"Of all the accommodations in Maui’s tony Wailea resort community, the 22-acre, waterfront Fairmont Kea Lani may be the most family-friendly of the bunch thanks in large part to its all-suite-and-villa setup. The property’s 450 guest rooms are some of the biggest on the island—the smallest suites start at a generous 860 square feet, while the two- and three-bedroom beachfront villas weigh in at 1,800 square feet and up. All cater to families, with separate sleeping and living areas, entertainment systems, furnished outdoor space (for lounging and dining), sleeper sofas, and some type of kitchen facilities, while villas encourage group gatherings with plunge pools and BBQ grills. Both adults and kids will love the deep-soaking tubs, too. Elsewhere, three indoor and three outdoor pools provide space for fun when kids’ club activities (among them volcano building, hula lessons, and tide pool excursions) aren’t on the agenda. Grown-ups can also amuse themselves with activities like outrigger canoe journeys, cultural programs, tee times at three nearby championship golf courses, and locally inspired treatments at the Willow Stream Spa, which offers dedicated fitness and wellness programs. Fuel your adventures at the five on-site restaurants, including the seafood-focused Nick’s Fishmarket Maui (with its 2,000-bottle-strong wine cellar) and the award-winning Kō, where the flavors are inspired by Hawaii , the Philippines , Korea, and beyond."

Breakfast buffet is excellent - very nice variety with some elements that change each day. Custom omelet/egg station, varying fresh juices, cocktail shrimp, and Asian breakfast items. Breakfast was included with our room so we ate here every morning. If not included, I could see that such a large breakfast would not be necessary every day on vacation, but it sure was fun!

Google
We stayed at the resort for 10 days and was able to enjoy the delicious breakfast at Kea Lani each morning. The variety was great and food was fresh. In addition to the delicious food, the hotel staff were incredibly friendly and made each morning a memorable experience. Thank you Barry and the team!

Google
They have an extensive breakfast buffet and a custom omelet bar. The outdoor seating was tranquil and inviting. The service was fantastic!

Google
Great place for lots of choices for breakfast, food is also pretty fresh!

Google
Great spot to grab a cocktail and snacks while you watch the sunset. I love their decor and the cocktails are really good. The Logsdan is particularly fantastic if you're in to smoky whiskey drinks. The food menu is limited but quite tasty. Even when we don't stay at the Fairmont we like to pop in for a cocktail and a sunset.

Decided to splurge a little and treat myself and family to a nice breakfast in wailea. As locals we have our usual spots but decided to give this place a try since there was a kamaaina special. We weren’t disappointed. I had my fill of smoked salmon, ahi poke, bacon, and eggs benny (all buffet so that was a plus). Kiddos had everything and the wife really enjoyed the atmosphere. Not stuffy, great staff (Venus was our server) and the kamaaina was a plus. Coming back again.

Google
Extensive and delicious breakfast buffet! It's only open for breakfast, but man does it deliver! Such a wide selection of options to choose from, and all were consistently being restocked and kept hot. Doesn't have a specific pancake/waffle station like four seasons, but still has those items in the buffet. Well worth the money!

Google
Awesome experience at the wonderful Fairmont Kea Lani resort breakfast buffet. This has to be the best on Maui. Staff was amazing, the buffet options were plentiful and everything tasted great! Top notch all the way!

Yelp
Yes yes yes!! The breakfast buffet was everything and more. It's pricey but incredibly worth it. Fresh juice of the day, water, and coffees served up immediately. And the food! My favorites were the frittata, smoked salmon, ahi tuna poke - both regular and spicy, sticky buns, pineapple cream cheese scones and the lemon yogurt blueberry parfait. Husband loved the omelet station. Kids loved the bacon (both Turkey and regular), chocolate muffins, sticky buns and fresh fruit. This is a must - I highly recommend!

Scott G.

Yelp
The poke dishes were the best we have had anywhere. The freshest catch you will have. The breakfast is worth every dime. Amazing fresh fish, vegetables, and fruit. The traditional lard ass fair of bacon, sausage is ample for the 300 pounders

Yelp
Venus was her name! A talk first about the amazing service of Venus for several days straight. She was off this weekend and we could definitely tell the difference. Now about the food, a beautifully displayed buffet that started us off daily. We were appreciative of the gluten free options and the omelette station (kudos to the team member manning the station-he remembered the kids) as well as a daily to-go coffee. Thank you Venus and Fairmont!

Yelp
My family is on vacation in Maui. We are staying in Wailea and found the Kea Lani Restaurant for brunch. The food is good and the price is what you'd expect from the Fairmont. The omelettes were probably the best food item which are made to order. What especially stands out however is the service. As we approached the hostess stand my daughter (who is just under 2 years old ) saw a stuffed animal in a glass case. She wanted the stuff animal and threw an absolute fit that she couldn't have it. As we sat down she continued to cry and scream. I took her out of the restaurant but she continued her tantrum. This went on for 5 or so minutes. Then the hostess did something so unexpected and generous. She bought the animal and brought it my wife. My daughter was so happy from then on that we could actually sit down and enjoy the rest of the morning. I just wanted to thank Rachel the hostess for the kind gesture. It really did help. I also want to mention our waiter. He was very attentive and kept coming around making sure we had anything we needed. He kept filling our juice glasses with their daily juice which was delicious. I want to thank the staff for making our morning more enjoyable.

Yelp
The breakfast buffet was awful. Eggs benedict was bland, the ahi tasted like old fish, the fruit was not sweet, chia pudding had no taste and was like eating chewy glue. Strawberries and kiwi were mushy. Finally, the juice was from concentrate and the coffee was burnt. I cannot take the risk of eating this food and getting sick, especially not at the Fairmont. I spent $60 to leave hungry

Yelp
A fantastic breakfast buffet that did a great job observing Covid regulations when I visited in November 2021. There is a fantastic selection of items at the buffet, and my personal favorite was the daily fresh poke. We had a rude female server on our last day, but service was great other than that.

Lyndsey E.

Yelp
Good buffet breakfast. Lots of options. Great service. About $50 a person but we felt it was worth the price.
google avatar

Megan G.

Yelp
We came here for the breakfast buffet several times while staying at the Fairmont. It's quite pricey, but the variety and quality of food was good. They have surprisingly good pastries, salmon, chicken katsu, salad bar, omelette bar, eggs benedict, scrambled eggs, bacon, waffles (the coconut syrup is good), a large assortment of bread/bagels/etc., and more. Like other reviews mentioned, birds do attack tables with food on them very quickly, so don't leave any food lying around unattended!

Yelp
While the restaurant offers an extensive buffet, I really enjoyed ordering off the menu. I absolutely loved the wailea avocado toast. The pickled onions on that was delish! I totally could have had another, but I opted to split the sweetbread French toast with a friend. The French toast was already yummy enough to eat on its own, but I loved that it was served with butter and WARM bottles of maple syrup! Fancy! I'd also recommend one of their fresh juices. I go the mana which means strength in Hawaiian. It's made of beet, tomato, carrot, cucumber, apple, celery, and lemon.

Yelp
My favorite part of the day is to start with breakfast at Kea Lani. Whether sitting inside or outside the views are inspiring. The menu offers a unique variety and the buffet is exceptional with more uncommon choices than most resorts I've stayed at across the United States. Pricey but worth it in the case. Bon appétit

Yelp
The breakfast restaurant at the Fairmont where thank goodness kids 5 and under eat at the buffet for free, the service is outstanding, the birds are aggressive, and the food is a mixed bag. They have Christmas colored laser lights, some static, some moving, in an attempt to shoo away the birds. This is not a unique problem to the Fairmont - we also saw many birds attacking unattended food at the Westin - but they do seem to be particularly aggressive here, even when there are still diners at the table. My ratings tend to be heavily weighed towards the food, and our experience here was mixed. The buffet seemed to have a nice variety, and our daughter was able to find something everyday that she could eat (mostly bacon). The first day she also got an eggs Benedict that looked pretty good and a blueberry pancake; the second day she went for a poi English muffin and toast. They had an omelet station and a make-your-own waffle iron, but it wasn't exciting enough to make me want to pay for the buffet for myself. My husband and I shared our breakfast. The first day we ordered the Portuguese sweet bread French toast with passion fruit syrup. It was meh. Granted, I have high standards for French toast, but I wouldn't get it again. Couldn't really taste the passion fruit in the syrup either. The second day we ordered the fried chicken with bacon cheddar waffles, and it was outstanding. And believe me, thanks to my husband and the fried chicken and waffles craze that has taken over LA, I have many points of comparison. The chicken was crispy on the outside and tender and moist on the inside, and the waffle was nice and crisp and well flavored. We also ordered a side of bacon. The first time it arrived, it looked like it had been cooked to death - not burned, but brown all the way through and dessicated. The bacon my daughter got from the buffet looked much better. We pointed it out to our server, and they brought out a new plate and comped the bacon - that's pretty impressive service, in my book. The hostess also remembered our name on the second day, and when they ask if you have a table preference, they really try to accommodate. On the second day, my husband asked for a table outside and I pointed out that the bird problem was even worse, so he revised his request to something on the border, and they literally gave us a table that was just inside. Although they always looked like they were doing brisk business, we never had to wait more than a couple minutes for a table and there was never a line at the buffet.

Yelp
I arrived here on my first morning in wailea with quite an appetite and was not disappointed. The restaurant is in a quiet corner of the resort. We were greeted warmly and seated right away with no reservation. The presentation and variety of food here was outstanding. I left feeling satisfied and happy with everything I tried at all the wonderful stations at the buffet. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Service 5 Stars Buffet Food Quality 5 Stars The first day i ordered chilaquiles and they turned out to be pretty good better than expected. Yes it was $28 however if you are looking at eating at any resort like this you will know that this kind of pricing is standard. If you are a local Hawaiian you know where to go to find something to get a bang for your buck. This review is intended for people looking for places to eat in the immediate area, which is where we learned taking the buffet route was actually not a bad way to go ! Their eggs Benedict are great freshly made omelettes by the chef are good too. Great selection of breads and fruits etc. what I liked most besides the Benedict was that everything appeared to be very clean and organize and cost the same as ordering specific breakfast item on the menu.
google avatar

Justin L.

Yelp
Perfectly acceptable breakfast buffet. Omelet station was the highlight as the chef was very good. Bacon was crispy and muffins were good. Otherwise the options are very steam table reliant and not terribly fresh. Service can be uneven. The place is also absolutely overrun with birds, which was entertaining from my perspective. Wouldn't pay for it, but it was clutch to have this free.

Yelp
One of the best breakfast buffets, lots of fresh fruit to choose from (strawberries, pineapples, melon, papaya) and selections of bacon, eggs Benedict, link sausage (not farmer johns kine, but thick quality kine). They have tons of pastries, fresh (not stale) and an omelet station with a kind humorous chef. He made me his "special" omelet since I couldn't decide what I wanted and it was super delicious. The staff is stellar, attentive, friendly and always smiling. The only issue is the aggressive birds that come in hordes to try to steal your food. A good pellet gun with a scope that can fix the problem...

Yelp
I'm a local here on Maui and decided to treat my parents to brunch here for my Dad's birthday. We had an amazing experience! The staff was helpful and friendly, and their food selection was great. They had the perfect mix of local-inspired and traditional breakfast favorites, including eggs, bacon, sausage, potstickers, bao buns, fruit, poke, sashimi, sushi, miso soup, prime rib, lobster Benedict, etc...I'm getting hungry again just thinking about all of it. Their drinks: fresh fruit juice, Bloody Mary's, fresh fruit juice mimosas, and local coffee were all amazing as well. We left full and satisfied! Whether you're staying at the resort, or a local like me, go check out their brunch for an amazing start to the day!

Yelp
The Kea Lani Restaurant has one of the best breakfast buffets I've ever been to. The service is excellent and the food is delicious! My favorite part of the buffet was the omelette station. At first, I was skeptical that they had one chef making 6-8 omelettes at once, however, he proved me wrong. He was an absolute pro. They have several different veggies, meats and cheese to choose from for your omelette. I went with a bacon, ham, swiss, spinach and onion omelette. The sides of bacon and sausage were also perfectly cooked! The sides of potatoes and hash-browns were very good as well. For people who prefer a sweeter breakfast, the buffet also has waffles and pancakes with assorted syrups, sauces and dessert toppings. The buffet has an additional section for fresh Hawaiian fruit, deli meats and cheese. I loved the Brie! The servers were attentive in refilling coffee, water and juice. My favorite juice was the orange guava. I also liked that they switched up the variety at the buffet on a daily basis. If you are staying at the Fairmont, be sure to visit at least once! My family went three times during our week vacation.

Yelp
We came here the other morning for a breakfast date after the kids went to school. I know, sneaky right! But, us parents have to do what we have to do. Parking is easy and free in the parking lot of the Kealani, or you can choose to Valet park your car as well. The walk in through the hotel lobby and down to the restaurant is beautiful! They have a bamboo sitting area, waterfalls, flowers, and views down to the ocean. We waited in a brief line at the hostess station and then we were quickly whisked off to our seats. You can choose between the menu items which sounded amazing and had choices for almost every diet you can think of, or you can choose the buffet. We love a good buffet so off we went. They have an omelette station with a super kind gentlemen working it ready to take any order you may have, there is a yogurt/oatmeal bar with all kinds of yummy toppings to choose from, a gluten free section that includes pancakes, muffins, and french toast, and they have all the regular staples like ham, sausage, eggs, eggs benedict, hash browns, bacon, pancakes, waffles, biscuits, soups, sushi, salads, cereals, fresh squeezed juices, smoked salmon, bagels, fruit, and so much more! Everything was delicious and we stuffed ourselves silly! We took a walk around the grounds to work off some of our breakfast, and then headed out. It was a wonderful way to start the day, and I'm sure we will be back soon! One side note: they have some crazy little light beams that flash around to keep the birds away(a problem with outdoor/indoor seating), so please don't feed the birds.

Yelp
My family and I were in Wailea looking for a breakfast restaurant with quality, great service and different options. Our experience from the Aloha at the hostess stand with Milika, the buffet room offerings, Bryson was very kind to help carry our extra plate, answer our questions and tell us about the different sections. We really enjoyed The chicken potstickers, eggs Benedict, the cantaloupe carpaccio is delish!! Just as we thought that was it, Bryson walked us over to the omelette station, Raffy was so sweet and makes an absolutely delighted short rib moco. Our server Valle keep our coffee hot, served us the delicious juice of the day, her service was very attentive. Highly recommend having breakfast here at Kea Lani restaurant.

Yelp
We had breakfast buffet. So much good and fresh fruit, like papaya, grapefruit, blueberry, strawberry, pineapple. Etc. I love fruit. Oatmeal bar, gluten free bread and quiche. Muffins are small but tasty. Toast and bagels with cream cheese, butter and jam. Cereals and milk. Guava and other fruit juices. Coffee served by waiter at the table. Coffee tastes mild and dull. Still not compare to Starbucks and Peets. There is omelette bar to order. Many hot items like eggs, pancake, waffle, sausage, bacon similar to other hotel buffet. Just average taste. All for $36 adult and half that price for kids. Birds, sparrows mostly, are everywhere trying to get some food from your table. I thought it's cute. As if you are in the jungle but they are not hurting me. They also have white rice and miso soup. Tofu and seaweed on the side to add to your soup.
google avatar

Karinna C.

Yelp
The breakfast buffet came with our room, so we are eating here every morning. There's a lot of selection, although I was a bit disappointed when they ran out of watermelon. The omelette bar is great, you can choose what goes in your omelette and watch the chef make it right in front of you. They also have miso soup, which was a nice surprise. My favorite would have to be the pastries, which are fresh daily. Warning: you eat outside, so there are a lot of flies and birds to watch out for.
google avatar

Andrea C.

Yelp
Absolutely fantastic breakfast buffet. One of the best I've seen!! Full omelette bar. The most incredible fresh baked goods you've ever seen. Magnificent fruit selections with the islands rare and unique fruits. Every day they have a freshly squeezed juice. Inside and patio seating is available. Friendly staff
google avatar

Cory L.

Yelp
Great buffet with selections for everyone..... scrambled eggs, egg whites, egg Benedict, omelette, bacon, Turkey bacon, panackaes, oatmeal with all the fixings, muffins with goodness and badness, miso, rice, fruit, sausage, toast, fresh juice, and so much more. It's all you can eat so bring your A game and eat away!
google avatar

Christine J.

Yelp
yummy brunch! all you can eat everything or order a la carte. we were here twice, everytime the quality of food is always fresh, even at the buffet! a solid, upscale buffet with smoked salmon, eggs in many diff ways, ham, deli meats, fruits, salads, etc etc etc. love the open door/window policy. you feel like you're eating out even when you're inside, though it can be windy at times.. and birds everywhere. delicious neverthelessssss.
google avatar

Kiki H.

Yelp
Good value for the buffet brunch. I was really surprised by how good the eggs benedict were! Everything was fresh including lots of different fruits and lox. They could do better with the pancakes and waffles, they aren't memorable, but I appreciate the variety they have on the daily basis. I'm sure the weekend brunch is awesome but I sadly didn't have a chance to try.
google avatar

Jenni L.

Yelp
Breakfast Buffet $36 pp + tax. it was okay. There are fruits, bacon, sausages, yogurt, rice, miso soup, oats, juices, muffins and order to make scramble egg. Simple and standard.

Ann P.

Yelp
We went to KOs for Christmas Day lunch and the service and the food was awful!! Our waiter didn't even introduce himself to us. Very grumpy attitude and I can't believe that Ko's who is part of KeaLani would have staff like him representing himself as a team of Ko's.!! No one wanted to say anything as to not ruin the others Christmas and when we left we could not believe we all felt the same way!' That it was the worst Christmas lunch ever!!!! Plus we stuck in the back of the restaurant so we had a pole for a view‼.lovely
google avatar

Angelina U.

Yelp
I had the best omelet ever!!! Everything was fresh and favorable! It is a very pricey buffet $75.00 for 2 adults but you do get what you pay for, I think this one time breakfast splurge was ok but next time I will have to stick to the cafe for my close by breakfast needs.
google avatar

Dawn ..

Yelp
Amazing buffet and a great staff! BUT you guys need to figure out the bird situation. I'm GF and found many great options! We the Kea Lani.

E. P.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I came here for the breakfast buffet after being turned away from the Four Seasons (they were only seating guests of the hotel for their buffet). The moment we arrived at the Fairmont, we were treated as if we were hotel guests and everyone we spoke with was so incredibly friendly and welcoming! We arrived at 10:50am (the buffet ends at 11:30am), and the front desk told us there would be no problem and gave us directions to the buffet. The hostesses at the buffet's first question was "are you guests?" and when we said no, they smiled and told us welcome and "thank you for joining us!". Our server, Tamatha, was absolutely lovely and thanked us multiple times for joining her, and was incredibly attentive to us. The food was incredible - we filled our plates with eggs benedicts, french toast, pancakes, waffles, fruit, scrambled eggs, hash browns, vegetables, and more. Everything was delicious, well-cooked, well-seasoned, and warm and fresh. We realized that by arriving at 11am they probably weren't bringing out any more new food, but everything there was great anyway. It was such an incredible experience that we actually brought our entire family back the next day! We noticed there were minor changes to the menus (for example, rather than french toast there were now cheese blintz's) - just enough change to keep you interested if you're eating there daily. However, one member of our family really wanted the french toast we had described to him from the day before. We mentioned this to our server, and he happily obliged and brought us out a freshly made plate! I was completely floored by the service at this hotel and restaurant. I truly felt like I was VIP guest, and welcomed with open arms by every person I interacted with. Fairmont has made me a lifelong promoter of their brand, and it will be the first luxury hotel I consider when planning future trips.
google avatar

Cynthia L.

Yelp
We chose to take a 10 minute walk to this location twice during our trip for the breakfast buffet eventhough our hotel had its own buffet. It was delicious! Lots of great options including an omelet station. I had a shrimp, spinach, onion and cheese omelet and it was delicious! They had a lot of fresh fruit including lychee. It was our first time eating lychee and we absolutely loved it! The buffet is a little pricey at around $35 each but it's worth at least trying it once. Just be careful with those birds as they will try to eat everything on your plate as soon as you walk away!
google avatar

Kim S.

Yelp
This is the best brunch I've ever been to, seriously! The fruits are always so perfectly ripe, the omelet bar makes great omelets and cooked to order eggs. My favorite item of the extensive choices on the hot buffet has to be the Portuguese sausages, oh my! The whole family loves the rice and oshinko (pickles) and the small salad area. There is a good variety of baked goods pancakes/waffles, etc., etc, etc. The icing on the cake is starting each morning with Tamatha who, takes such good care of us. We look forward to seeing her each year, she's always one of the highlights of our vacation at the Kea Lani!
google avatar

Aggie B.

Yelp
Bad, bad, bad. Beautiful hotel and location. Food was gross, service atrocious. Nothing like eating with a bunch of aggressive birds flying over you and eating off your plate. Waffles were soggy, bananas were far from caramelized. Awful. On the other hand, if you're looking to film a remake of the Alfred Hitchcock movie "Birds," this is the place!

Kuldeep T.

Yelp
The coffe was already made and wasnt hot. The food was ok, nothing spectacular. We are vegeterian perhaps the meat is better.
google avatar

Tom R.

Yelp
The buffet was good. The cold foods were cold, and so were a lot of the hot foods. The Eggs Benedict muffins were soggy, the hash browns, bacon, link and patty sausages were cold. That is why I cannot give this anymore than a 3. I'll try it again in a couple of days and revise my review if necessary.
google avatar

Scott H.

Yelp
Standard breakfast buffet, eggs, omelette station, breakfast meats, fruit, bagels etc. It was fine but nothing special. Also be prepared for all the birds flying around you while you eat. Don't leave your food unattended for 5 seconds or your food will be attacked.
google avatar

Jonathan P.

Yelp
Overall food and such is good but the device is lacking big time!! $36 a person for a standard breakfast buffet so the server doesn't have much to do. The place is only about 50% full and we waited for 10+ min for water and not even from our server, then ordered ice tea and now 30+ min now waiting for that. The worst thing is that I'm sure gratuity will be added. Looks like Four Seasons for breakfast tomorrow.

Annie L.

Yelp
The buffet was very delicious. All the fruits like the pineapples, cantaloupes, honey dewa, strawberries and more was very sweet and fresh. I felt the price was just right for all the food it had. The omelette station was great. Good coffee, fresh orange juice and passion fruit juice. Pastries were good Salmon, Lox and Bagel...and much more. So yummy! I'd suggest you go for the buffet instead of the a la carte menu since you'll get more for your money. I've eaten a lot of buffets and this one is a keeper and will Definitely come back again.

L S.

Yelp
Amazing breakfast buffet with fresh fruit and juice, omelette bar, bakery items, salad and even miso soup.

Zach S.

Yelp
Really great breakfast buffet with a lot of options. They had a nice omelette station, waffles, pancakes, an assortment of fruit and cereals, and many more hot items. They even had eggs Benedict and steamed rice with miso. Only reason for my 5-stars is that I got this for free in my rate at the Fairmont Kea Lani otherwise a 2-star place due to the outrageous $50 per person.

Alex K.

Yelp
Most importantly, my Wife and I had a breakfast package included in our hotel rate. We never would have paid the $85 bill we get every morning if it wasn't. However, it has made all the difference in our stay. Do whatever you can to get breakfast included in your stay. We wake up early and spend an hour or two sipping coffee (with a refill carafe they leave on the table - great touch), doing the crossword in the paper they provide, and enjoying their excellent buffet. You also have the option to order from their menu, but we love the buffet. Fresh juices, omelette bar, rotating specials, hash browns, baked goods, fruit, cereal, pancakes/waffles/french toast. Everything you could want. Great service, great ambiance (minus the aggressive birds), just the perfect start to each day in paradise.

Larry W.

Yelp
Great value and large portions. As a tourist hard its hard to find and economical meal on Maui.

Raven K.

Yelp
Please do something with the birds!!! My favorite place for breakfast in Maui whether you choose plated options or the buffet. Great variety and quality. The birds are however overwhelming and take away from the enjoyment. I wish the management would set up a screen to keep them out. The rating would have been a 5 if I didn't have to constantly dodge the birds.

Reza K.

Yelp
Good service and friendly staff. Verity of fresh fruit and oatmeal, but if you leave your food for 5 second will be gone( birds ).

Yelp
Pretty bland buffet for $40 a head. Pancakes and waffles were doughy, juices were concentrate, and nothing was really flavorful. Understaffed. Workers seemed stressed.

Yelp
$32/adult breakfast buffet, Kids 5 and under eat free. Everything tasted fresh, especially the fruit. The service was very friendly. Great way to start the day.

Yelp
Great breakfast buffet! Omelette station fresh fruit and daily selections. One of the better breakfast buffets we've ever been to & super convenient since we booked the package with breakfast daily at the fairmont.
