We stayed for a number of nights in private rooms. Found all of the staff immensely helpful and friendly, and many had very good english. Nicely furnished place with decent beds, sheets, towels, etc. At the time we visited (in late May), be aware that we had quite a problem with mosquitos so we had to buy repellents a few times during our stay. Also might be worth noting that the sound insulation isn't perfect between rooms, and you feel/hear the rumbling of trains at regular intervals during the day/night, but these things didn't cause us much of an issue. Breakfast isn't included, but you can buy some things from the hostel, or there are many nice (cheap!) places to eat nearby and in nearby Paveletskaya, and little supermarkets to buy things too (though no fridge available). Apart from the mosquitos, we had a very good stay!
