest coffee estate in the Americas. Step into the little museum and see relics of the past. Talk a walk around back and read the signs about their process. All of this for free. But if you want to see their process in the works sign up for farm tour! Take home some of the coffee Hawai'i has to offer!

Amy C.

Yelp
Kauai Coffee Company is an amazing place to visit! Definitely take the ride tour - you learn so much from the tour guides who wholeheartedly love KCC! The landscape is gorgeous and if you love coffee, the free samples are great! All the staff were super friendly and helpful! I hope to visit again one day!
google avatar

Mike A.

Yelp
It's always a great place to visit when in Kauai! They have samples to help you figure out what you like best. They have hot coffee, iced coffee, blended coffee, and smoothies for purchase. Of course, the gift shop sells bags of coffee to take home as well as t-shirts and other tourist trinkets. Enjoy the ambiance of the largest coffee plantation in the US.
google avatar

Anna R.

Yelp
Hard to beat a free tour and some coffee samples. We stopped by shortly after opening to check it out. It was already getting a little busy! We walked in through the gift shop, full of local coffee and gifts, and headed to the back deck area. We enjoyed some samples off the coffee, including coffee that is only sold in Hawaii. We enjoyed some snacks and full coffees from the shop before we began our self-guided tour through the plantation. The signs throughout the plantation were very informative and guide you though to see the plants equipment. There is not much to see that you wouldn't expect. If I was a bigger coffee fan I might have taken the paid tour that goes a little more behind the scenes and in depth information. Overall, it was a great, quick stop. There is plenty of parking and a good place to hang out. The items in the gift shop would make some great souvenirs, including the Hawaii-only coffee!
google avatar

Yelp
We didn't do the farm tour but we did stop by to try some local coffee. They have samples of their hot coffee for free. There is information of the farm and the coffee bean process if you don't do the tour. They also have a walking path through coffee plants that takes 20 minutes you can do without reservations but it was too long for our little kids. The coffee was good, but we got iced coffee since it was hot and the traffics was backing up into town. The parking is ample and they have restrooms which is a plus this side of the island. Service was good, the taste testing lady was nice and accommodating. Answered others questions and joked around with customers.

Yelp
Free samples aplenty and cats galore - Kauai Coffee is a must stop. The picturesque landscaping, beautiful trees, and self-guided tour make for a memorable and affordable visit. I'm no coffee snob, but I found most of the samples of Kauai Coffee to be a too bitter for my liking. That said, the peaberry coffee was delightful, and we bought a bag to bring home. The self-guided tour is simple and beautiful. If you've done a coffee farm tour before, I would just do the free self-guided one here. They have a small cafe, to order coffee and treats, a mini-museum and a great gift shop. There's lots to peruse, and your coffee-loving friends and family will love the souvenir options they offer. I had a Mac Nut soft serve ice cream, which was the perfect treat to contrast the sun. Lots of fun Hawaiian wildlife, including cats, geckos, and birds - so get your cameras ready. You don't need more than an hour here, but it's a family-friendly and worthwhile stop in Kauai.
google avatar

Diesel L.

Yelp
Expensive tour ($52 per person) that drives you around the farm. Detailed tales of the company and their process; but no factory visits. They have arabica and robusta varieties on the farm; and let you pluck berries to taste. Good coffee sample tasting experience and service. Shop if good value if you can find some freshly roasted 100% Hawaiian beans. But, most were from 2-4 months prior and usually carry a best by date of 12 months from roast date. Museum is ok, not to say much there.
google avatar

Emily T.

Yelp
This was such a fun little place to visit! We came on a semi-rainy day so having a cup of coffee felt kind of romantic with the rain. Parking is plentiful as there is a huge lot. Cute photo opportunities out front with the giant rooster and coffee cup. The gift shop is up front but if you continue on to the back area they have coffee samples and a little corner where you can order lattes and drinks for purchase. I got a latte and it was soooo good!! Note that they don't allow food or drink in the gift shop so finish it out on the deck or take the coffee and enjoy the self guided walk around the coffee farm area. Gift shop has lots of cute stuff. I snagged myself a t-shirt and some decaf coffee to take home!
google avatar

John F.

Yelp
Fun place to visit if you are in Kauai ! Nice souvenir shop and outdoor patio. Coffee is good of course and some what relaxing too ....
google avatar

Katie G.

Yelp
Don't waste your time. Terrible coffee. Ice cream is the main hit and the coffee ice cream isn't too flavorful. There's so much potential here but wow so disappointed. Run down too
google avatar

Kris V.

Yelp
Stopped by to taste all the coffees - they also have a coffee bar with lattes, etc, a little museum, and a shady deck to relax on. Also got a couple fun t-shirts at the gift shop. You can also go on a tour if you want.
google avatar

Jason H.

Yelp
A nice spot for a quick break! Sample all of their coffee offerings, so you know which ones are your favorites! There's quite the selection, so this is a perfect way to do just that. All these years, I've been buying the Kauai Coffee beans in the bright blue bags from my local grocery store. Little did I know that the Estate Reserve -- Kauai Blue Mountain (Dark Roast) and Poipu Estate (Medium Roast) -- even existed. I guess I'll be ordering those online... Everyone is super-nice and the store is just incredible! A great selection of gifts, coffee and non-coffee, too. Ample parking and plenty of space to just sit and talk story. There is a short, self-guided tour, as well.
google avatar

Esther D.

Yelp
There is a free self guided tour through the grounds, a cute gift shop, and a coffee shop with excellent speciality coffees. Everyone was friendly.
google avatar

Kerry O.

Yelp
This is a tourist stop where after the few standouts spots are visited, you then decide "let's go there, we've nothing else to do".however, I enjoyed this one. They have a small museum, a 15-20 minute video on how they grow/harvest/make the coffee, gift shop and food spot. We were there for about an hour on our way to Poipu. It was on our list and we ended up buying some nice mugs, cups and T-Shirts.
google avatar

Alia G.

Yelp
If you're cruisin' for the day over on the southwest side of Kauai... swing by Kauai coffee for some java and a little walk around their (I was about to say Vineyard... but's that's not right.... hahahahaha)... their coffee trees. There are a lot of them. I think it said 4 million trees? There's a little self-guided walk with informational signs. I think they also do free guided walks so check their site for more info. They have a coffee bar with all kines of drinks. Check it out. They also have a gift shop with again... all kines of tings that make good kine gifts.... or if you're like me gifts for yourself to take home.
google avatar

Cody D.

Yelp
This is such a fun experience while on the island to learn more about Kauai's land and history. The Farm Tour is worth the money and time, our guide was so fun and sweet, and the property/views are beautiful. They provide free samples of their coffee next to their gift shop and have all their coffees for sale which is fun to see. Overall we were very happy with our time and would recommend to anyone visiting!
google avatar

Pallavi P.

Yelp
A coffee store located on the Kauai Coffee plantation offering a great selection of brewed coffees that you can taste before you decide on a cup. You can take a self guided tour of their coffee plantation and walk through as you sip on your coffee too! The store has a variety of coffee both beans and ground, and merchandise that you can purchase. They also have unique seasonal blends - the rum coffee roasted in the Kola Rum distillery barrels was exceptional. You can sip your cup of coffee on their outdoor patio while enjoying views of their plantation. Their staff is knowledgeable about their coffee blends and happy to answer questions that you may have. This may not make your typical Kauai itinerary but if you are into coffee, stop by here!
google avatar

Maria P.

Yelp
While this was a spot I was really looking forward to visiting on my trip, I would not say it's necessary by any means. This felt a lot like a tourist-trap, and I was not impressed by the coffee. The plantation itself was beautiful, and fun to walk around. The free self-guided tour was a nice addition. That being said, I think there is better coffee in Kauai and don't think this is essential to visit.
google avatar

Juls B.

Yelp
Come here and hang out for a bit. Enjoy free coffee samples and buy some coffee, and local goodies to take home to friends and family. Take a walk through the self guided tour of the farm here. They also have a guide to take you on the tour but we missed it so we did it ourselves.
google avatar

Erin S.

Yelp
I took an unexpected detour here with my friends and really enjoyed our time here. That had tons of free samples and a little exhibit. There was a path that we could walk through on our own. It was so pretty walking through the farm/gardens. The gift shop had a lot of cute shirts and merch. We ended up buying coffee and other merch to bring back as souvenirs.
google avatar

Eilleen L.

Yelp
I was at the Kauai marathon expo. They were providing samples of their drinks. It appears Asians are invisible to them. I watched them cater to white folks and turn their back on me when it was my turn. What they didn't realize was we were going to visit their farm on our trip. NOT ANYMORE!
google avatar

Heidi B.

Yelp
This is such a cute, laid-back coffee spot! Plenty of opportunity to taste many blends / flavors of coffee. Make sure to take a pic in the giant coffee cup outside - a definite keepsake.
google avatar

Deena P.

Yelp
It was neat to see where coffee is grown. Husband did the walking tour, I got a sample of the coffee of the month, and we both bought a blended coffee drink. The hospitality center is very small, the museum is small. The plantation itself is VERY big. Overall, we were pleased and enjoyed our time here. Nice bathrooms are a plus.
google avatar

Doreen T.

Yelp
We stopped by on a rainy day in Kauai. It was late in the day so I didn't need caffeine samples to keep me up at night. So instead we got a mango mojito popsicle and walked around the coffee plant fields to stretch our legs. I noticed items at the gift shop are a couple bucks cheaper than the same items at ABC store. I got a box of Vanilla Macadamia Nut Keurig coffee to enjoy at home to reminisce about my trip. Great stop for coffee lovers!
google avatar

Juli W.

Yelp
Super fun thing to do on our way back from the Canyons. Fun to learn about the coffees and had a popsicle too. Very good!
google avatar

Joyce L.

Yelp
This is a nice attraction if you're visiting island of Kauai. If you're a coffee freak like me then it's a must. You can sample their fresh, smooth coffee, browse around their gift shop. They have a tiny museum with antique coffee machines. Most of all, you can order drinks and dessert and unwind in this relaxing coffee farm and you get to smell like coffee all day. We were lucky that the weather was nice when we visited. No entrance fee. Clean bathrooms are also available. If you have little ones, this is a spacious area for them to run around.
google avatar

Chad K.

Yelp
I'm not quite a coffee drinker myself but this place was amazing. Filled with a lot of history and generation wealth and how this place transformed from how it was then to what this place is now was quite amazing. Staff and atmosphere here was very welcoming and they let you try samples of coffees that you want to buy. All in all it was a pretty cool experience. If you love coffee this place is one like no other.
google avatar

Audrey C.

Yelp
Stopped by here on the way back from Waimea and it was a great "rest stop". Didn't realize this was the largest coffee growers in the US! They have a free self guided walking tour of the farm which takes about 20 minutes. It was pretty cool since you get to learn facts along the way. Be sure to stop by the visitor center/gift shop area. There's free coffee you can sample and also a little museum. My fave was the caramel crunch coffee such was good black! I wasn't in the mood for coffee so I got a vanilla macademia nut ice cream cone. It was very good and there were plenty of Mac nut pieces inside.
google avatar

Marilyn N.

Yelp
A nice stop for a short free walking tour of the grounds. You can sample all the different kinds of coffee. Don't forget to get some ice cream!
google avatar

sarah v.

Yelp
This was a nice experience and I enjoyed their self-guided walking tour. I will say I am a coffee snob and I was disappointed with the quality of the tasters. The coffee tasted weak and I tried all available tasters. The service was excellent though and I commend the staff for being friendly and kind. I also realize that the types of coffee trees and beans grown in Hawaii differ from beans I typically use in my cold brew, but I would have appreciated some education highlighting how Hawaiian beans are different in flavor and strength from Columbian beans, for example. I came wanting to taste some strong coffee and I was disappointed perhaps because Hawaiian beans are naturally lighter than what I normally drink? Overall, still worth a stop if you love coffee!
google avatar

Linda N.

Yelp
We stopped here on a rainy day, and everyone was very friendly. There were endless coffee samples consisting of many different flavors. The fields of coffee were beautiful. We didn't take a tour, but there was plenty of videos and things to read about the coffee making process. We purchased coffee and merchandise in the gift shop which was fully stocked. Will have to come back for a tour.
google avatar

Jeremy P.

Yelp
Cool place. Glad we stopped in and did the self guided walking tour. Free samples as well w friendly staff who explained the different variations to us. Self guided tour takes about 20 minutes or so.

Tiffany D.

Yelp
This was a very fun stop for us! At the location you can shop, try all the coffee, and buy some sweets for your coffee if you like. Afterwards there is a nice walk around where you can see the trees and some equipment. It was lovely and I would totally go back
google avatar

Lisa W.

Yelp
I don't know why this attraction got so many good reviews. It was pretty lame. There wasn't anything to see. The self guided tour wasn't great. There's free samples of the coffee. We tried it all and it was just too watery. We only liked the decaf one. Everything else was meh.
google avatar

Marissa L.

Yelp
This last trip we visited here twice, first just to get some coffee to drink and the second time to stock up on coffee to take home. On previous trips we've done the tour which is also really enjoyable and educational. The coffee is super fresh here and they have tons of different flavors that everyone will enjoy. When it came to sampling they now have an attendant giving out samples if you ask for them. You can then buy a coffee to drink at the little kiosk outside and stock up on coffee to take or ship home in the gift shop. I always love their mocha's here and I had some coffee shipped home for friends and family.
google avatar

Philip M.

Yelp
Mark and I visited here while on vacation in Kauai. We needed to find local businesses to purchase gifts and that would offer free shipping back to the mainland and save us the stress of trying to stuff dozens of items into our luggage. Kauai Coffee has an unpublished offer to ship to the mainland when customers spend $100 or more in the store. Mark and I did the tour and enjoyed the small museum. We also enjoyed the fresh brewed coffee and artisan pastries. They offered free samples of the coffee and helped guide me on which coffee to purchase for gifts. The selection of whole beans and ground coffee is extensive with varieties to please all coffee drinkers. I spent over $250 on coffee and gifts here and everyone loved the coffee and cookies! My purchases literally arrived on my second day back home in Atlanta. The manager made sure to confirm my arrival flight back to Atlanta so that I would receive the package within two days of my return. Great products and service!!
google avatar

Joey W.

Yelp
I had my doubts that the tour would be worth the $20/person price. However, this was one of the most enjoyable times we had on the island. If for no other reason, go to meet Genny - she made the tour! She was knowledgeable and takes great pride in her company. She was as delighted as we were to see the piglets running along with the tour bus. A bonus is that you get a discount in the gift shop and because I bought enough bags of coffee, they shipped it to me for free. Was a nice perk I wasn't expecting!
google avatar

Sienna K.

Yelp
Really amazing tour of the coffee fields. Our tour guide Genny was amazing. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about coffee and the work the company does which made the experience so much better. We learned a lot about coffee in general, and it gave us a new appreciation for the cup of coffee we brew every morning. Great activity for any coffee lover and only takes a couple hours of your day.
google avatar

Elaine N.

Yelp
When in Kauai, of course you have to check out Kauai Coffee Company! Staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Coffee is free to sample (all different types), and also available for purchase if you want something fancier. There's also a small cute gift shop where you can purchase beans for later.. like the next day. Great pit stop if you're in the area! Pro tip: if you can before they close, they'll give you an entire 8 oz cup of their coffee sample since it'll be thrown out anyway!
