Kaum Jakarta

We were in Jakarta for a short break and were pleasantly surprised by the clean, balanced flavours of the food, especially since a lot of food in the city tend to be MSG-heavy. The menu offers an interesting selection of dishes from different regions of Indonesia, complemented by very good service. That said, we felt some of the dishes had untapped potential. For example, the garang asam soup could have been elevated further to better showcase the richness of its many ingredients. It tasted a little flat, lacking the punch we were hoping for. Perhaps using beef bones as the base could help develop a deeper, more robust flavour and add the beefiness the dish seemed to be missing.

Very nice ambience and very nice food. The place is in a large landed bungalow with adjacent high-roofed hall. Their menu is unique with dishes from all over the Indonesian archipelago. Taste is excellent. We had the sate maranggi, tumis buncis and kalio beef. The service is fantastic. Booked through google maps and was seamless…not always the case. Waiter was friendly, attentive and helpful..explained all the dishes..his name was Ferdy. Last of all we had some unique desserts and the bongko was really tasty. Would recommend especially for tourists

KAUM Restaurant has a beautiful interior that’s great for group dinners—spacious, warm, and comfortable. A solid choice for tourists who want to experience authentic Indonesian food in a well-curated setting. Special shoutout to our waiter Ferdy for his solid recommendations. Delicious food and gorgeous interior. We ordered a range of dishes and every single one was amazing. Very spacious, so it’s nice for big groups. The service was great and food came out really quick. Perfect for those who want to eat Indonesian food with a slight upscale atmosphere.

Really great restaurant! Ambiance was amazing, service was excellent and the food was delicious. We got the tumis keciwis tauco, lumpia tahu udang, mai goreng jawa, and garang asam iga and all were really flavorful! None were from the “shareable” side of the menu but all had enough food to share for 2 people. Would definitely recommend!

The food at Kaum was nothing short of heavenly with authentic Indonesian flavours elevated with a refined touch. The ambiance is perfect for both special occasions or simply indulging in great food. Service was attentive making the whole experience even better. If you’re in Jakarta and want to taste Indonesian cuisine at its finest, Kaum is a must-visit.

It's rare to eat such a beautiful and delicious Indonesian creative dish. I especially recommend beef tongue, coconut flavor, and then the cooking degree is just right, and the skin also has a thin layer of crispness. I've ever eaten the best cowhouse. The service is also very professional and the environment is very good. I have been here many times.

This place is not easy to find for first timer. It's a fusion Indonesian food. I think it's acceptable for me. And i understand the charm of this restaurant. Food is good. Desset and drink are good too. Service is great. Es doger is the winner that night. Colenak is too much changing from the original. But it's still good. Had a great time there
