Total Tourist Trap, Overpriced, Tasteless Food, Poor Service & Shady Review Tactics.
This restaurant was one of the worst experiences in Istanbul avoid at all costs.
Food was overpriced. Two dishes totaled around 1200 TL before extras way more expensive than similar or better meals elsewhere in the city.
Taste was disgusting and unbalanced, My dish was basically just overly salty tomato sauce with almost no real flavor I could barely taste any chicken or peppers; it was so salty it was hard to eat. My mom’s dish had too much spice but still lacked proper, enjoyable taste.
Service was lazy and minimal: No offer for tea, water, or any extras. They just dumped a basket of bread on the table. We waited around 20 minutes for our food even though there were barely any other customers.
Added a 13% service fee (~156 TL) automatically, despite the nonexistent service just carrying plates. Felt like paying extra for nothing.
The high overall rating is fake. I saw some comments mentioning that waiters/managers threaten or pressure guests to leave 5star reviews, or offer free baklava in exchange for 5 stars. That explains the 5star rating, despite the poor food and service many seem incentivized or forced.
Overall, inflated prices, bland/over-seasoned food, slow service in an empty restaurant, hidden fees, and manipulative review tactics aimed at tourists. There are tons of authentic, affordable, and delicious spots in Istanbul, skip this one completely!
