Great ice cream shop. Very large inside. I got the mint chip, which was very delicious. The host was very helpful and friendly. Smile on her face. You can tell she loves to work there. There are tons of great stuff. There is so much to look at. You'll be in there for a while. Great atmosphere. Will be back

Blast from the past! I recently visited for the first time in 22 years. Still as awesome as when I first went. Staff super friendly and helpful. Not your average “gift shop” either plenty of nice souvenirs and candy themed pillows too. There is plenty of Candy and chocolates to select from. The make your own sundae is still top notch.

Google
Fun place to take my family. I was pleasantly surprised to discover they have a very sturdy and well maintained wheelchair ramp at the side of the building. The ice cream sundae bar was well watched by the employees and clean. I was disappointed but not surprised to find there is no wheelchair access to the candy and chocolate rooms. Can't wait to return again soon!

Google
This is a fun place where you can put your own sundae together at a toppings bar. They offer a small dining area to eat your creation. There is also a candy store that includes homemade fudges and chocolates.

The kids loved the toppings bar! It was such a fun place to visit. There was just something magical about having a candy store through the window in line to get ice cream.

Google
This is our go to candy shop! Whenever we need a gift we always come here to make our own assorted truffle box. They are the best! (We always get a few for the ride home!) My husband loves their chocolate covered cherries. If you are in the area, it’s worth the stop.

Google
Husband & I are staying in Camden for a few days. We are on our motortrike & stopped for ice cream, which was homemade & delicious. They have homemade chocolate candies along with a very large gift shop. Would recommend stopping & trying/looking at everything!!

Google
Great homemade flavors!! Love coming I. To either try new flavors or the tried and true regulars. Below are two scoops in a waffle cone. They are HUGE!

Yelp
This place is super cute and fun. Lots to look at if you want to shop and a delicious ice cream sundae buffet! We were a group of four with two wanting cones and two wanting ice cream sundaes. The servings here are huge so the two scoops were more than just two. They give you the ice cream of your choice and you add all the toppings you want, finishing up with a little flag. They have lots to choose from. The service was quick and friendly, too. Always a great stop!

Yelp
This amazing chocolate/candy/ice cream shop is a must-see when around Lake Winnepasauke. There ever sort of candy you can imagine. The fudge is delicious. The ice cream doesn't disappoint. I got the coffee with butterscotch topping- delicious. My only caution is buses stop here and there is one cashier so checking out takes a lot of time! Plan accordingly!

Simone S.

Yelp
Fun ice cream shop/ gift shop. Lots to look at for cool gifts and I love their candy shop.

Nishanth D.

Yelp
The place is deceiving. It's bigger than it looks. About 6-7 rooms inside. A place to sit and eat. A room for chocolates, a room for gifts, toys, souvenirs, ice cream. Ice cream sundae is basically like the subway for ice cream choose your flavors and you can put in as many toppings as you want. Only once. There's no extra charge for putting in more toppings as it's not based on the weight. You can only go once. According to me it's got one of the best hot fudge which I tend to buy and take home as well. Ice cream flavors , they have a fair share of common flavors and a couple of different ones. But the variety of chocolates and candy they have is a lot. All in all everything is of great quality. Must try.

Yelp
Delectable Homemade Ice Cream with the thrill of a toppings smorgasbord. They are the best in the state of New Hampshire !

Shannon L.

Yelp
I've been going to Kellerhaus since I was a young child when my parents would take me up to stay in Laconia for a week each summer. Being in NH, my husband and I make it a point to visit a few times a year now. LOVE the ice cream sundae bar. My husband also loves grabbing some chocolates and candies as well. We love perusing all the different things they have. Not too much has changed from when I was a kid except ownership. I hope to be able to continue to come here for more years to come.

Jon C.

Yelp
What a foolish setup. Can't see flavors until just before you order. You order and pay then go around the corner where they make it. Out of a bunch of flavors so we had to change on the fly. Overflowing hot fudge made a mess of everything. Poorly designed and waited almost an hour for ice cream.

Vincent M.

Yelp
If you're in the Meredith lakes region this is a must stop if you have a sweet tooth! The absolute best candy store with the tastiest candies and fudge! Best Penuche in the world!

Nischinth S.

Yelp
This is one of the coolest gift stores I have been too....it's literally a maze with every turn you make filled with surprises. We were told that they had some good ice cream and we decided to give it a try. The have a choice to pick ice creams starting from a scoop to 5, and they come with toppings and you are allowed to put them on yourself. The toppings are included in the price. The ice cream is home made and we gotbthe 4 scoop....apple pie, coffee, maple walnut and strawberry. The ice cream was good and the fudge was excellent. They also make their own candy and chocolate..on addition, have a lot of gifts that you can pick for your loved ones. The staff is very responsive and friendly. I would definitely go back there again if I'm in the area.

Yelp
The place is huge and I would imagine at the height of summer must be a packed madhouse. Luckily we were there on a very quiet late May afternoon and there were very few people. The place is known for their candy and ice cream. But there are also a huge store filled with pretty typical cheesy tourist souvenirs. If the at is your jam you will be in heaven because there is a huge selection of items. We did not try any of their homemade candy (every type of chocolate bon bon you could probably imagine plus fudge) but I will say it looked and smelled delicious. They also have a pretty good selection of old timey candy (root beer barrels, Mary janes, etc). we did try some of their homemade ice cream and it was pretty good (not the best we've ever had certainly but we wouldn't turn it down if offered again). We each just had a plain scoop of ice cream. Probably we should have tried their make it yourself sundae bar in retrospect......it is what they are famous for afterall. One gripe I had was you can't see the ice cream flavors until you are at the check stand to order. And there were numerous choices so we felt a bit rushed to decide what we wanted. I can only imagine a large party could take awhile to place their order and hold up the line. I would recommend they figure out a better system.

Meghana A.

Yelp
The Kellerhaus is the Oldest Candy and Ice Cream maker in New Hampshire Est. in 1906. Still making their own ice cream and over 100 different chocolates in the store. The sweet smell of chocolate greets you from the moment you enter. Nothing like make your own sundae, hot fudge so thick and the icecream delicious rich and creamy. Don't be fooled by the scoop size, they are gigantic. You can spend a good hr or more just walking through the store. I bought so turtles to go....the nuts were crunchy, topped with caramel and covered with chocolate...wish I got more. But there's my reason to come back.

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday afternoon/early evening and the place was still decently busy with folks browsing the store and ordering ice cream to eat. We had been looking for ice cream for a few hours by then and this was the only spot open as it was mid September and considered off-season. We waited in line for a few minutes, but it gave us just enough time to pick what flavors we wanted and understand the menu. The dessert buffet idea was definitely cool and perhaps if I was in the mood for more sweets, I would've gone for it, but I like my ice cream plain in most cases and I was satisfied with the toppings that came with each flavor so I settled on just ordering the scoops. I found the variety of flavors to be pretty decent and they had blackberry chip which I love so I was excited to see it on the menu. The price was pretty good for the quantity of ice cream we got and I shared a large with one other person - it was a good portion size in my opinion for two and I enjoyed getting to try a variety of flavors. Shark Attack, a vanilla base with white chocolate chips and raspberry swirl, honestly was visually off-putting to me due to the unnatural blue, but with the name it made sense. The taste nonetheless of every flavor was great - I'd order any flavor again in a heartbeat. My reason for 3 stars is mainly the microaggression I received upon walking in - the person working at the front asked if I had been there before and when I responded no, she looked genuinely confused and literally started asking, "are you sure?" before stopping herself and then explaining where things were in the building. It was a little offputting at first as she genuinely seemed like she was going to say something along the lines of, "I've seen you before" and after conferring with a friend, she agreed it sounded like a microaggression. For context, our group is full of people who identify as Asian American and we were visibly the only people of color in the building. She seems to have asked a lot of folks in our group the question upon walking in ( we all arrived at different times ), but even if it is a standard greeting, the sentiment of it coming off as a microaggression has very much stuck in my mind. Overall, I found the experience relatively pleasant and I wouldn't mind coming back in the future for ice cream, but if I come back to the area when it's not off season, I'd be more keen to pick another place due to the slight microaggression.

Divyashree R.

Yelp
Friendly staff, clean place and yummy ice creams. The waffle bowl was not good but ice creams were good. Bonus for the kid are the unlimited idea of toppings that they can choose from.

Linda M.

Yelp
What a delightful "sweet" surprise this shop was! Kellerhaus has been in business for over 100 years, and all their delicious candies, ice creams, and toppings are hand made on the premises. And (important for this part of the country) it is open all year! Kellerhaus offers a wide variety of handmade chocolates: milk, dark, and white chocolate creams, caramels, jellies, turtles, clusters, nonpareils, and chocolate covered treats including pretzels, cherries, and cookies. Did I mention the fudge? Chocolate, maple, peanut butter, with nuts, without, omg all so amazing! Don't miss the ice cream! Of all the flavors available that day, I settled on the cherry chocolate chip, then topped it with the hot fudge sauce (the best I've ever had, seriously), some nuts, and marshmallow cream. Pure decadence; pure delight! One of the flavors was Shark's Teeth: vanilla ice cream with swirls of blueberry (the ocean), strawberry (blood!), and slices of almond (the shark's teeth). I wish my appetite had allowed me to eat more, because Shark's Teeth looked great! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and the building itself is charming---very old and rambling---with each room filled with cute and interesting finds. It's hard to leave without finding one or two things that would be great gifts (or, as in my case, that I wanted for myself). If you live nearby or are just visiting New Hampshire, definitely check it out. I only wish I lived closer!

Chris G.

Yelp
Wow this ice cream is delicious! Highly recommend the cherry chocolate chip! I also had the raspberry chocolate chip and that was good as well. There are occasionally really long lines so prepare when going with the kids. Super fire my people that work there and has a cool gift shop that is larger than you would expect.

Elisa F.

Yelp
Come try some of the oldest ice cream in NH! Waited in a long line specifically for ice cream on a Friday night but it was well worth the wait! Although I don't order this flavor often, this might have been my all time favorite chocolate chip cookie dough. If it's your thing, they have a self-serve topping bar as well. Prices were super reasonable for homemade ice cream.

Ara A.

Yelp
The ice cream is pretty good as it's homemade and they have lots of flavor options, they off a ice cream buffet whatever that may be but I'm not a dessert person so .... The shop itself is pretty impressive but the lines are ridiculous.

Kimberly C.

Yelp
We are big fans of Kellerhaus and retune every time we're in the area. Awesome gifts, amazing ice cream and delicious homemade candies. We always enjoy our time here!

Joseph M.

Yelp
Really disappointed. Place used to be the best and a bargain. Doubled prices and barely give you any ice cream. Honestly a scoop is now less than 1/2 and you fill up your Sunday with whip cream and toppings -barely ice-cream. You have been warned. Place is not what it used to be.

Erika T.

Yelp
We were excited to try the oldest ice cream and candy maker in NH, but we're pretty disappointed by the experience. It's really gimmicky with lakes region souvenirs all around making this feel less like a slice of history and more like a major tourist trap. The candy area had some weird strawberry scent being piped in. The candies themselves looked really good, especially the turtles, but the prices were much higher than they should've been for the portion sizes. We opted for ice cream cones and were "greeted" by Aidan who coldly told us to go around the corner to place our order. I guess she was staying on brand with the ice cream - cold on a hot day. The flavor offerings were good, but not nearly as many nor as unusual/creative as the competitors in the area. We got lemon raspberry and bubble gum ice cream. The lemon raspberry tasted like old fashioned penny candy and the bubble gum had a whopping 3 pieces of gum in it and really had a flat flavor compared to other bubble gum ice creams. They had way too many people on staff - this was made apparent by Aidan who kept batting her eyes at half the boys working there so she wouldn't have to lift a finger. We sat for about half an hour watching her do absolutely nothing while her male counterparts did everything...likely for the same hourly rate. Not sure if I should congratulate her for playing the game well or condemn her for manipulating her peers.

Yelp
An amazing place to go, especially during Christmas time. I've been here 10+ times and it's always amazing. The toppings are limited to some strange candy and fruit, so it may be better for some to go with the "ice cream only" selection instead of the "sundae" selection. The store inside is the best part, always decorated during Christmas. I especially love the homemade chocolate and fudge and maple candy. Great for kids. Had a bathroom. Love it here!

D C.

Yelp
Love this place! How fun, you can make your own sundae with their sundae bar, home made whip cream. When your done eating the building is filled with local items for sale.

Bill M.

Yelp
Great chocolates and friendly, knowledgeable and prompt service. Also sells specialty sodas and ice cream.

Deb C.

Yelp
Great little place to enjoy some gift shopping and enjoy delicious ice cream with a toppings bar summer fun

Brooke A.

Yelp
Such a fun place to go and very nostalgic. No matter how many years since you've last gone, you will have the same experience. Fun shopping and great ice cream.

Kyle B.

Yelp
Love this cozy slice of Bavaria in NH. Just make sure you plan on gaining weight because they've got everything sweet here.

Mike N.

Yelp
I have been going to Kellerhaus for most of my life. I always make a point to shop there at Christmas for unique gifts and the best chocolates and candy in the state. I've never had a problem convincing the kids to take a trip to the Kellerhaus for an Ice cream. Vanilla frappe with a whole banana...oh boy!

Kimberly T.

Yelp
Love this place. Their fudge is amazing and they have so many fun treats. Store is always clean and employees are always very friendly.

Frank B.

Yelp
This place is just so much fun. Candy, ice cream, and a player piano. Lots of things to look at. Under new management, the Kellerhaus has the same Good ice cream buffet. The player piano is out of order, which was an essential part of the atmosphere. I was disappointed when They rang up a different price than marked on some merchandise, and would not honor the marked price. Seemed like a bait and switch process, and left me disappointed and distrusting and without my gift. We come here every year, so I hope things improve by next year.

Anita D.

Yelp
I had read in previous reviews that this has been a childhood staple for many so although I feel a bit left out from the nostalgia of my fellow 30-40 somethings returning year after year, I am so happy we discovered this place. It looks as though they haven't changed a thing - just based on the looks of the place it's dated but that's the whole part of it. You walk in and there are a myriad of tiny rooms filled with souvenirs, homemade NH artsy things and other tchotskys. The ice cream parlor area had arrows taped down and specific directions, you order and if it's a sundae they ask you which toppings. I couldn't see the actual Ice cream flavors as they were on the other side but was able to choose based on the list. They had some antique fun entertainment such as a a pianola and an old school scale - although not sure if the scale actually tells you weight or silly things, nor was I about to find out after the eating I had done. We took the ice creams outside where they had a bunch of socially distanced tables throughout the parking lot. My daughter got the Cookie Monster and to be quite honest we all had ice cream envy. Bright blue ice cream with crumbled Oreo cookies - amazing. I'll definitely get that for myself next time!

Diane S.

Yelp
The view and Ambience are great. The ice cream and confections delicious. Very fun place to poke around and shop

Kimberly M.

Yelp
Very cool candy & gift store. Unfortunately due to some covid restrictions the ice cream parlor wasn't open but this is a very unique gift shop. They make their own fudge, chocolates & they have several different rooms so you can definitely find a souvenir for everyone on your list. Each room has a different theme. The ice cream parlor room is adorable & has really cool stained glass windows. You should definitely make this a stop if in the Weirs Beach area.

Winter J.

Yelp
Kellerhaus is incredible. We made a point to visit again on our second trip to the area, and it didn't disappoint. Kellerhaus has something like 8 different rooms with different things to browse and buy, and a large ice cream dining area. The chocolate and fudge is delicious and it's easy to lose yourself in the wonder of this unique place. It's so worth visiting!

Sara P.

Yelp
While the ice cream could be considered pricey, it's amazing! There aren't a lot of flavors and a short list of toppings but there's something for everyone (even some dairy free options). The gift shop area was much larger than I expected. There's a lot to look at from Christmas themed items to novelty toys. You can find a lot of items for Lake Winnipesaukee. My personal favorite was all the candy and fudge. Not only do you have a lot to choose from the set up is cute!

Renee H.

Yelp
Kellerhaus!!!!! Amazing! It looked like they were packed. The parking lot was full to the brim but there was barely anyone inside. They were busily preparing the Valentines chocolates everyone was coming to get! Such delicious chocolates. Amazing icecream smorgasbord. So good! This is an excellent stop while you're here.

Alicia G.

Yelp
This beautiful hilltop candy shop, is straight out of a fairytale. Looks like a Hansel and Gretel home, with lots of goodies inside. Weekends in the summer they serve waffle breakfasts in abundance to the visitors of this lakeside community. They have more than waffles but it's a simple limited menu. Their main attraction is the candy shop or ice cream offerings. They have a large gift shop with lots of local creations and fun rustic pieces. My kids love to stop at the make your own candy bag section... my daughter doesn't eat chocolate so my son and I more than make up for her portions! ;) they are all made in house - nice and sweet, with a wide assortment, freshly stocked. I grabbed a box of assortments with caramels this past Sunday while on an adventure with my daughter! Definitely recommend this place, there are lots of candy stores in the area but none have the same quality and fresh in home assortment. Great place for ice cream, as that is made in house and you can top it yourself without worrying about the weighing of additions making the price outrageous- they don't weigh, they encourage creativity and sharing of pictorial masterpieces!! Don't forget to check out their live bee hive that you can safely watch from behind glass - such a great excitement for all the kids!!!

Ronald C.

Yelp
The best of the best. My favorite all time gift/candy store! Incredible selection of gifts and homemade candy . Oh and don't forget their incredible ice cream bar! Yummy!!

Jennifer P.

Yelp
This is right next to the cottages we are staying at this weekend, so we walked over for some ice cream. We didn't realize it was so much more than that. They hand make candies, and all their own ice cream. I got the Cinnamon Toast Crunch ice cream and opted for the topping bar which had different sauces and toppings, it was the best ice cream i've ever had. There were several rooms filled with typical gift shop things but I still loved walking through it all. We sat outside under their new pavillion and there were games like corn hole, Jenga, and connect 4. So fun. We will definitely be back!

Nicole H.

Yelp
A must if you are in the area. WE love the ice cream buffet! And the store is so much fun to peak around in and great gift options.

Kenneth L.

Yelp
We all scream for ice cream! Though I don't think I could eat 10 scoops of ice cream and all the toppings! This place is wonderful and not just ice cream, they have a gift shop. Many different flavors to choose from.

Joanna N.

Yelp
I eat more ice cream than kids. When I travel out of town, I always make it a point to check out a hot spot in the area, just to see how it compares to my fave shops. Kellerhaus popped up in my search so we drove here after some games at Funspot. The outside is very unassuming but once you walk in, you're in the wonderland of gifts and souvenirs, ice cream and candy, all in one. The ice cream was straight to the back. The ordering process was a little weird but basically, the list of ice creams is right in front of you as you walk in. Know what you want before you make your way to the back to order! I decided on the cookie coffee flavor in a cone. I was super impressed with this. The ice cream texture was wonderfully creamy with a strong coffee flavor. There were pockets of soft chocolate cookie crumbs swirled throughout. This combo really worked! Wish I had gotten two scoops. We didn't linger and browse so I can't say much about the rest of the place. I'd definitely stop in for another cone if I find myself by Lake Winnipesaukee again.

JG L.

Yelp
Mandatory masks for all customers and staff? Hmmm don't remember a mask mandate occurring in NH. I'm not making a scene, just left as is their right and my right.

Diane C.

Yelp
Friendly, helpful employees. Great gifts, delicious homemade chocolate and candy, and make your own ice cream sundae bar is so fun!

Tara E.

Yelp
Very cute store with a variety of candy and delicious not overpriced ice cream sundaes! Highly recommend a stop here if you are in Laconia! I also was able to order ice cream for my dog and they topped it with a Milk Bone! Super cute

Sarah S.

Yelp
This place is such a happy childhood memory for me! Every year since the mid 1980's my family and I would go up to Laconia for our annual family vacation and it would not be complete without at least one trip to the Kellerhaus!! I remember the sponge candy being so delicious and the ice cream sundae bar being better than a dream come true to a little kid! I cannot wait to visit again and would highly recommend heading here for a sweet treat as well as a memorable experience in general!

Amanda L.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious sundae bar!! I came here when I was 8 years old and it was just as delicious 13 years later. The staff was very nice and the wait wasn't too long in the line. If ice cream wasn't so many calories, I'd be here literally every day! The addition of the candy store and gift shop truly makes Kellerhaus unique. I bought a lovely candle and bar of soup after finishing my dessert, which brightened my day! I was very excited about them, and found most things to be very reasonably priced.

Ashley C.

Yelp
Been coming here since I was about 5 I am now 26. Always make it a point to come here while I'm on vacation. Best ice cream and candy and such cute gift shops. Plus all the toppings for the ice cream and they do breakfast now as well which was great. Plus they have cute color changing bowls for the ice cream

Sara P.

Yelp
Fantastic homemade chocolates and candy! Cute gift shop as well. You can order their treats online and have them shipped to your door! Great for a special gift!

Samantha L.

Yelp
This place has a cute gift shop and some delicious chocolates. I found the ice cream and the toppings bar unimpressive. Nothing too fun or exciting- just your standard stuff like candies, hot fudge. Their home made waffle cones were not that tasty either. I think the experience of having a toppings bar is fun, but not a repeat one. Go for the chocolate, skip the ice cream.
