I left my heart a Keilir Golf Club. Not having planned to play, I had time early the last day. Long Story, but I got to play one of the most beautiful links courses in all of Europe. The staff were so accommodating, as I was treated and felt like a local. You need to play the 18 hole course and get the best views on the back nine. They also have a 9 hole if you’re limited on time.

“Very interesting layout with lava features throughout the course. The back nine is designed in a links style, offering a unique and challenging experience. Overall, a memorable and engaging round.”

Played May 2022. Great walk in the AM with some locals! Front 9 is the original, courses flows around the lava. Gotta by on your iron game! Back 9 I was told was newer and there was a different feel to it, traditional links. Great course, friendly staff, enjoyed the round!

Top Golf Course in Iceland. Well designed holes. Only course to run through ancient lava fields. You will not regret paying premium to play here.

Incredibly overrated. I thought this would be the highlight of my trip and I made all of our plans around this round of golf. I paid 80 USD for rental clubs and they gave me a horrible set that only contained 9 clubs, they didnt have any viable alternatives either when I asked for a stiff shaft set. The greens were the slowest I have ever played and rolled like you were putting on the fairway. On the plus side the course layout was cool and unique. If your trying to get more tourist to play you should at least have adequete rental clubs... it was a significant drag on my round

Absolutely appalling experience at Keilir Golf Club. We arrived excited to play a midnight round — a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity — only to find out we had mistakenly booked for the following day. Fair enough, that part was on us. But what followed was disgraceful. Despite available tee times, the two staff members we dealt with were rude, unhelpful, and downright dismissive. No attempt to accommodate, no courtesy, no basic hospitality — just an attitude that made it abundantly clear they couldn’t care less. I’ve played golf all over the world, and I’ve never been treated with such hostility at a course. If you value good service, respect, or even basic manners — avoid this place. Keilir might have the scenery, but it clearly has no interest in treating guests like people.
