Kawona Beach Club

entry ticket is 20.000 rupiah (and you'll get to choose complimentary coffee, tea, or water). the view of Kawona beach is amazing! this place has a huge potential with some points to note: the staff might not speak good english but once you make a conversation with them, they're actually really nice. the service can be slow especially when you come in the morning just after they opened (but you'll be waiting with the beautiful beach view, so why not). while I enjoy the sounds of the waves and the breeze, they suddenly decided to put a music (tolerable at first, but then they blasted this loud remix music which kills the peaceful vibes). I was about to leave anyway, so I didn't ask them to lower the volume or turn off the music, but you might ask (I guess).

One of the spots that I often come, at least once a week :-) I could just relax, take a sunbath without anyone disturb me and safe to put your stuffs while you go soaking in the ocean. Entry ticket is 25k incl. drink, you can choose water, tea or coffee. It's open every day now from the morning till after the sunset, there is electricity. So, you can spend whole day here. They offer some food like Chicken, noodles and fried banana. Options of drink from Coconut water until beers and ice cream for dessert. Clean facility, kind employee and they serve you well. After playing on the sand, you can take a shower. There are toilets and shower available. Kawona beach is one of the best beaches I have seen, with white sand and firm ground, except the waves sometimes are too wild, better take a swim in the afternoon while the tide is low. This is not a beach club, this is a very bad tasting food Warung with a view. Like in most places in Sumba, the people there are very unfriendly, serve the worst food but they made the place looking good that they can charge you 20k to sit on a plastic chair under an umbrella. At least the food is cheap: 15k for a Mie Goreng that is just 2 minute noodles with an egg on the top. Avoid the toilet at all cost! But well... There's nothing else around so you might as well stop there. 1 star for the view because the beach is stunning and accessible for free a bit further down the road.

Not exactly like 'club' because the vibe is so tranquil and soothing. Not many options of food and drink. A hidden gem if you're looking for a quite place to stare and play in a beautiful clear ocean
