We stayed at Travaasa for 3 nights/4 days, and we enjoyed the food everyday. Being a self-proclaimed foodie, it's rare when I don't have some gripes. Everything we tried was delicious.

Google
Terrible food. Terrible service. they got my drink order wrong twice and the food took forever. Waitress was unfriendly too. If you're staying at the Hotel Hana Maui skip this place and go to the Hana Ranch Restaurant. (Which is also owned by the hotel, by the way—you can't escape!)

Yelp
We had a great experience overall! From the moment we walked in, the staff was incredibly welcoming and friendly -- the kind of genuine hospitality that makes you feel like a regular, even if it's your first visit. The food? Absolutely delicious. Every bite was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. We tried a few different dishes and loved them all. You can tell the kitchen knows what it's doing. The restaurant was also spotless. Clean tables, tidy restrooms, and everything felt well-maintained -- always a plus in my book. After a long trip to Hana, this was a needed and wonderful place to fill our tummies and rest before the trek back home.

Yelp
Fabulous place to eat! Food, service and atmosphere was above and beyond! All 12 of us loved what each of us ordered. Looking forward to the next visit.

Yelp
Hana Ranch Restaurant is really the only sit down spot in Hana and the lack of competition is likely the only reason it still exists. While it's certain that people here work very hard to prepare food and serve it, mainly for guests of Hana Maui Resort, there are simply not enough employees here. The result is a constant backlog, waiting incredibly long times to get food and staff running around in a state of frenzy. Thus, while sympathetic to the people who are working here, the current model of the restaurant is not sustainable and Hana Maui resort needs to establish their own dinner restaurant, in which scenario both establishments would benefit. When it comes to the food, it's edible, but that's about it. The local grass fed steak was not cooked properly for being a a grass fed cut, thus resulting in a very tough almost inedible piece of expensive meat. The burger was decent, but not great, meat tasted almost synthetic in it. Some decently priced wines, with a great find of Giant Steps from Australia. Out of respect the hardworking people here and knowing it's a small local business, giving the restaurant less than three stars does not feel right, but things do need to change drastically here. It's not enjoyable for anyone in the current state, neither the guests nor the overworked staff.

Yelp
Great view, but that's a given out here. Service was lackadaisical, cocktails awful, and food on par with a small town baseball field...all with the bonus of everything being 3 times more than you'd pay for it literally anywhere else and twice even for the local area. This was apparently "connected" to our resort while we were here and the food trucks were about to close. First bad food we'd had in Maui after over a week! I appreciate it's a ways out here, but being somewhere that has a guaranteed flow of guests from the hotel, they could do more to be a decent place after a long drive.

Yelp
Americans and foreigners be aware that the folks at this place are not friendly. I wanted to eat with my family after a 3 1/2 hour drive to get there from Lahaina, but needed to use the restroom first. All my family and I got were dirty looks from the host and staff telling us we couldn't use the restroom unless we were customers first. Inhumane. Inhumane. Simply not a good representation of their people and culture. To the staff of this restaurant, if you are not happy with life on your beautiful island, I hope you find it someday and soon.

Yelp
Food was super delish, loved the chicken sandwich & the veggie pasta. I cannot rave enough about the pasta, the noodles soaked up the flavor & every bite was good. Our server was nice & it was raining so it was so wonderful to see the rain from the restaurant since it sits up high.

Yelp
We had a lovely experience here from the lilikoi rita, lemonade and mule mocktail to the ahi, fish sandwich and kids bacon cheeseburger. The staff were wonderful and the setting was lovely. This is a must stop when visiting Hana! And give yourself the time to relax and enjoy it fully!!

Yelp
The Catch of The Day was mahi-mahi and it was fresh. Broiled perfectly and served with zucchini, grilled pineapple, and sushi rice in a green curry sauce. The service was great. We were seated outside on the patio when part way through the meal, a squall came thru and the staff helped move us inside.

Yelp
Besides being the only eating establishment in Hana open later than 6pm, there is good raleaeoen to dine here. Here are my 3: 1. Brussel Sprouts are bathed in a decadent balsamic glaze that will have you dredging the bottom of the plate. 2. Terrace puts the fresh in al fresco dining. Stunning views, too. 3. Room charge and earn World of Hyatt points. The service is satisfactory, but don't worry about that... This place is totally casual island vibes ... you know da kine. So, just sit out on that terrace overlooking the beautiful east coast of Maui and melt away into those sprouts.

Yelp
The food was very good and service was good but a bit slow. Quite expensive but considering how difficult it must be to get quality ingredients all the way to Hana perhaps that is justifiable.

Yelp
I felt like this was the only restaurant (not a food truck) that was open for dinner in Hana. The place is located up the hill with a beautiful view. We didn't have a reservation, yet, we were able to have outdoor seating before the sunset during the happy hour. We got the second row of tables, and even it was the second, we still had a perfect view. Our server was very nice, friendly, and very helpful with the menu. While having our dinner, one of the chefs walked between the tables, and chit-chatted with every customer. It was very sweet. We got 2 of the chicken wings from today's special menu. My mom and dad like the wings plain, so our server made it that way and provided the mustard for them to dip. We also got onion rings for the table, and I got sauteed shrimp. Every single item was cooked perfectly. But, if I had to pick one, my favorite would be the sauteed shrimp. Idk what was the sauce, but it was to die for. We were so full at the end, we even got some wings and onion back home.

Yelp
Extremely rude staff and poor quality food. Avoid at all costs! Bruddah Hutts is the place to go!

Yelp
The service here was great and the food was wonderful. Two of us got burgers, my partner got the fried chicken, and I got the ribs. I would highly recommend the ribs - they were very flavorful and tender. The slaw was not anything to write home about but the meat and the onion rings were delicious!

Yelp
This was so AmAzInG and flavorful! We shared double smash burger and the garlic Parmesan fries and haven't had that much flavor in a long time. Highly recommended!! It's probably the best place to eat in Hana! The service was really good and kept our drinks full and the view of the ocean was incredible.

Yelp
Food was amazing. Fresh quality ingredients- great service. 2 of us are this and we have lunch leftovers. Totally strongly recommend this place

Yelp
The ambience in the outside patio was nice but that was pretty much that was good. The servers were almost annoyed and looked overworked. We ordered grilled fish and it was the worst fish I've eaten, not fresh . When I inquired respectfully on whether it's frozen fish, the server didn't mention that it's fresh . Save your money & go elsewhere .

Hilo O.

Yelp
Great view from the outside seating and delicious ono plates!! Knowledgeable servers tell you what to do in Hana.

Yelp
Food was decent. I will say that this place properly salted everything, which I can't say for many restaurants, however depth of flavor was not really there. The edamame avocado hummus and crispy chicken sandwich were highlights for sure. The service was quick and attentive. It has a great view and it's really the only sit down restaurant in town.

Yelp
Ambiance: the restaurant is located in the center of Hana town, and it opens until late relatively, spacious dining area inside and beautiful ocean view Service: super friendly and very patient with questions, provided helpful suggestion, refilled water attentively Food & Drink: simple menu with choices for turf and surf FRESH FISH SANDWICH - ***** local seared fish, wasabi aioli, lettuce, pickled onion, avocado, tomato, brioche bun, one of the most fresh seafood food sandwich I've ever had, soft texture, highly recommend French Fries *** served with fish sandwich, average taste KALBI RIB - **** sake soy marinade, teriyaki glaze, grilled pineapple relish, rice, rich in flavors, sweet taste, recommend MAUI BREWING CO PAU HANA - **** light and crisp local beer, refreshing, recommend Price: it's on the pricey side for food but totally worth the quality, expect about $40 per person

Yelp
Food is very good. Service was wonderful after a day driving the Road to Hana. We stayed the night at Hana Kai to hike at the Pipiwai Trail in the morning. All great vacation elements to experience a local, low key vibe full of beauty. We would return to eat here. Next to farmer's market with local items.

Yelp
When in Hana, it's a staple to stop by Hana Ranch Restaurant. They pride themselves in using locally grown products from Hana town and the farming community. Hana is a special place and it's an adventure to get there. If you want to reward yourself after the drive, Hana Ranch Restaurant is the place to stop at. The ambiance at Hana Ranch is very welcoming. The staff is amazing and always has a smile on their face, ready to help and talk story. As for the food, it was delightful. My friend and I shared the ono special and shrimp penne pasta. It was such a treat after a long day of adventuring in Hana. The ono special was soft and tender, it was complemented with brussel sprouts and sweet potato mash. As for the shrimp penne pasta, it was flavorful and very aromatic. The shrimp was cooked to perfection and tied the dish together. Overall it was a lovely experience at Hana Ranch Restaurant and I will definitely come again when I'm in town.

Yelp
Beautiful location, good food. Looks like there's a nice bar! I loved the Maui mule, no alcohol but yummy. Our waitress was very kind, loved the steak it was a bit tough but had very nice flavor. Definitely a great place to stop for lunch or dinner after a long drive.

Yelp
Food (4/5): We got the poke, kalbi beef, and hurricane fries. Overall the food was pretty good. The poke was reasonably fresh and the kalbi beef was tasty. The only issue was that the kalbi was too salty and the hurricane fries wasn't crispy and was too salty too. Service (5/5): Really nice and friendly service. They were helpful, from, and checked up on us a good amount. Ambiance (4/5): Nice clean restaurant with a view of the outside ocean and forest. There are indoor and outdoor areas. The only issues were that the bathroom was outside and there was a weirdly positioned TV near our table that was easy to run into.

Yelp
Stopped on the road to Hāna to take a break and have breakfast. Food was great, service was excellent, but the view was amazing. Worth the stop after a long morning drive.

Yelp
First things first, the staff is awesome! I called a few minutes before last seating and they said we could order in the phone and pick up. We figured we were a few minutes from the restaurant and decided to drive there and got there one minute from the cut off time- we weren't denied! Yay! Everyone greeted us and were welcoming! The restaurant is cute, clean, and trendy. The ambiance was chill! They had vegan options! I got the tofu curry stir fry. Amazing! So flavorful, soft, crunchy at the same time. Overall would come here again!
google avatar

Yelp
Really beautiful views, be sure to set a res around sunset! Great food and great drinks, really recommend the veggie curry dish!

Yelp
Your only option for a "late" dinner around but you won't be disappointed. The view from the outdoor tables is great up on the hill and they have a good selection of options for entrees and drinks. We came here twice while we were in town- once for a full dinner and once for cocktails (and to feed our toddler). They have a solid kids menu (grilled cheese, buttered noodles, chicken nuggets, cheeseburger, grilled fish) and were very family friendly. Just wish they had high chairs but he was happy to run around a bit since we couldn't contain him

Yelp
Such a wonderful find. Was completing the 'Road to Hana' and stopped in for a lunch. So glad I did. I had the fish and chips. Service was fantastic (Mahalo Aolani). Get a table outside, the view is gorgeous.

Yelp
Upfront, this restaurant deserves 2 stars because it's one of the only few sit down restaurants in the small town of Hana. I ordered the Hana Burger and it was alright. I didn't enjoy it too much because I asked for it to be medium cooked and it was served on the more charred side. The fries and coke were the best things of my experience here lol. Also, our server was very blasé and had a standoffish vibe. She even forgot our orders before she left our table, asking us to repeat what we told her smh. On a future visit if I ever venture on the Road to Hana a second time, I will for sure try something else from their menu, just not any of their burgers.

Yelp
At first, I was originally not optimistic about coming here during my 2-night stay in Hana Town because of the mixed to rather negative reviews, but I'm so glad I gave Hana Ranch Restaurant a try on the first night for dinner. And I'm so glad I did. The hostess was wonderful and even though I didn't have a reservation, I was seated at one of the indoor tables within 3 minutes. The waitress was great and checked on me frequently to ensure I was all right and had everything I needed. I had the Beyond Burger, which is a vegan patty with lettuce, tomato, onion, avocado, and a brioche bun. Plus it came with a choice of fries or salad (I went with the fries). It was delicious and amazing. As expected, prices are higher on Maui and particularly in Hana Town, but there are not many dining choices overall. So the next time I am in the area, I will be sure to return to Hana Ranch Restaurant. One of the few places that is open late in Hana Town, and there is plenty of on-site parking.

Yelp
We absolutely loved our meal. We ordered the double smash burger, onion rings and side salad. The salad was so beautifully prepared. An arrangement of delicate fresh vegetables with sprouts, and the loveliest tangy vinaigrette dressing! We shared that. The burger was fantastic! Our server was Styles along with a team of friendly competent coworkers. Even the ice water was sparkling clean tasting. The view overlooking the ocean was magnificent. Perfect temperature perfect ambiance for casual dining. Our hostess was a very friendly Hawaiian Girl who was draped in beautiful Tahitian pearls and flowers in her hair. Thanks you!

Courtney E.

Yelp
Poor customer service and rude staff. I would not recommend dining at this establishment
google avatar

Yelp
The lemonade is fresh. The kalbi is delicious and has freshly chopped pineapple on it which goes really well with it. Atmosphere is nice - and if you like ukaleles, they have 50 of them hanging on the wall for a nice art piece on the wall. Service was on point and everyone was happy with their experience here. Worth the stop for a nice sit down in Hana town. Worth the drive

Yelp
Options are limited in Hana, but Hana Ranch was awesome and is definitely worth your time. They have indoor and outdoor seating with a nice view. I'd recommend reservations; it wasn't fully packed but again there aren't many options the later it gets in Hana. Let's talk about the food...kalbi ribs are where it's at. My husband and I got this and the teriyaki chicken and while the chicken was good, I regretted not doing more kalbi-beef short ribs and they were perfectly cooked, juicy, marinated and actually had quite a bit of meat on them for short ribs which can be somewhat skimpy and bony. The marinade for this and the chicken teriyaki is the same but tasted so much better with the ribs- The pineapple glaze/marinade served alongside rice. For drinks, I got a mai tai which was quite strong and had a passion fruit foam on top. Yum! Other friends got the steak salad and coconut curry with shrimp and seemed overall pleased with their selections except for a complaint that the rice was a little overcooked.

Yelp
All the food was hand crafted packed full of flavor! Ordered: Teri Burger, Fish Burger and Edamames, so delicious. The edamames had soy sauce and chile, they were sweet with a hint of spice highly recommend. The fish burger was so soft and fresh. The Teri burger was equally amazing with a sweet barbecue sauce. The view from back patio was breathtaking

Yelp
Food was not good and the vibe inside was not very welcoming. Would recommend you go elsewhere when in town.
google avatar

Trice O.

Yelp
Considering it's isolated from a lot of other restaurants, it's good! (We tackled the "road to Hana " and the Red Sand Beach and was in need of a break!) The staff was friendly and welcoming! For adult beverages, the mai tai was the best out the two (mai tai and ocean vodka). If you like spicy food the sautéed shrimp appetizer fits the bill, it was sooooo good! We ordered two salads and both were delicious! The outdoor seating had a perfect view of the ocean but the downside were the 6-8 flies that hovered around our food. We didn't go anywhere else in town to eat but I'm willing to bet that this is the best place in the area.
google avatar

Tania T.

Yelp
Ahi tuna poke was delicious. Tuna is fresh, buttery, and full of flavor. Highly recommend.

Mick M.

Yelp
Worth the trip to Hana alone! The drinks are top level, mixologist quality cocktails; the food is exceptional! This is NOT a place that rests on its laurels. You have the view, the place, the fact that it's pretty much the only sit down restaurant out there, and I expected everything to be just okay, but no! Everything was OUTSTANDING! Our server, Wailana, was the epitome of Hawaiian-style aloha hospitality. So friendly, efficient, and personable. If you are in Maui, this restaurant is a must.
google avatar

Violet B.

Yelp
We haven't been to Hana for at least six years and Hana has certainly changed quite a bit. We always drive to Hana and eat at this restaurant. It was pleasant to find it the way it was and we enjoyed the outdoor seating and foods (until we start driving back on Hana Hwy again!)

Abe A.

Yelp
Mediocre food. Amazing ambiance. Service was fine but not warm. Would not return. The hurricane fries were not great. The desserts were ok though -- particularly the cheesecake and ice cream.
google avatar

Andrew L.

Yelp
In this small town, finding a sit down restaurant is certainly not easy. When you find one, you kind of wonder whether you should really dine in it. Well, we were pleased to find this restaurant. The dining area was clean and well decorated. The server was pleasant and served us promptly. Menu was not extensive but offered enough varieties for our party of 3. Food was good; not exceptional. They did have a good selection of beers and drinks. The best part of this restaurant is their location. Quite relaxing with the view from the large glass windows.
google avatar

Bowen L.

Yelp
My girlfriend and I decided to stop by for a quick bite on our drive to the local beach in this area. We opted to share a chicken burger and it was disappointing as it was pretty dry and lacking flavor. The beer I got had residue from an improper cleaning, and was quite nasty. On a side note, the view of the ocean is great here, and lots of restrooms to use after the long drive, but the food definitely needs some improvement. Overall score: (1.5/5)
google avatar

Valentyna L.

Yelp
This was my worst experience at a restaurant. My husband and I were visiting this beautiful city Hana as tourists and we decided to go to this restaurant for lunch that has an ocean view. We were so excited but in a few minutes we got soooo disappointed. The hostess lady Auntie Kim was very rude to us and refused to seat us even though we were waiting over 30 minutes and the restaurant had many open tables. There are no reservations and several people who came after us were seated but we were told to wait. After I inquired how long else we have to wait, she got angry and told me in a rude tone that we have to wait - but no explanation was offered. We don't know if the food is good or bad but the service is terrible. I'll never come back here again and I don't recommend anyone else to come here either. This is not the way that people should be treated whether they are visitors or local.
google avatar

Bradley K.

Yelp
Mahi Mahi fish sandwich with hurricane fries. Really Good. I mean as the only option for later in the night eating, we didn't have much of a choice. This shouldn't make your experience bad. My experience with this restaurant is very good. Staff was awesome. Food was onoliscious. Born on Oahu and this is my first time to Hana. We had good fun here. This restaurant made it all the more enjoyable! Adequately priced for tourism and remote location, I feel like the price was fair. Don't go to Hawaii to order a burger, live a little!
google avatar

Wern O.

Yelp
TLDR: American style restaurant open late Pretty much the only eat in restaurant that's open late in Hana. Nothing amazing, prices are to be expected this remote.

Akhil J.

Yelp
Amazing food especially the pasta and tofu sandwich. Service was awesome, and good atmosphere . We thoroughly enjoyed the food.
google avatar

Richard B.

Yelp
Superlative fish sandwich and salad at the end of one of the most beautiful drives on the planet. The entire vibe of the Hotel Hana Maui is one of pampered luxury but this restaurant is down home and Maui Country. My highest recommendation.

Matthew E.

Yelp
Food was great for such a remote spot. The burger was 4 star and the ahi sandwich very fresh. Also the best onion rings.
