Kavos Naxos, Naxos, Greece - Explore & Book

"People often ask me, as someone who has been visiting and writing about Greece for 15 years, what my favourite island is. And I always answer Naxos, for its combination of gold-sand beaches and lush mountainous interior, of sleepy white pueblos and a lively seafront hora (capital). And my favourite beach on Naxos? That would have to be Ayios Prokopios, a long arc of sand and turquoise water placed just far enough from Hora to feel blissfully secluded, yet near enough (10 mins’ drive) to piggy-back on its engaging and unfancified restaurants, bars and boutiques. And my top tip for where to stay? You guessed it: the beautifully designed and immaculately run suites and villas of Kavos, with their rampantly exotic gardens, their spacious Cyc-chic interiors and their private verandas looking across sparkling seas to neighbouring Paros. There's a much-loved restaurant looking onto a pretty little pool, and it's a seamlessly run by English-speaking manager Loukas. Prices - especially out of season - are very fair. All of which, for a couple or family seeking a tranquil and stylish island escape, puts it squarely at the top of the heap. Highs Unbeatable location, on a sheltered. sunset-facing hillside above the bay of Ayios Prokopios You get the freedom of a rental (kitchen, private patio or roof terrace) plus the perks of a small resort (restaurant, bar, staff) We loved the colourful gardens - rose and herb bushes, lawns and bougainvillea-shaded patios If you tire of swimming and sunbathing, there's wind- and kite-surfing nearby, plus mountain-biking, horse-riding and hiking Naxos is well served by planes, ferries and hydrofoils from Athens, and links well with Paros, Santorini, Mykonos or Syros Lows You’re not right on the beach, but 15-20 mins’ walk above (away from any road or bar noise) Although you could manage without, life will be easier with a hire car, for shuttling to the beach and into Hora The area can get windy in summer when the meltemi blows" - Michael Cullen

This boutique hotel is really lovely and the staff are great staff.||We stayed for the best part of a week and stayed in suite 10 which had a large bathroom and open plan bedroom, lounge and kitchen. It also had a terrace with partial sea view. It was a short walk (less had one minute) to the bar/pool/restaurant area despite being possibly the furthest from those areas.||The suite was spacious and very clean (and kept very clean by housekeeping - thank you). The grounds are green and lovely - flowers and herbs everywhere (some of which contribute to the food and cocktails - great cocktails).||Infinity pool view is nice - straight out to sea (to spy on the big yachts and the rich) and big enough for a leisurely swim.||Food - the evening meals at the Salida Restaurant are simply stunning and at such a high standard. The specials were always special and the chef is clearly very talented. Waiting staff are lovely too and a great source of information.||Breakfast choices are comprehensive (great coffee) and very good.||We hired a car and Naxos town is only 10-15 minutes away and has supermarkets if you want to get more water and snacks. The town is lovely (especially the alleyways of the old town) and a short walk to the Temple of Apollo at sunset is special if crowded.||Overall - can't recommend the Kavos and its team enough.

Loukas, Edgar, and Ilana provided the best service you could expect at this lovely boutique resort in Naxos! Our family enjoyed 5 days here, and the views from our rooftop balcony were stunning, and the location was a short walk to the most beautiful beach on the island! We enjoyed the yummy food at the hotel restaurant called Stelida, but were also within walking distance to other restaurants or to the beachside tavernas or cafes. Loukas was so accommodating and helpful in answering questions, but also scheduling transfers, activities, couples massage and suggesting other great activities on the island of Naxos. Loukas and his staff engage with the guests in a very personal manner that makes it feel like you are family, making every guest feel right at home. The resort offered to store our luggage on the last day of checkout, which was great, but exceeded our expectations, allowing us the option to stay in our room for a fee to make things easier before our later evening flight. I highly recommend this resort - the rooms, food, service, and location were excellent!

Our family of four with children 12 and 15 had a wonderful time at Kavos! ||The people are just wonderful. We felt so well taken care of! Our daughter has celiac and they remembered at every meal and proactively brought her special food. ||We stayed in a three bedroom villa, which was plenty of space with great rooms and a great view.||Highly recommend! We would definitely stay there again.

I want to go back! Now! Really enjoyed our 4 day stay at Kavos! Loukas and his staff (Edgar Elena, etc.) offer excellent service, information, and clean, charming accommodations. |The food is very good; breakfast, lunch and dinner, served in an eating area overlooking the pretty pool area. |Loved the location! Pretty views, and easy to access other areas: the beach and town (about a 10 minute walk to the beach and shortly further to town). |We were two couples that rented a 3 bedroom/ 2 bath suite. It had a kitchen as well, lots of space. Would work well for families too.|I can't wait to visit again!

Great family hotel for kids because of the location to the best beach on the island. The hotel has wonderful staff. Everyone is very approachable. They take care of their landscaping as it is more green than other hotels. I was wary of the 3 star hotel rating but this place punches well weight deserves a higher rating. The family already wants to plan for next year to come back. I can't say enough good things about it.

The rooms are spotless and comfortable and the grounds are lush and well kept. Loukas and his team of staff are happy, helpful folk serving marvellous food & drink. The pool is divine. The view is sublime. The beach and village very close. And the cats are very friendly too.

We can’t say enough wonderful things about this sweet hotel! Loukas and his magnificent crew were so kind and so friendly right down to the last second (bringing us coffee delivery because we couldn’t make breakfast on our last day) . It was so cozy here! The little veranda was a wonderfully quiet spot to sip wine and gaze at the sea view . The food at the restaurant was delicious. This hotel is very quiet as it’s not on a heavily traveled road. The gardens were beautiful! We didn’t want to leave. 🥲

Staying at Hotel Kavos Naxos might have been the highlight of our trip. The rooms are comfortable and beautiful, and the simple and genuine authenticity of the place brings so much peace. The staff at the hotel are beyond friendly…you can tell they are good humans who love Naxos and are eager to share their love of the island with hotel guests. Apparently a lot of guests come back to this hotel every chance they can get, and I can understand why. Also, their chef won Master Chef in Greece, so you know their food is DELICIOUS. We can’t wait to go back!
