Kauri Coast TOP 10 Holiday Park

We stayed five nights on a powered site and absolutely loved this beautiful nature spot. The kids had an amazing time with the trampoline and flying fox. The kitchen and toilet/shower facilities are basic but more than sufficient for our caravan camping style, and everything was clean as always.||We really enjoyed the rope swing into the river and feeding the eels. The only disappointment was that tube hire is no longer available—we were really looking forward to that before we arrived.||The self-guided kiwi experience was fantastic, and the kids loved searching around. Overall, a great family-friendly place surrounded by nature. We’d happily stay again.

We stayed here for just 1 night and it was a great camp site! We had a site backing onto the flying fox and the river which was very nice. The facilities were also good but not amazing. The shower floors appeared to drain into one of the middle showers in the mens block, meaning you would be getting adjacent shower water through into your shower if you were in the middle one.

This campground is well maintained and has required facilities which are kept clean and tidy. The campsites are a good size and you are not crammed in. When campground is full there’s a wait for the showers as only 3 showers. Only an issue on peak season for a month I believe. We only waited 10mins max for a shower (that was because the people before took a long time).||Plenty of activities to do in the campground: swimming hole with a rope swing, tubing on the river, flying fox and playground for the kids, eels to feed, & glow worms. You can hire a red flood torch and information pack about Trounson Kauri Park walk and kiwi spotting at night, this comes with a 5 minute information talk with tips for hearing and spotting Kiwis. ||It rained while we were there and there was surface water while it was raining (heavily) but this drained away quickly. ||Take your own cookware, crockery and cutlery as other campers have taken items that were there previously. ||Great place for a wee family holiday. Our kids are now 20 & 17 and they had a great time with us.

We had a great experience staying at the Kauri Coast Top 10 holiday park. It was the perfect way to connect with nature, spend quality time with the kids, and escape the fast time zone of reality. Clean grounds, lots of activities, swimming, flying fox, playground, nature walks, and more. We highly recommend this as your next destination and look forward to returning soon. THANKS!

Truly one of the best Top 10 location in NZ. This Holiday park is a true gem. Set in a glorious location surrounded by native bush with so much to see and do. The park owners have created a nature walk, a flying fox, you can feed the local eels and visit the glow worms. The facilities are pristine and very well maintained. But the most outstanding thing for us was the kindness and care from Tracy and Dale when things went wrong with our campervan. They helped us work through the issues and Dale superbly fixed the problem and got us on the road again. We just can’t thank them enough and they are just a shining example of the kindness of strangers. Thank you Tracy and Dale.

Kauri Coast Top 10 has so much to offer everyone. From family games of Pétanque, feeding the eels in the river, cooling off in the swimming hole or mega campsite games of football. The facilities are well maintained and we appreciate that the communal bathrooms are kept so clean (much cleaner than Auckland Council campgrounds we have stayed at).

This place is amazing. We stayed at the rent a tent. It was our first time camping so this was perfect. It's got everything to have a best camp experience. Will defeinetly come in future.

We love Kauri Coast Holiday park! Have been for NYE 2 years in a row in a big group and love the vibe, the activites for the kids, the wonderful staff (love you Tracy!!) and and fantastic facilities. Would highly recommend this place to anyone and everyone.

Brilliant Place to stop! Perfect place to stop just a few hours form Auckland. Close to the "big tree" Lovely spacious sites for motor homes, caravans and camping, next to the river, beautiful views over the river with walks along side, even have their own glow worms in the rocks! We took the night walk the camp site recommended, through the forest on the night of the cyclone with their infra red lamp! The managers of the site were awesome and told us what to look for and how to use the light for maximum effect. Creepy, dark wet but great fun. Saw possums, Conch snails, glow worms, silver ferns and 1000yr old trees. Although we met another couple that saw the Kiwi Birds unfortunately they hid from us! Would recommend this camp site everytime. The shower blocks were quite amazing the cleanest and nicest I have ever seen when camping 10*!
