Google
First time at a Kelly O's, so we tried the original location. Food and service were great! Nice menu with plenty of options, and plenty of free parking. Would recommend and will definitely return

Google
North hills location is small but the waitresses keep everything moving. Polite and friendly. Pittsburgh platter was awesome! A little of everything. Kilbasa, pierogies, halukski. Eggs and toast!

Google
I got take out. I ordered a Tuna melt and a side of coleslaw. The food was ready but hot. Takeout was a nice experience and the Tuna melt was delicious

I absolutely adore this place!! The food is great but the service is top notch. Sam was our waiter and I have to say she is absolutely amazing she is the kindest soul and a hard worker. Sam made the food taste that much better. Will absolutely be coming back!!

Google
Have been here three times in the last two weeks and a dozen times before that over the years before moving out this way. This is one of the best diners you will find in any city. I especially appreciate the fact that they are open at 7am on the nose, which means I'm not going to run late because the diner decided to open late that day. The food is spectacular and quick. Today, I had the body builder omelette, which is a great low carb option for an easy arm day. They also have a bigger selection of hot sauce than most places. Just make sure that if you are meeting people here that you all go in together. They do not allow people to join tables once the table is sat.

Google
Great little dinner. Excellent service. Servers great everyone entering. Food was delicious. From the time I ordered till we had our food was 12 minutes Impressive

Google
Found this place while traveling. Highly recommend to anyone looking for the diner experience. They treat everyone like a local, they know many by name. Food was delish!

Google
Very busy and loud on Saturdays. Nothing very notable in terms of atmosphere. Interesting artwork, but it still gave out that typical diner vibe. Seats were hard and uncomfortable. Though overall relatively affordable to dine here, I still find the salad pricey. Not sure if it's a norm in Pittsburgh, but who puts strips of processed cheese in a salad??? The quality of the service was undoubtedly the best part of my visit, but I'd skip this Kelly O's location.

Yelp
I love Kelly and Kelly O's so much. This is a great location though I often go to the one in the Strip. However, now and again when I still lived in Pittsburgh and when I go home to visit, I find myself in this neck of the woods. The classic diner fare is exactly what you expect and want it to be. I have never had a bad experience or meal here. This location like the one in the Strip does a mean diner breakfast (several to choose from). You'd be foolish to pass this place by. Seriously.

Yelp
Located adjacent to Shop and Save, this diner has a small entry vestibule. I visited in the summer so unsure if they close both doors to reduce winter drafts. The restaurant is inviting, a Goldilocks type of place as diners should feel. Not fancy or basic, just right. The menu lacks pictures but seems to be welcoming with its bright yellow color. The menu is extensive and I should have researched prior to arrival. I asked our very attentive staff her feedback on my request. I settled on Seana's Favorite (2 eggs, 2 meats, 2 sweets). Everything was cooked perfectly and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Next time maybe I'll try their milkshake and see if they can meet my expectations on home fries.

Yelp
Honestly not that bad, the bacon was crispy , eggs were cooked , and the pancakes were just pancakes. The style is definitely American diner but it feels empty a bit Overall good service from the kid I had serving me , would come back again. Plus it looks like they have personal events which I like to see

Russ K.

Yelp
Strip shop fast and great food. Specials different every time I go in. Wasn't as fast as strip on Perry Hwy.

Yelp
Kelly O's was in our path on a late morning and it was a little too early for lunch, so we stopped in. We rarely do restaurant breakfasts, except when travelling. We both had the traditional eggs Benedict, not being adventurous enough to try the more exotic versions. The eggs were good, meaning they were the traditional offering, with real holandés sauce and Canadian bacon. The breakfast potatoes were also good, meaning they were actually hot when served. The setting is pure, authentic retro diner, so you either like it or don't. I give it 4 stars, the highest I will go for breakfast, because there's little potential to differentiate the breakfast menu and preparation. So we were happy and it's on our approved list, but we're not likely to return soon.

Yelp
Good food, great service, wonderful breakfasts, worth the visit never disappointed. Both north hills and strip district locations are exceptional.

Yelp
The food was excellent, especially the biscuits and gravy and potatoes. The service was great. It was a good breakfast except for it being a bit pricey.

Yelp
Came here for the first time and had a great experience! Your classic diner with quality food is not dead! I got grits and eggs with a side of hot sauce and my friends got the turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes and the roast beef omelette. All items were fantastic but the roast beef omelette absolutely stole the show. The omelette had the biggest chunks of the most tender roast beef, I'd highly recommend getting this!! I also love that the food here isn't too greasy!

Yelp
Your basic Pittsburgh diner but better! For one, I didn't leave smelling like the kitchen or the griddle the food was cooked on. I grew up in the south so biscuits and gravy were a staple in my life. It is still one of my favorite breakfast foods. Too many upscale breakfast & brunch joints try to put their spin on the dish and then up charge for something that usually lacks in flavor. These did not disappoint! Lots of sausage, flavor & thick! The biscuits were so buttery and the perfect crunch to soft ratio. Potatoes could have stood to be a bit crispier to my liking but they were fine. Eggs and sausage are hard to mess up, both were great! Service was QUICK! I dined alone at the counter. Several waitresses checked on me and made genuine conversation while I was there. I love a weekend solo breakfast date! There is another diner closer to my house but Kelly Os is worth the extra 12 minute drive. Will be back for many more dine ins!

Yelp
Kelly O baby! What a cool experience we had on a Saturday morning. Did a quick search for breakfast while we were at a nearby hotel and Kelly's popped up. Little did we know it was featured on Triple D in 2019! Very cool. What we snagged: -Diner coffee...off the chains. -Breakfast Plater (Bacon cooked perfectly) -Breakfast sandwich with a biscuit with a side of home fries. (Home fries were cooked crispy and amazing!) Would highly recommend Kelly O's to ANYONE within 5 square miles of this joint. No frills place that is dishing up great food. They also have a small section of the menu with the items Guy tried from triple D. Really great idea.

Yelp
This review applies to Kelly O's in the Strip. I am a long time regular (every Sunday morning going back years) and the quality of the restaurant has taken a drastic plunge this year (in particular). Prices have gone up (as is to be expected) while the value and quality have gone down which is totally unacceptable. This is on top of them adding (in the past year or so) a surcharge to use a debit/credit card. In the past three months I have had to return my food due to inaccuracies more times than I have in pretty much all the years I've frequented Kelly O's. And it's not due to my being a picky customer. I've had to return burned food and food missing key ingredients (including a time I received a sandwich with only a few whisps of meat which the server claimed she had already had the cook remake, yet I still was expected to accept a poor quality item). The last time I was there (March 9, 2025) I returned food for BOTH reasons. I was presented with a plate of chocolate chip pancakes (which cost more than regular pancakes) that was both burned and nearly devoid of chocolate chips. I have ordered chocolate chip pancakes dozens of times over the years and what they gave me that day was pathetic bordering on insulting. The portion sizes have also been steadily decreasing on al la carte potato items in particular. I order fries when I get a sandwich (which are charged as a side) and I order home fries when I get pancakes (again, charged as a side). The last time I got a sandwich (that time it did have meat at least) there were about a dozen fries on the plate (normally there is a very reasonable portion that at least covers the bottom of the plate). This last time (when I got the pathetic pancakes) I receive less than a potato's worth of potatoes in my order (it was a tiny little line of fried potatoes, about six bites of food with a few that were, you guessed it, burned). That said I want to COMPLIMENT the wait staff. It's very rare that I don't get excellent service and in the case of the pathetic pancakes, they did offer to remake them but I was just so disgusted in general that I decided to just skip them entirely. But, I will say they should not be taking poorly prepared food to diners, especially when it was not busy and, in the case of the pathetic pancakes, they were clearly burned. Now that Kelly O's has decided to play the "shrinkflation" game (charging more while giving less) I will be changing my spending habits (and my Sunday morning routine). I don't say that lightly, either. And I will no longer be recommending Kelly O's to anyone. It was fun while it lasted but I'm done, thanks.

Yelp
Once again, we find ourselves at a Triple D location and are at odds with it. We went to the original location, which is pretty far from Pittsburgh as far as driving sake, the roads around there are crazy. There was a wait, which is a good sign and the place is really small. Once up, we asked to sit at the breakfast bar in hopes to get seated sooner with faster service. Well, we did wait about 8 minutes to get our drink order taken. At the breakfast bar? There were about 4 people back and forth there so that seemed a little crazy. Turn to form for Ben, we ordered items that were on the Triple D show (his I cannot think of the name of) and mine was the biscuits and gravy. I actually ordered the regular size as I wanted the hashbrowns, etc that went along with it but still asked for only 1 biscuit as I can never eat two. One of my biggest pet peeves when it comes to biscuits and gravy is when I ask for just 1 biscuit that doesn't mean I want less gravy. It came out with what I would consider very little gravy so after a few minutes of waiting, I asked if I could have a little extra and showed the plate to explain there wasn't much. Ohhhh the joy I had when I found out that I was charged $4.99 for that extra amount they gave. Definitely didn't ask for a SIDE of it, but really what should have been given if two biscuits were there. Ben enjoyed his meal and made him feel like he was back in Europe. It was not a breakfast item, but given our time there more of brunch item or dinner. I did have a taste and it was completely new to me so I couldn't have an opinion one way or the other, outside of it not being breakfast which is what I was there for. Ben left full but did mention that he didn't think that would be an item he would order again, maybe just too different. Service again once we had the food was lacking, again we didn't understand when we were sitting right there in front of so many people. The regular next to me even offered me his creamer for my coffee because he noticed I was waiting for it from my first cup. Service for him was very different I noticed, they did know him by name and service was often and quick so I appreciated his kindness to offer his intended items.

Yelp
We visited the Perry Highway location for the first time this week for breakfast. They had a nice selection of breakfast foods on the menu. My husband and I both ordered omelets. The food arrived quickly. The omelets were good and I loved the Mancini's toast. Our server was nice when we initially sat down and she brought our food quickly. After that, she never came back once to check on us. Not once. She didn't ask if our food was okay, or if we needed anything else. We had to flag her down to ask for a refill on our coffee. When she came with out pot, she filled my cup but not my husband's. When we first sat down we asked if you could have some extra napkins and two glasses of water. We never got either. She finally left the check, but never came back to get our money. We had to walk over to the counter and give it to her. The only other thing I had a slight issue with is the restroom. It is one restroom (one toilet only) for men and women and it is located just inside the kitchen area. So you have to briefly walk through the kitchen while the cooks are making food to get to it. I found that a bit unusual. But overall, the food was good and we will most likely visit again.

Yelp
My first time in Pittsburgh and Kelly O's was part of a great trip. Service was great. It was busy and after we were seated our waitress didn't show back up and we had to ask someone for service. They were beyond apologetic and did everything possible to make up for the small inconvenience. And the food was great!!!!
google avatar

Yelp
If this place is good enough for Guy Fieri, it's good enough for me. They are proud of the fact that they were featured on Diners Drive In's & Dives! I always enjoy coming here for breakfast. It's good food served quickly. They seat you on first come first served basis. And if you have a larger party, they will not seat you until everyone is present. I cannot recommend any one dish, for I have not had one that I have not liked. I can't wait to go back and try something different! So don't be afraid to try anything on their menu.

Yelp
Always busy for a reason. Loved the corned beef, gf said biscuits n gravy okay...Service nice
google avatar

Deborah R.

Yelp
I love(d)Kelly Os. Went in over the weekend for breakfast and they weren't up to their standard. Eggs were hard. potatoes were very greasy and food was cold.

Warren L.

Yelp
Great breakfast food with quick service. Nice little spot, doesn't take long to fill up but they turn over the tables and booths pretty quickly.
google avatar

Yelp
I was passing by and was in the mood for some breakfast. The place has a nice vibe and is an old style looking diner, Which is vert=y cool. The staff where friendly and very nice. I ordered 2 eggs scrambled with bacon and home fries to go. The breakfast was great as well as the service. I would defiantly go again when in the area.
google avatar

Mia H.

Yelp
Loved the ambiance, the wall art, and just looking at everything they had. We came here on a Saturday late morning and got seated quickly. The service was good and attentive. The mixed grill was ok nothing too special about it. One of our friends got the Pittsburgh eggs Benedict (didn't get a pic); she loved the saltiness and sweetness from the kielbasa and sautéed onions. As for the country-fried steak and eggs, the steak had a crispy outside, but the gravy was too peppery. Overall, willing to give it a second chance and might try out the strip district location or a different entree.

Yelp
My in laws took the triad off the wife and I's hands for the weekend and we wanted to make the most of it. So, we went to Kelly O's for breakfast and they didn't disappoint. First off, I was born in Kansas raised in the southwest and have love for diner food with the old timeer truck stop feel. This place however, receives high marks because the food makes the simple memorable. The bacon comes out somewhere between crispy and Al dente, and the coloring of it is less than desirable. Be that as it may, they must have cooked it in baby unicorn tears because it tasted amazing; and might be the best bacon I've had at any diner; EVER. 8.9/10 Breakfast sausage isn't hard to mess up, but if you have the choice to choose this or the bacon, I suggest requesting a double portion of bacon. The sausage is good; but you will forget about having ordered it when you tell the legendary story of going to Kelly Os. The Eggs might have been the more conventional food on this plate in terms of an overall experience. They make them the way you order them which seems to be challenging for some restaurants these days. That being said, it was solid. 6/10 Okay, so my highest grade next to Kansas City Joe's goes to this place, and I absolutely attempt to justify lowering grades on food, because a damn 9 or above tells you the consumer that it's near the best I have ever eaten. And, I account for many factors other than flavor, but the hospitality the waiting staff has; make a you feel like you're apart of the experience. Incredibly down to earth and very uplifting working staff. You truly do feel like a member of the family is making you breakfast! Texas is known for Pecans, and when I travel to Texas I often order Pecan pancakes and pie. That being said, Kelly Os just went and reset the record with flavor and abstract vanilla taste. Dare I say vanilla, or something else-- but they have to make this fresh somehow because the sweet gentle flavor of those pancakes Tom Bradys' those pecans into submission. 9.3/10 Lastly, they serve Pepsi, but I won't judge them for it! Lol

Yelp
Do not believe the hype with this place. Food is underwhelming and quality is poor. Just experienced biscuit and gravy with the biscuit blackened to the point of scorched earth. Pointed this out to server who brought a replacement biscuit that was no better than the original. Much better diner/breakfast options in and around Pittsburgh.

Chris B.

Yelp
4 of us tried it for breakfast last week. We all had a fantastic breakfast. Planning to go back again. Food, price and service all were really good

Jacque Y.

Yelp
I took a friend to a surg center, and not wanting to just sit there for 3 hours, I decided to find a place for breakfast. Kelly O's came up as the closest, and that's how I ended up there. I had to wait for 2 parties to be seated before me, but it was maybe only 5 minutes or so until I got a table. Funny, when I walked in and saw so many tables in a pretty small place, I thought, boy I'm gonna be awfully crowded in, but as soon as I was seated, I realized that very artful arrangement of tables made it not feel crowded at all. My server was a very nice young lady who took good care of me! I ordered their 2 egg combo that comes with a meat, potatoes (I chose the home fries), and toast. I also ordered a side of grits with cheese. The eggs were properly scrambled and fine. I would've liked the sausage patties browned more, and I'd actually requested that, but nonetheless, they had good flavor. I got wheat toast, and I don't know what kind it was, but it was really good. The potatoes weren't even warm enough to melt the butter I added to them, but once reheated, they were...potatoes. The cheesy grits...I haven't had really good grits since I was in Okracoke NC a few years back. Sadly, I STILL haven't. Totally unimpressive, they were. This place gets a lot of hype because Guy Fieri (sic?) brought his show here once. If he'd ordered what I had, he would've called the place average. That's what I'd call it.

Yelp
Kelly O and her team are still cranking out awesome breakfasts for curbside pickup or delivery during the COVID Pandemic. It was so easy to order online at the web page and set your own pickup time. You can add special instructions and add condiments and sides, etc. through the online ordering interface. Super slick. We ordered two Famous Breakfasts and some of the Pecan Pancakes. Both orders were made exactly as ordered. My medium over easy eggs were perfection. The bacon was super crispy and nice and salty. We had one order with shredded potato and another with home fries. They were both really flavorful and delicious. All of this for $30? You bet! The beautiful thing is that you can order online and pay online and the just pull up in front of their place and they run it out to you. We'll definitely be ordering from Kelly O and her team again. Bravo!

Yelp
I tried this place for the first time on a Sunday at 10:30. The line to get a table was out the door (good sign) but we only had to wait about 5 minutes. The food took about 20 minutes, reasonably for a packed diner. The wait staff was great, they kept refilling coffee. The food was incredible. I had the eggs Benedict and was very pleased. My friend had an omelet and was happy with it. It is a small place and looks like you would expect a diner to look like. I highly recommend this place.
google avatar

Zoë T.

Yelp
Very quick and awesome server! The food was really yummy we got the BLT and Waffle. Great vibe!
google avatar

Robyn S.

Yelp
Came back again to visit my in laws and this place is still busy AND has the best pancakes and fresh orange juice in Pittsburgh! All their employees are always working hard to get everyone taken care of. Can't wait to come back again for the next family trip!
google avatar

Lou C.

Yelp
Son had biscuits & gravy. Biscuits were alright, gravy horrible!!! Didn't eat it!!! Power Play omelette was ok, not great!!! Wife had scrambled eggs, sausage & French toast, good not great!!! Disappointed because biscuits & gravy were featured on the Triple D special menu!!! Don't be fooled!!!! Gravy's out of a can!!!

Robert W.

Yelp
Great selection of food. Service personnel are very pleasant and bubbly . Diner style atmosphere.

Cindy S.

Yelp
This little diner is really incredible. It's a wonderful slice of Pittsburgh food and atmosphere!! My friends and I stopped here for breakfast on a Sunday morning and it was crowded but everyone was having a wonderful time. The waitress was awesome and so friendly. The food was delicious and exactly how I liked it... Wonderful comfort food!!!
google avatar

Stevie D.

Yelp
Welcoming staff delicious breakfast, coffee could be a little bit better for being a coffee drinker it's more watery.. that would be my only suggestive fix! Recommend trying them. We enjoy going here.
google avatar

Kathryn F.

Yelp
Acoustic paneling would do wonders for the restaurant. VERY loud. 3 types of seating: at the counter, table, or on the sidewalk. The stools at the counter take me back to eating ice cream at Yetter's in Millvale. Large menu. Large portions. Food served promptly & accurately. Waitresses work as a team ... see an empty/near empty cup/glass offering refills. Tables turned over quickly. Ample parking. It was diner food. Prefer Pancake House (McIntyre Square) or Pamela's (Millvale) for breakfast.
google avatar

Yelp
We were driving around trying to find somewhere on Easter Sunday that was open and didn't have a long wait. We came up short for 3 different places and then we drove by Kelly O's Diner. It was like it came down from the heavens, a true Easter miracle for us sinners. #blessed The women who work here are incredible. Sassy, funny and want you to have some awesome food. Our waitress suggested the Pittsburgh Benedict which comes with kielbasa and pierogis under the eggs. Amazing. My husband loved the biscuits and gravy and we were emotional about the grilled cinnamon roll. It was so dang good. I will dream about it for months to come. This was also featured on Diners, drive-ins and dives! So cool!
google avatar

Solmaz C.

Yelp
We are from out of town visiting a friend and she brought us here sure brunch. After she told us that it was featured on diners, drive-ins, and dives we had to pay a visit. I have to say the food was really good and the staff was very pleasant and on top of things. These days your waitress or waiter can be hit or miss but I have to say that these employees did not disappoint. We ordered French toast, the starter breakfast, shawnas breakfast and the fried cinnamon roll. Aside from the fried cinnamon roll, everything was good. If you do order the fried cinnamon roll I do suggest you pay the extra two dollars and get ice cream on top. Otherwise you will just be eating bread soaked in butter Overall it was a great place and we would definitely go back
google avatar

Jim R.

Yelp
First... expect it to be busy and to have a brief wait by the door as you watch the staff scurry, smell the wonderful kitchen smells, and wonder which table will come available next. The breakfast is great, the friendliness of the staff is world class, and even though you wait to sit... the wait for food is brief. Bueno!

John S.

Yelp
I had never been there before and got some different things to try it all out. This is a diner style place. The backs on the booth are as hard as a rock and the chairs are small and uncomfortable. They give you enough food when you put it all together, but the portions are small. My eggs and toast were both very small. The bacon was nothing special, just stuff I could have made. The hash browns were fine. The person I was with got an omelette made of eggs, hashbrowns and various meats. This was the best thing that we had gotten. There was just so much flavor coming out of it. I also got the homemade cinnamon roll to see what it was like. It's basically more of french toast than a cinnamon roll. It tastes good with syrup on it, but it's on its own, it's not that good. The place is expensive for what it gives you and truly, I didn't think it was anything special except the omelette. I much prefer the Pancake House off of McKnight instead as it has bigger portions and the the quality is much better.
google avatar

Dana P.

Yelp
Always solid, always reliable, always friendly. Good diner food in a good environment. Come hungry.

Ron C.

Yelp
Probably one of the best breakfast diners you'll find in the north hills. Food was incredible and reasonably priced. Service was very quick. I would definitely come back again.
google avatar

Joel S.

Yelp
The food was amazing and reasonably priced. They charge a 3.5% card transaction fee, but I much prefer that to being cash only. Service was fast and friendly. Atmosphere was boppin'

Marilyn C.

Yelp
This was a wonderful experience! Service and food were excellent. I read some nasty reviews, and I am wondering if they are from some envious competitors.

Julie D.

Yelp
This is a classic diner. The portions are large, but the food is pretty mediocre (eggs were rubbery, pancakes were dense). Prices were modest and the people were nice, but I wouldn't go back based on the quality of the cooking.
google avatar

Jamie S.

Yelp
Visited on a Saturday morning around 10am. The place was hopping! There were a couple small parties in front of us, but the restaurant was turning tables quickly. Our wait ended up only being 10 minutes or so. We sat at the counter and were immediately greeted by a friendly server and offered coffee, juice, etc. I went with the standard dinner coffee; although they do make fresh squeezed orange juice (to order!). It looks great and I'm definitely trying that next time. I'll preface my review by saying that I'm from New Jersey and grew up eating at a local diner only a few miles from my house. There are numerous places in Pittsburgh that hold themselves out to be "diners," but THIS PLACE IS THE MOST AUTHENTIC DINER FOOD I'VE HAD IN PITTSBURGH. Jersey yelpers in Pittsburgh, message me if I'm wrong, but I'm feeling pretty confident here. I had the corned beef hash with over easy eggs and my husband had a waffle. The food service was quick and the food was piping hot. Honestly, I can't wait to go back. Definitely our new go-to breakfast spot!

Robin K.

Yelp
We frequently have breakfast at Kelly O's in Pines Plaza. Great way to start the day. Friendly, upbeat staff, delicious food that's well prepared, wonderful community atmosphere. Tell them "Bubby" sent you!
google avatar

Maureen M.

Yelp
Went to the Perry Highway location today and Sam was our waitress. What a great experience! Excellent service and delicious food. I had banana pancakes. Super yummy!
google avatar

Julie W.

Yelp
The OG Kelly's Diner location......this is a piece of Burgh history and has the food to back it up. I always get breakfast food here, but I've heard the lunch food slaps too. Get the sausage gravy and homemade biscuits - with a side of shredded potatoes. This place is ALWAYS buzzing.....there's usually a wait, but you know what your mama said.....good things come to those who wait!!! If you're in the area, don't think twice. This is my weekend staple. What are you waiting for? GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...........
google avatar

Carolyn B.

Yelp
Classic dinner food in a down home setting. I'm much more familiar with their location in the Strip, but this location has lots to offer. Both the food and service are very good. Our wait staff were eager to pour coffee and make sure we had everything we needed. The portions are generous and served hot. The room was bustling but we felt quite comfortable and well taken care of.
google avatar

Elaine F.

Yelp
My new favorite breakfast spot. Delicious food, outstanding service, a great place to start your day. I've had several combos but one of my favs is spinach feta and tomato. Shredded potatoes are delish and always a couple of cups of good coffee!!!

Yelp
Big portions! My friend and I had their special of crab and asparagus omelet. Nice amount of crab meat and good hollandaise sauce. I love their shredded potatoes with green peppers and onions on top! They add a generous portion of butter to their toast but it's oh so good! It's an excellent place for breakfast!
