Kayangan Lake

It's a beautiful spot to swim in! The surrounding scenery is definitely the highlight and if you weren't up to swimming, enjoying the view is enough. The brackish water (mix of freshwater and seawater) makes it a great place to swim in - not painful for the eyes and fun to practice freediving in before heading to places with purely seawater (like the Shipwreck). Would spend more time here if our only objective was swimming for the day.

Worst overpriced and hypted tourist trap since a ling time. You are one of a couple of hundred people trying to swim in a lake in organge life wests. Save you money and spend it on a tour towards the north west of the island. In my puctures it has been 3pm when most groups already left. If you join an organized rour ... you are part of a horrible trip.

Nice serene lake with turquoise waters. The lake is brackish (fresh and saltwater) with a scenic backdrop of Limestone cliffs. Good swim but you need to have a guide & wear your life vest.

200+ steps of stairs to go up & down, total about 400+, it’s very tiring… I didn’t know that, if I knew, would skip this site in my customized private tour. The lake is nice but not stunning, warm clear water, not that many fishes, but lots of people. If not fit or bad knees, might as well skip this. Barracuda Lake js kinda similar clear nice warm water & mountain/sky views, with only 40 steps of stairs to go up & down :)

Kayangan Lake in Coron, Palawan, is one of the cleanest and most beautiful lakes in the Philippines. Visitors need to climb over 200 steps to reach the lake area. At the top, there is a stunning viewpoint where tourists can take pictures of the lake view. The lake's warm, clear waters are perfect for swimming, and there are fishes to explore while snorkeling. Several grocery stores are available nearby for drinks and snacks, making it a convenient and picturesque spot for visitors.

This lake is really pretty, but overall it’s a lake! You have to wear a life vest for safety reasons. We did this stop with Tour A and it was a good experience. There is a steep hike up stairs to get here. It’s not accessible by wheelchair. Also you cannot fly a drone here.

Kayangan Lake was the first stop on or private island hopping tour while visiting Coron. First was a bit of a trek up for an amazing view for photos. Beware of the mosquitos here! Expect a bit of a wait in line to get photos as well. Once we made it down to the lake, we took a refreshing dip in the water and enjoyed time swimming and floating around with the family. Great photo ops especially if you have a GoPro or waterproof case for your phone.

One of the most popular tourist spots in Coron. It is a clean and beautiful lake but very crowded.

Postcard picture perfect. Kayangan lake was part of our tour and it requires moderate hiking up a significant number of stairs. The hike up is guaranteed to challenge your cardio. The view from the cliff seems to be a hot spot with long lines forming during peak times for photo ops. The line moves quickly but if there is a large group taking group photos expect a significant wait. After you take your photo, you climb down the stairs on the opposite side to get to the lake. Visiting Kayangan, like many other attractions in Coron, will require coming earlier in the day to avoid the crowds. Everyone on tour is required to wear their life vests when entering the lake. Unless you are a strong swimmer, you can remove the life vest but you're going under the conditions of swimming at your own risk.

There are 2 lakes in Coron that if you take the 'island-hopping' tour, will take you to these lakes. We did this lake before we did Barracuda Lake. I will point out a harsh reality about this particular lake experience that some will not mind but could be a deal breaker for others. This lake is quite tucked in one of the smaller non inhabited islands. There is some serious trekking to do in order to get to the lake itself. You have to climb about 160 steps up and 200 steps down to get to the lake. The initial climb is brutal, steep with big steps. And the tropical heat can suck the endurance out of you...it did me. I had to stop once to take a breather and my legs were starting to quiver. But a few more steps I was there at the top but only half way there. At that halfway mark and cuz you are now perched over a mountain, there is a vista point where almost everyone will snap a pic (God Bless Social Media). Your tour guide will control your group and actually snap your pics to how ever many poses you want. So this can take a while but in our out only 1 tour group was in front of ours. I usually pass on this kind of bs but damn is this view worth it. I gave in shamelessly. After the photo op shoot you now descend onto the lake which is easy. But guess what when you're done with swimming in that lake you gotta do it over again. But the consolation is the climb back isn't as steep or hard as the one in the front. YAY. The lake is super refreshing once you take the plunge after running your body into exhaustion. The water is a perfect temp that you could float in it until you prune up. The color is amazing as well, I've never seen a lake of this color, kinda deep greenish/blue. And very clear. I actually liked this lake better than Barracuda Lake but to get here is some serious work for the weather conditions. But ya know what...I'd do it again. The exhilarating dip and reward of memories was worth it.

No one warned me that to get to the lake I'd need to climb up then down steep, precarious stone steps (I've read later that there are 300+ steps). The steps were uneven, certain spots were missing railing, and I only remember there being two benches: one at the top and another 3/4ths of the way to the end. My blind nephew made it to the top; but It would have been too difficult for him to make it all the way to the other side then back. One of our kind crew members actually carried my frail nephew on his back, down the steps, and back to the boat. THE POSITIVES: - Beautiful vista point at the top of the peak; but you'll usually need to stand in line and wait your turn. - When you're at the top, look behind you and take pictures in the cool cave. - There's a store that sells drinks and snacks. They're located between the pier and the entrance to the steps. Hubby didn't enjoy snorkeling here. He just saw mostly snails and razor fish; however there was a cool water monitor that we took pictures of. The lake is deep so life vests are mandatory for all swimmers. If I were planning to return to Coron, I would actually skip this tourist spot. There are other lakes that are just as beautiful but with way less stairs to climb and with even more sea-life to observe. If you're looking for a beautiful view, Mount Tapyas has stairs which are in much better condition with many benches and landings along the way where you can stop and rest. You don't even need to reach the top for a gorgeous view, just go before sunrise or sunset.

Beautiful place water is so clear and I really fun in this place our tourist guide was the best Mund and Mhegan they are the best they served us food in the Lake , great food and service , I recommend this place

One of the nicest lakes in Coron! A must see. I had to add it to the map while I had data! Now, in order to see this lake, make sure to find a tour that has this as part of their tour. Also, hopefully, you are a little fit before going here. You will need to climb up then down 204 total steps before reaching the lake! It was so worth the muscle aches the next day! Haha Mid-point, there was a place to take photos of the entrance of this lake with boats lined up. It was an amazing view of the clear waters!! Once you get to the lake, their is a U-deck with benches. The water was clear and blue green colors. Their is also a cave underground that you should swim in and take pics. Make sure to bring your GoPro for under water videos. Hopefully, it won't be busy in the lake for you as this was a popular area. Also, bring good bug spray as their are cases of malaria within the islands!! The guides warn you to put some on. Once you're done, make sure to get your fresh buko drink for 50php! Make sure to eat the buko meat! The buko itself is super heavy! I can get a good workout from holding my drink! I would love to come back! A great find and must come to experience this beauty! This was our first stop on our boat excursion. Our guide Rowena, made us wear a life vest and water shoes. The hike going up was not that bad and believe me I don't hike. Once you get to the top, take a breather and take some pictures. You then hike down to get to the lake. This was one of the places where we spent most of our day. I went snorkeling here for the first time and I enjoyed it very much.

Okay...I must say I have been to some beautiful places but this lake takes my breath away. Clear blue/green waters and nice temperature to swim in. Make your way to the cave as well. To get there is a bit tricky. Of course we were on an island hopping tour. But the 160 step climb up and the 204 step climb down was well worth it especially when you think that you would have to do it in reverse to go back to your boat. A definite must see while in Coron. Id love to stay here the whole day...or maybe half a day. Well worth it. And make sure you get your fresh buko juice before you leave from the local vendors.
