Kauai Farmacy

It is a healing garden rather than Farmacy. Astonishing views and abundant vegetation makes you forget you are on the Earth. Still you realized that you are not in heaven with the few stray mosquitos determined to keep the cycle of life running. The owner of the place looks like he discovered the elixir of the eternal youth. He might actually did it, given that the products sold here are pretty good. The cream healed my wounds from crashing against the reef pretty fast. I would even eat it (all pure nature based with incredible aroma), if not the price paid for it.

The land and the people of kauai farmacy are a blessing to the island. They offer unique and medicinal products- I've tried some of their infused honey, my favorite (so far) is the turmeric-infused one. I have used their comfrey salve to heal a bruised-bone injury on my wrist- it worked! I had the honor of attending Aubrey Barker's yin yoga journey this past month. The container she held was so safe and magical. Ben Livermore played incredible music throughout the offering. The experience was grounding and nourishing. I've explored the gardens and can feel and see the potent care and intention that's given to the 'āina.

Great place to visit. Vaughnie & staff are very informative & knowledgeable on their plants & products. Nice to see diiferent plants that can do good good for us in different ways. My daughter step on bee & was in pain & the head gardener grabed some plantan leaves had duaghter chew leaf & put on bee sting & pain went away shortly. Thanks for tour!

I bought ginger honey and comphrey salve, very satisfied with both. Unique tea selection and healthy products for inside and out. Friendly, knowledgeable staff and beautiful grounds.

On the day of our visit, I had been feeling particularly low and ill. I was struggling with pregnancy morning sickness for weeks. Our tasting started with the Love Potion blend, and I felt a relief start to come over me almost immediately. The the inspiration and love for the mission of the operation absolutely light me up; body, mind and soul. Jenna gave my particular situation such loving attention through the course of our garden tour. We got to nibble on many interesting things growing in the glorious gardens. The innovative ways the farm is preserving the herbs to keep every last bit of its potency was incredible. Just opening the bag is like looking at a piece of art. Everything with its brilliant color intact. This place and Jenna have a special spot in my heart. Currently sipping on a cup of the Women’s Wellness blend and feeling incredible gratitude for this experience and the feeling it invokes thinking of being in this magical place.

Great place. I have ordered online and now have I visited in person. the staff was wonderful and helpful the products are amazing especially the comfrey salve. We were also served the wellness tea which was excellent.

Truly amazing farm tour!!! You’ll gain incredible knowledge about edible and medicinal plants on this experiential farm tour. We had such a blast and were so inspired.

DON'T TAKE THE TOUR!!! It is nothing close to what's shown on their website. They have successfully used social media and the art of photography for their website. There was no structure from the parking to who is providing the tour and overall how the plants are cultivated. The team lacked knowledge about the plants, the island in which they are growing on, product ingredients, and benefits of their products. Part of the tour was to include a tea tasting. It was two teas that they didn't provide much explanation about or have answers regarding their process for making the tea. They didn't even know what tea they were serving so we could purchase it! Sampling was a questionable thing as well. We had to request to sample any of the items. The honey containers in particular appeared very used. No one used gloves or disposable spoons. There was dirty silverware sitting on the table that was clearly used to sample the honey. Odd because we were the first tour and they had just opened. Not a great experience and an overall disappointment. They appear to be transplants to Kauai who decided to garden without any knowledge about the island or what they're planting. We were literally told everything is an experiment. I hate to leave bad reviews but this was an expensive tour that took up time on our vacation to Kauai and was not worth it. I left questioning this farm in general and their products. Complete false marketing.

KAUAI FARMACY is off the beaten path and I love it. They offer Tea Tasting Events and we couldn't make it to those so I figured we could drive up there to check out the store anyway. Well, the "shop" is actually a small trailer beside their lanai, which they were busy setting up for lunch for their farm workers. How cool was that? I don't think anyone is supposed to be there when there is no Tea Tasting Event, but they were gracious enough to accomodate us and even allowed us to buy tea drinks. Like they made it for us and served it! I might have ruined it for everyone else now though and they will make sure that they are closed outside of the event times. Sorry! The LOVE POTION TEA was weirdly soothing. Felt like I was wrapped in a blanket indoors looking out of a window on a rainy day. The TROPICAL HIBISCUS felt like I was in a tropical island. Oh wait... Anyway, I love how I couldn't really pinpoint the flavors, but the feelings the tea evoked is clear. Tasted, and bought, some honeys too. Interesting take on the honeys. They had spices and nuts so they were more like marmalades that honeys that you could add to your teas. The garden is beautiful. There is limited parking, but it's surrounded by beautiful greeneries, fruits and flowering plants. It was a beautiful outing for sure.

This place is quite overpriced with pretty much zero customer service. 1oz of gotu kola for $55 (2oz is $18 at homegrownherbalist.net) and it came in a clear glass bottle rather than the recommended dark amber. Also, I ordered it on May 27th with no response for 7 days, so I called. No answer and the recording states it doesn't take messages. So I sent an email on June 3rd asking them to cancel my order and refund my money. Instead, they sent me an email the next day saying they have shipped my order today, "mahalo". Almost like a sarcastic response. No explanation, apology or even acknowledgment. The order finally arrived on June 10th. Ridiculous. I won't order from them again and I recommend anyone searching for organic, home grown products to try Homegrownherbalist.net. Dr Patrick Jones has lots of yt vids explaining all kinds of herbs and he grows tons of stuff on his property in Idaho. All organic and harvested at the perfect time. He was a veterinarian for 30 years and is also a naturopathic doctor and an herbalist. What a wealth of knowledge! He's very reasonably priced and ships his products out immediately.

This is a wonderful place with super knowledgeable staff that will teach you all the benefits of plants, teas, salves, spices and superfoods, locally sourced. They have an extensive list of products and deliver anywhere. But while on Kauai, go meet them and see this magical little place.

Idk what they paid the people who wrote the good tour reviews but this was the wildest experience I've had on the island! If you want to experience what it would have been like to live on a hippy commune, then this is the place. My husband and I booked the garden tour/tea tasting via Airbnb. It was definitely not what we were expecting. I'll start with the good and then get into the disappointment. Good: -Beautiful property -Diversity of health products Now for the disappointment... Our tour had no introduction. I literally was handed a nut cracker and told, "Start cracking these." And I had no clue why. I figured out it was for the tasting but the tasting was so unbelievably awkward, unorganized, and honestly uninformative. We would ask questions about how the farm was started, their background in farming, about the healing properties in the teas and no one could answer any questions!? The most info I got was, "The teas are good for you" and "turmeric is anti inflammatory" which are things that we all know by now. So if you're interested in the tour to learn more about those things, then you'll be disappointed. If you want to see a pretty garden and experience spiritualism at its peak, then maybe it's the tour for you.

When we read the posting about a lush organic farm that offered tea tastings and walks close to Kilauea we immediately included on our itinerary. However, we wish we had not. When we arrived to the farm at what seemed to be the staff lunchtime. They sat around a long table talking to each other. Those that did look at us did not acknowledge our presence. They were clearly enjoying being together, which was great except it left us feeling like we were intruding even though we there during their business hours. Finally, one woman came over to where we were pursuing the menu. There was no tea tasting but she said she might be able to make us a pot of tea depending on the water situation. (Still no smile or hint of kindness) Since we were there we decided to try the tropical chai - which did not taste tropical nor that much like a chai. The ceramic tea cups were beautiful as was the setting, but the only friendly being on the farm was the dog - a counterbalance to the coldness of his owners. Even when we wanted to pay we had to wait for a while at the cash register before one man got up from the table to take our payment (no smile, no parting pleasantry). The only possibility to walk around the farm was during a guided walk on Thursday. As we felt like we had already inconvenience the staff enough by our presence we decided not to sign up for it nor return to this little exclusionary piece of paradise.

The Kauai Farmacy is a lovely place to visit if you live in or are visiting Kauai! We did one of the tea tastings and it was very chill and enjoyable. I learned a lot about the farm's process, benefits of their products, and it was a great way to spend the afternoon! Things to keep doing: - sampling of teas and tinctures - casual and laid back tasting - informative but not overwhelming Things to improve: - when sampling the honeys we were each given one spoon, wasn't very sanitary - I would recommend handing out reusable tasting spoons - label the teas, we had about 3-4 teas on the table and weren't sure what we were drinking - create a menu of what you will taste that day with the benefits of teas/tinctures (would also be nice to have rating cards, so guests can keep track of their favorite to remember what to purchase after - might be nice to have hot warm towels, the tasting got hands on which was super fun but a little messy. Also it seemed the staff ate lunch before the tasting so the table was a little sticky/dirty from that Would recommend visiting and buying their wonderful products!

I've ordered from them with no problems the last year..... now I have a problem with a order since Sept. Don't know what's going on. Perhaps this business shut down. Emails are not going through either to inquire...

Unreliable and dishonest. Order product weeks ago. Never received it. Emailed customer service, slow or no response. Had to dispute the charge with my credit card company. I like to support small business, but not when this is how they operate.

Loved the garden tour. I learned so much and really enjoyed the experience. The staff were all very thoughtful. I would highly recommend. A couple downfalls that are minor, and I would still hands down recommend. - We didn't go over all the products on the table due to time which was a bummer. They were getting ready for lunch and they ate at the table we were sitting at so didn't really have time. - Wish they offered one other day to do tours. I understand though it's a working farm and it takes time away from that. Was just really hoping my husband could have come but we had stayed back with the kids as it's not a kid friendly tour. I would have hands down come back for a second tour the same week with him. They have so much knowledge and would have loved to have learned more. - Receiving a pen and paper to write with or maybe a paper with a guide of what we are trying, the benefits and etc and we could write on that with learnings, that way we had something to reference when purchasing and taking home.

Loved our experience at the "Farmacy". Such an unique experience and so blessed we had the opportunity to visit. Can't imagine a better way than to spend a peaceful Kauai morning than to sample their products and enjoy a cup of tea. Mahalo!

This was amazing. So very interesting to learn about the herbs and teas and how they compare to what I buy in the store. Our 11 yr old son loved it too. It was the best stop of our trip this week. We will be back and we will order online. Thank Jenna for the information and great conversation.

My husband and I did the tea tasting while in Kauai. We love tea and I could really taste the quality in this tea. The owner of the farm explained how they started and talked through their process. They allowed us to try as many of their products as possible. We did buy a couple of their teas, but I think their tinctures are truly remarkable. After trying their products, I felt really refreshed. We ended up buying the love potion tea, tranquility tea, and I got the chaste berry tincture for hormone balance.

Loved learning about the different applications for the teas, tinctures, sprays and salves. They have an amazing farm - stunningly beautiful. Its a one of a kind adventure and very memorable. Highly recommend!!

Are you interested in the way herbs can be blended and used nutritionally? Do you love things botanical? This is for you. They sell products daily, but they also have farm tours. The farm tour will enchant you, I think. Over a ten year period, the owners have carefully propagated an organic and sustainable garden which supplies the teas, balms, tinctures, hydrosols, honey and spices they sell. Learn about the 14 varieties of Tulsi, pick up the Comfrey salve my brother-in-law buys every year for his arthritic hands. Try the taste of 2 varieties of hibiscus. Well worth the visit!

A bit disappointed. It was beautiful, and even though I learned a little bit about the plants/herbs that they use in their products, I felt like I had paid to sit through a sales pitch for their products. As a previous business owner I understand the time and energy that goes in to making and creating a product, but their products, in my opinion were very expensive. I purchased a tin of tea and a tincture. That's two products. It was a little over $60.00, plus the $60 for the tour, was expensive considering what I received. I will not recommend this tour. Also, the jars of honey that they have out for sampling were covered with flies. When we were done, they put the lids (which had also been covered with flies) back on the jars, and I am assuming to be reused for the next tour, since they were 2/3's empty when we arrived. That grossed me out. The people were great, and I love the philosophy behind the products.

Beautiful, lush and relaxing grounds. This is where I will buy my teas from now on, they ship anywhere! The lady who assisted me was so extremely friendly and patient with all my questions (thank you) I'll be back for a tour on my next trip as I'll make time (I unfortunately didn't have much time)

We stumbled across this place after my wife read an article about it in Sunset magazine. We were in Kauai with our friends and all of us were on some sort of healing journey. After decades of neglecting our bodies with processed foods and other toxins, we had all spent the past year trying to reverse some of the damage. The five stars isn't for the benefits of their products - only will tell on that one. This review is for the incredible experience that was provided to us by Asher. He was vulnerable enough to share his own personal healing journey and intellectual enough to take us deep into the science behind the medicinal benefits of all their products. They only do tours a couple of days a week, so check before you come if that is what you want to do. For us, spending an hour (maybe longer) listening to Asher describe each product in detail was fascinating enough for us. We left with a bag full of spices, teas and optimism.

A friend and I did the tea testing and learned more about the farm and the many herbs! Ben was our host and he did a wonderful job sharing his knowledge. We also had a special treat of conversing with Genna and her wealth of knowledge. Wish we would have taken notes! It was such a fun experience! Purchased some great goodies of salves and tinctures so I'm excited to try them. If you enjoy learning about the many benefits of herbs and all their benefits, I highly recommend it!

Best tour on island! And, the products are incredible. The love, thought, and care that goes in to making these products is definitely like no other brand. I swear the salves and teas work like magic! The team is so knowledgable and eager to share. If you have an aliment, they have a NATURAL remedy. This was the highlight of my vacation to Kauai. I booked the tour and from the tea tasting to start with and the very hands on knowledgeable guided tour we tasted our way through the garden. We learned so much about caring for ourselves naturally and how the earth provides everything you need. Everyone treated you like family. I am planning on bringing some friends before I leave! Such a treat. Easy walkable tour for anyone!

If you dream to have a garden where you can grow ginger, turmeric, tulsi, cacao, and other medicinal herbs and use them to heal your body and soul, you're gonna fall in love with the Farmacy. They also make their own salves, teas, and superfood powders and they taste amazing. Everything is grown in the garden, dried using a 100% natural (non-electric) system and processed by hand. I spent 2 hours dreaming to be part of their beautiful group and spend my life working in the garden, drying herbs and mixing powders - and, why not, cooking with them.

I hidden Kauai gem that we feel very grateful to have found! We bout several teas as well as their teas.

The staff were really knowledgeable about their products and were pretty friendly. We also got to crack fresh macadamia nuts which my husband got a kick out of.

Awesome tour! All of their teas are absolutely incredible and they show you the whole process of growing, harvesting and curing everything from seed to your tea cup. Super knowledgeable staff and the owners are super passionate, caring and genuinely healthy people. Very motivating for anyone regardless of experience involving health, gardening and/or nutrition. Motivated my mom, grandma and myself to take our health into our own hands and all of us have since started to plant little herb gardens of our own. Favorite tea was the love potion and will definitely be going back for more.

Awesome tour and tasting of teas and plants. We loved learning how you process the plants to make teas and tinctures and balms and powders. The weather was probably one of the worst storms ever BUT it was all amazing! I can't wait to implement your teas and tinctures into my routine.

I so wanted to enjoy my visit there. We've tried their tea before at a local restaurant. So I knew it was great. But the experience going there totally left me cold. It felt more like we were intruding on the people who were working there and their personal space then we were welcome visitors and paid guests. Not sure what else I can say. Might try again but likely not. With a $12 small pot of tea and the purchase of expensive tea to take home, I expected just a tiny bit of Aloha. We felt as though we got none. It was very disappointing.

The Kauai Farmacy is a must stop for anyone wanting to support their bodies own natural ability to heal. They grow hundreds of medicinal plants and carefully harvest and dry them to make teas, salves, hydrosols and spices. We called ahead and booked a tour which enabled us to sample all of the teas and walk through the garden with an educated guide. Vani told us about each plant and let us taste and smell the leaves and blossoms. She was definitely in her element and her love of the farm was shared with us all. This was a wonderful way to start our vacation on Kauai. We will be back!

Excellent tour! Great products, knowledgable and friendly staff. What they are promote and sell is the way of the future, taken and learned from the historic pasts. Western medicine is entirely too focussed on treating the symptom vs. the cause. Herbs like this are health game-changers. Time to change some habits.

This place is already over priced and if you come back for more they actually try to charge you more and give some ridiculous reason why there now charging more. There are so many better places on the island. Avoid this place at all costs.

This tour (though I only got through half of it) was well worth the money. It truly was a life-changing experience. The whole team is so knowledgeable and thoughtful. They do a great job making you feel right at home. It's quite the gem-the perfect way to spend a few hours in Kauai.

Best experience for anyone who wants to experience Kaua'i like a local. I say that because you will be guided through an amazing botanical paradise that is as beautiful as it is useful! The plants that Kaua'i Farmacy cultivates promote health and regeneration of the soil. And now we can get to the actual medicinal teas and other products. ALL are grown on-site, harvested by a knowledgeable team, and transformed into a wonderful array of products via solar power! That's right! This is a Permaculture Paradise! Please do yourself a favor, skip the tourist traps and support an amazing Permaculture family & extended Ohana who are doing it right! This is the only tour on Kaua'i I can whole heartedly recommend. Worth every penny and then some!

What a life changing experience! We found out about this place from another couple at a dinner. They had read an article about them in Sunset magazine. Also Melina, a bartender at the Ukulele Bar at Hanalei Bay Resort, made us an iced tea drink with some of the medicinals in it. I'm recovering from oral cancer and Asher spent a long time with us explaining which products would be best for me. I left with teas, healing cream for my scars, & tulsi drops. I'm optimistic on my healing journey!

What a rare gem! First of all the uniqueness of the product .....it's focused on healing the body. The taste of the teas are phenomenal! We did a private class with Doug, the owner and mastermind of the business. We learned so much about the methods they use to grow and process the plants used in the teas. In the process we learned a tremendous amount about the medicinal impact of the teas. It was a life changing experience.

I was introduced to Kauai Farmacy tea via a film called Soul Science. I ordered the tea online and have been a fan since. I recently visited Kauai so made an effort to book a tour for myself and family (2 kids under 10 years). We really enjoyed the experience although I would say it isn't really a tour for kids as there is a lot of standing and listening. My kids were getting a bit restless towards the end. Myself and husband really enjoyed listening to the tour guide and learning lots of things about herbs and how they can help restore and heal you. We got to taste some teas and try some honey too. The staff were very friendly and stopped to talk to us and answer questions we had. This is a small, locally / family owned business so expect things to be a bit pricey. We didn't mind paying though because we like to support small, local businesses.

The gardens are stunning and the tour is fabulous!! Doug's knowledge is highly attuned to the garden and plants that they are continually cultivating and developing. Doug, Jenna, and their team are providing potent medicinal herbs that are healing one individual at a time!

Found the Farmacy tinctures and tea, then took the tour with Doug and Genna. Excellent experience all the way around. I'm so glad to have found their tinctures of Gotu Kola and Lilikoi. Amazing medicine. You'll be happy you found the place. I can't wait to go back!

My husband and I did the tea tasting/farm tour last week. Doug, the owner of the business led the tour. We had an amazing time learning about the herbs grown on the farm and the medicinal properties each possessed in healing the body. I agree with the other reviewer that it was a life changing experience. Everyone we met was very friendly and very passionate about their work. The tea was wonderful as well!

I stumbled upon Kauai Farmacy on Instagram, while we were planning our first visit to the island. My husband loves to garden and both of us have had positive experiences with natural supplements, so we were really excited for our visit. We were blessed with a smaller group size which gave the tour an intimate feel. Everything the farm produces is seasonal so no tour is really the same, but it was special because it was tailored to our group's needs and what was currently happening on the farm. We got to taste EVERY THING. From the teas at the table, to the leaves of pretty much every plant we passed in the garden, to pulling star fruit right off the tree. At no point was there a "hard sell" for their products, nor were there any unrealistic claims of their products (or any natural supplement) outright curing diseases. The leader of our tour was extremely well read and articulate concerning research studies and how the human body works, and you could tell that she really enjoys and values what she does. The heart of the farm is really to engage visitors with information that many of us are not traditionally exposed to. In a culture that develops a pill for every symptom, we've become really unfamiliar with the benefits that a lot of common plants offer. We've distanced ourselves from solutions we can find right outside our door. The overall feeling of being on the farm was a positive mood enhancer. You definitely get a "family feel" from those that work there, and everyone we encountered seemed genuinely happy. It's a testament to the idea "you are what you eat/do". We left very satisfied with the time we spent there, and encouraged in our continued journey to healthier and more natural lifestyles.

First stopped by their tea wagon. The incredibly sweet and knowledgable young lady at the cart gave us more information than if we had studied ahead of time. Her name was Anna and we would go back just to learn more from her. Healing teas, calming teas, just a healthy happy experience, locally grown and processed products what a rare treat.
