This is somewhere to connect with nature and the outdoors, without sacrificing comfort and good food! We - 3 generations including children/young people aged 6 to 18 - had a two night stay. The setting was idyllic - remote and peaceful with the river and waterfall, and the occasional oystercatcher, as our soundtrack . Great base for walking, exploring the river, and generally relaxing amid the wonderful scenery and wildlife of the Upper Swale valley. The yurts are very well equipped, surprisingly spacious, and warm (wood burner if needed). Each one has a fire pit and an efficient barbecue outside, which we made use of for one evening meal. For the other we had Julia and Jim's home cooked meals, which were absolutely delicious, and generous portions too. Breakfasts also supplied! The camping barn provided self catering facilities on a larger scale if needed. Each yurt has its own private shower & toilet. There was plenty of outdoor space round the yurts for the kids to play. Julia and Jim were really welcoming, helpful, and friendly, and responded so kindly to our questions and requests! We had a wonderful stay and will treasure the memories. Don't expect a mobile phone signal (that's part of the peace and remoteness) but there is wifi available in the barn if you must!
