Had an amazing stay in the sites with our motorhome, so many activities: eels, glowworms, flying fox, trampoline, garden walk, tv room, mlaundry,,hot showers. The facilities were spotless, close proximity to kiwi bird spotting at night (5 min. drive). Thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

We where honestly a bit disappointed. Only 3 showers and 4 toilets for the ladies in the whole camp. At camp waipu caves we had 3 times that. I would hate to come when the camp is at capacity as there was always a line and it wasn't half full. The river and swing is great but we all came thinking there would be rubber tubes available as per the video on their website just to be told they no longer provide this. There is beautiful scenery around but everyone came but absolutely covered in bites. No one in our party even mentioned coming back. Sorry but really disappointed.

Great spot, Stayed for three nights and four days. Kiwi's were walking around the carpark at night. Amazing old school N.Z.
Tracey and the team simple amazing. Really made us feel welcome. Kids swam in the river multiple times. So close to nature and just off the beaten track. Hoping to go back again next week

Stayed for 2 nights in one of the tents that are already set up. Lots of room and the air mattress were comfy. The river was super nice and it has a swing into the river i used it and I didn’t touch the bottom and I’m 6.2! it is also a Close drive to the lakes.

We have been to this holiday park many times over the last 15 years. They have some of the biggest and prettiest non-powered sites near the river. We've also stayed in a kitchen cabin, and in one of the fully serviced units one year with extended family. The facilities are great and the staff are even better. They treat everyone like family. Highly recommend especially for people who like more space, families, and those who enjoy a quieter park than the beach campgrounds.

This is one of the best places we have stayed in. Traveling with friends and when we arrived there was a number of different groups all waiting to check in. The manager Tracey was incredibly friendly and the waiting was not an issue as she was both efficient and friendly. This is definitely a place I would recommend and if possible stay longer than a day as so much to do on site let alone attractions near by.
We stayed in self contained 2room unit. It was well supplied and was clean and spacious ( good water pressure).
We went and swam in the deep swimming hole and even us adults used the rope swing. Then wandered to the flying fox which was a blast and I was happy I was under 80kg.
The pet tuna was a sight to belief and keeping them safe and well feed was a treat.
Met the super friendly owner on check out and he has put so much into this site and many up grades. Certainly a gem of a man.
Overall, one of the best places we’ve visited. Highly recommended! And thank you to all the staff for making it an amazing visit. Mauri Ora

We went with family and friends in a cabin and powered sites. The park is clean with very friendly staff that shares their knowledge of the area. The park is very peaceful with an amazing view! I will definitely go again.

Brilliant Place to stop!
Perfect place to stop just a few hours form Auckland. Close to the "big tree"
Lovely spacious sites for motor homes, caravans and camping, next to the river, beautiful views over the river with walks along side, even have their own glow worms in the rocks!
We took the night walk the camp site recommended, through the forest on the night of the cyclone with their infra red lamp! The managers of the site were awesome and told us what to look for and how to use the light for maximum effect.
Creepy, dark wet but great fun. Saw possums, Conch snails, glow worms, silver ferns and 1000yr old trees. Although we met another couple that saw the Kiwi Birds unfortunately they hid from us!
Would recommend this camp site everytime.
The shower blocks were quite amazing the cleanest and nicest I have ever seen when camping 10*!
