Kaurina's Kulfi

I purchased the Kaurina’s at Costco yesterday. I love Indian food, so I was excited to try them. The pistachio literally tasted like cleaning chemicals. The chemical flavor was SO strong that I could not eat it. I had 3 family members try it as well. One of them said “it tastes like a pool” and that’s spot on! They all agreed it tasked like chlorine. I’m seriously concerned as to why it was such a strong chemical taste. I threw it away immediately. I would NOT recommend purchasing or consuming these.

I genuinely dislike hurting people's feelings and I understand everyone is putting effort into creating a sellable product, but this kulfi, if you can even call it that, was absolutely mediocre and tasteless. This is NOT real kulfi. Hate to say it, but those 1- and 2-star reviews don't lie. It breaks my heart to read all these negative reviews, but unfortunately, they are true. This kulfi was not good at all.

I have been disappointed in my life so many times, like a zillion times, but the way I felt disgustedly disappointed was the first time when I took a bite at the pistachio almond kulfi. It is not certainly made by an american company as they would do a foolproof research to match the taste texture and nuance of the non standard non american food product. It is not certainly made by an Indian owned company as any Indian would know how a Kulfi tastes and feels in your mouth. This product was created by a person who seemingly is confused about the senses, chiefly taste, smell, visual and most critical sense of balance. Result is this piece of ice. My all non Indian friends, yes Kulfi is a great indian frozen snack, and it tastes out of the world, but this Kaurina's is slap on your face. Do Not Buy. If you have an Indian store in your vicinity, and if you have to drive 50 miles, do that and taste the good Indian Kulfi sold there. My all Indian fellow men and women. This is an insult to Kulfi. No taste, no texture, no flavor, shape is unlike a kulfi. Pure ice seems to have more flavor than this. Don’t just imitate. Time for some introspection and reimagine your offering. Sells their kulfi at Costco if you walk pass keep walking and let it rot , the owner has definitely never had a kulfi their life or they would have known how a kulfi tastes, this is an insult to kulfi.

It’s a family business that is making a quality product. Good quality. Clean label. And different from so many other products on market.

Should’ve read the reviews before I got it. Definitely would not buy again. Purchased the “Mango” flavor and there was zero mango! In my opinion, it taste like a condensed milk ice cream. Also pricey as well, you only get 4 mini size for about $7. I’ll stick with my usual ice cream brand!

I got my kulfi at Costco out of curiosity. They all are so delicious but I like the Malai Cardamom best. I’d like to buy it in quarts like other frozen desserts to serve at dinner parties!
