I’m sure this place is really great, but they need to be a little more clear about what you’re getting into. Most people understand that in the classic finnish sauna, men will be naked with other men and women will be naked with other women. However, from my understanding, men and women usually do NOT go into the sauna together naked unless they are a family. What this place does not tell you anywhere on their website is that it’s all men and women naked together. My girlfriend and I went together. She is 22 years old. Everyone else there was mostly large men in their 50s and 60s. There were also two older women. My girlfriend felt extremely uncomfortable when we found out that we had to go in naked with these older men, and I can’t say I was exactly excited for that to happen either. Call us prude Americans if you want, but given that many tourists come here, I think they should be a little more explicit about this. If we knew beforehand what we were getting into, we may have been more willing to do so. It just came as a shock to us, however, so we ended up just leaving after everyone else went into the sauna.
I’m feel like I missed out on something great based on the other reviews, but it just wasn’t something we were ready for.
