Kawai diving & fisherman's guest house

I will definitely come to this place again because the owners of Kawai guesthouse are very friendly. The rate includes breakfast and dinner. The dinner is really amazing, made from freshly caught fish of the day combined with local ingredients. The guesthouse is right on the beach, so you can enjoy your meal while watching the sea. If you are lucky, you can even see the deer on the island! My mother and I enjoyed our short stay very much. I will definitely come back next time to diving with their pet “Nine”!

Lovely guesthouse overlooking the ocean. Home cooked food including in the price of the room. Super chatty and friendly lady running it.

Our stay at Kuwai guest house was amazing. I spent there 4 nights with my boyfriend. The place is stunning: you always look at the ocean while eating the best food on the island. The guest house mum is a real cooking queen: she cooks with fruits & vegetables from the garden, always bakes fresh bread, and the fish is the best fish I‘ve ever eaten in my whole life. The rooms are cozy, clean and super quiet. We also love the diving day together with Kazumaru. He showed us some amazing caves around Aka. The most stunning reef of the island is just around the corner - 3 minutes to walk 🤿🐢 I would highly recommend this place. If you think about diving, snorkeling or just relaxing - go to Aka Island and book this accommodation! It was the highlight of our trip to Japan. Many thanks to the whole family to make our time on Aka and in Japan that special. 💫🙏

We went scuba diving with Maru from kawai diving shop. He was really professional and pleasant. The sites he chose were super beautiful and easy to dive. We didn’t dive for long time and he really made us feel safe and confident. Thanks a lot.🐢🤿

Kawai fisherman’s house is a great stay and a very good deal. The meals are incredible and filling. It is located close to the ferry doc but the owners provide pick up and drop off. There is good swimming in front of the stay. However, just a 20 min walk away and less are breath taking reefs. Glad we came, hope to come back.

Best spot on the island!! If you are a scuba diver, that’s the place for you! I don’t even know where to start… the hospitality is absolutely incredible! You can see Kawai (the owner) really love to host! Her whole family speaks perfect English and it was so helpful even when booking (book your nights at least 1-2 months before) she was very communicative and helpful. Her son was my diving instructor and they had all the gear for rent! He took me to amazing locations! The food!!! They have the best food in the whole island!! You seating there with amazing views and the food keeps coming 🤤😝😝 so delicious and Kawai takes pride of the food because she either grows it in her garden or it caught literally the same morning by the family! She showed me pictures, what made it extra delicious! Thank you for great hospitality 🙌🏼🙏🏽❤️

Spend 2 nights there and it was amazing. The house is directly on the beach, the view from the terrace is amazing. The meal where delicious and very generous. I did 2 dives with them. The equipment is well maintained. The diving instructor was reassuring with divers that were less experimented. If you want to dive with them don't hesitated.

Breakfast on a cove with a view off the terrace that’s simply a delight. The most charming spot I saw on Aka Island. Highly recommended. We were tagged on with our son’s family for meals and those were delicious. The chef is imaginative and even artistic in the presentation of the food. Very fresh food. Again, highly recommended.
